I grew up in northeastern Pennsylvania and back home, subs are called hoagies. In other parts of the country they might be subs or heroes, but not where I'm from. The other regional staple is that we always have birch beer at our hoagie shops. Now, living in South Florida, I rarely find birch beer, but when I do, it's a great day. Well, Laspada has birch beer. On tap. I was in heaven. The other great thing about this place is that the way they make the sandwiches. I'll save the actual construction as a surprise, because you have to see it to believe it, but they put meat on the bread, then load it up with whatever it is you want in the way of vegetation, then more meat on top! This place is awesome! Unless you're a vegan, but then you wouldn't be going to a hoagie shop, so it doesn't matter. But for normal people, it's incredible! Hands down this is my favorite hoagie/sub/hero shop in the area. And they have more than one location so I can get a hoagie pretty much anytime I want one.

Tender but not fall off the bone (which is over cooked in my book). They do come sauces so be aware. But I must say I Loved their bbq sauce. It was so good that I would have happily bought a jar of it on site but they don't sell it that way sadly. A vinegar/mustard based sauce I would say, similar to what places in South Carolina would make. The Mac and cheese was decent, could use a little more creaminess and cheese. I really liked the baked beans which were heavy in cinnamon and reminded me of the kind of baked beans that many bbq places in the Tampa-area used to serve when I was living there years ago (people called them "cinnabeans"). I haven't had that mixture in 40 years. My father made the mixture most Sunday mornings. It was delicious and brought great memories. I've never seen that mixture anyplace else. I…read morehaven't had time to read the reviews, but I saw that they scored low and I was hesitant to go to their restaurant. Don't expect anything fancy like you do in East Fort Lauderdale. But you can expect to have a much lower bill with the same quality of food. I wasn't very hungry this morning so I ordered an everything bagel with lox cream cheese. I guess they had a busy morning because both types of lox were sold out. And I can see why because their lox spread was unbelievable. There was so much cream cheese spread I could take probably taken half of it off and brought it home. The coffee wasn't bad either considering it was the brewed pot variety. And the best part was, I didn't have to pay for refills. My total bill was a whopping $6.43. You can't even get a cup of coffee at Starbucks for that. I could tell there were a lot of locals there. This is not a place where you get served in 5 minutes. So impatient people need to frequent the McDonalds down the street. My dog's vet is in Margate so I'm sure I'll visit again.
