Although they offer riffs on the traditional cheesesteak, you can kick it old school by ordering "The Old School" (just steak, sautéed onions, and Cheez Whiz). They are quite accommodating and should you prefer provolone or Cheez Whiz over the other on your prescribed sandwich, or make another substitution, or add lettuce & tomato on yours (off-brand, but not a sin even though my husband thinks so), they'll happily do it for you. I ordered a large to share, expecting a big ol' hoagie, but it was surprisingly dainty and lacks the heft of the best cheesesteaks I've had. However, dare I say we enjoyed it more than some proclaimed authentic Philly cheesesteaks? Gasp! One of my go-to fast food places in the mall, with various chicken and steak sandwiches (and fries) cooked to order. You can order on a kiosk without talking to anyone if desired. Since it's a chain, the food is as expected: tastes pretty good but very salty. The other good court options when I'm not in the mood for sandwiches is Japanese, Wendy's, and Nathan's. There's just general seating, which usually isn't a problem but weekends can get crowded. If crowded just go to the other side of the food court. read more

This is probably one of the better choices in the food court! Is it an authentic cheesesteak? No. Is it close? Its decent? But because it is better than most other options at the food court, it gets an extra half star lol! I have been to the original Pats and Genos man many times, as well as many other cheesesteak places in the Philly area. So I think I know what it should taste like lol! The real authentic places all use Kraft Cheese Wiz, and they use provolone. No biggie! It gives it a slight sharp bite, but its not as creamy. This past time, I got the pepperoni cheesesteak and it was pretty good! The addition of Mayo, Ketchup, Lettuce, Tomato isn't authentic and makes it feel more of a deli sandwich, but surprisingly works well with it. I also loved the pepperoni on it. It isn't authentic but it is a great sandwich! Fries are pretty solid, get them with cheese! Also I really enjoyed my Peach Lemonade! Love the chunks of Peach on the bottom. Staff is friendly, but a tad bit hard of hearing. It is semi noisy BTC, and with hem wearing masks, hearing and speaking gets difficult. All in all, one of the better options in the food court. Surprisingly good I stopped by this morning just after they opened for a Philly Cheesesteak. A smiling person greeted me and took my order, and within a few minutes I had my food. I was able to watch my food being cooked, everything is out in the open, as Charley's is known for. The sandwich was surprisingly good, although I wasn't really surprised. This was not my first Charley's Philly Cheesesteak. It is surprisingly good for food court fare. The bread was soft, the sandwich tasted just like it was from Philly. Sure, a bit more meat would have been nice, but it wasn't really lacking. Charley's is located in the Palisades Mall food court. My partner and I have had our fair share of philly cheesesteaks as this is one of his favorite meals. This one is pretty good but far from the best (in the world) as their banner claims. I love eating here whenever I come to Palisades Center Mall. The food is consistently good, the staff are friendly, and everything is neat. I got the philly cheesesteak which comes with grilled onions, mushrooms, green peppers, and white American cheese. I added mayo, lettuce, and tomato. I also got the jalapeño pepper fries which comes with jalapeños, jalapeño lime seasoning, smoky bacon, shredded cheddar, cheese sauce, and ranch. This item is only available for a limited time and I'm so glad I was able to try it! The jalapeños are the perfect level of spicy. Delicious! I will definitely be back again~ read more

When I noticed they had Philly cheese sandwiches on the menu I had to give it a shot - I knew going in it wouldn't match an authentic Philadelphia "Philly Cheese" but hey you never know right? This was my second attempt at getting a decent meal at the Palisades Mall in Nyack - my first was lunch @ TGI Fridays and now dinner here @ Charley's Grilled Subs. Keep in mind it's not a waiter service type of restaurant - more like a fast food, order and sit yourself where ever theres a seat available. So we placed our orders - the sandwiches come in 3 sizes - small, medium and a large sub. We decided to go with the small ones since we really didn't know what to expect. Compared to a Philadelphia "Philly CHeese" it was close but no cigar - they lacked in the meat department, sandwiches were a bit skimpy yet tasty even though it looked like pre packaged steak Umms'... Seriously I thought I was at home making my own quick rendition of a "Philly Cheese". Can't say I was truly disappointed but it wasn't nothing to write home about. Not bad for the price - quick service and pleasant on top of that - the Staff was truly into what they were doing and did it with a smile. That makes the experience just a bit better. This place runs like an assembly line. The process is that you must order through the cashier and then go down the line to tell each person what you want on the sandwich. The woman who took my order was rude. Since I had never eaten there before, I was trying to study the menu. I felt so much pressure to order because they wanted to keep the line moving. However, I didn't know what I wanted. So I panicked! The cashier kept saying next and there was just too much pressure. So I looked up the bright picture of loaded cheese fries looming over this woman's head. So I felt compelled to put in an order for that. Next I had to decide on a sandwich and QUICK! Time was of the essence for some reason. So I went with a sandwich that had bacon on it. Bacon pretty much makes my world go round so I figured what the heck. After I got done going down the line to construct my sandwich, I finally receive the finished product. I must have looked like Peter Cottontail because I was literally staring at a lettuce sandwich. There were like two slices of turkey and one strip of bacon; the rest was lettuce. The cheese on the cheese fries was nasty and tasteless. I spent $10 on this "meal". After I got done champing through it, I was still hungry- yet nauseas. Even after reading this review, if you decide to eat at this place, try to study the menu online before you arrive. And whatever you do, don't base your food choices off of any of their pictures. read more

For a "fast food" establishment this place tastes and feels great. When I say feels great I mean I don't feel like **** after eating here. Besides forgetting to make our order 10 times they didn't even make my chicken California correctly. They claim it doesn't have ranch dressing but it says it's made with it. This is the worst Charley's I've ever been too. They need to get themselves together fast. read more
