Charleston Dinner Cruise

(18 reviews)

We booked a dinner cruise on a Monday night to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The process…read moreof picking up the tickets at the place was super easy. Unless you're a bigger party, I recommend paying the extra amount for a private window seat for 2 otherwise you'd be seated with strangers. It comes with a 4 course meal, and there's a bar on the boat but that's extra. We were shown to our seats right when we boarded and then Kevin was our waiter, super nice. We departed at 7pm and Kevin let us know our first meal would be arriving around 7:30 so we had time to go up to the observation deck. It was very windy but it was still cool to see us leave port and go out to the Charleston Harbor which was nice. There's a covered area in the back and then it's open at the front and that was definitely windy. The meals were so good, we honestly said the food was probably the best food we had on our whole trip! It started off with a she crab soup which was yummy. Second meal was a salad with sweet salad dressing that was also great. Third meal you got to pick your entree, I did the braised short rib that came with mashed potatoes and green beans. My husband did the grilled salmon with same sides. Both were absolutely delicious. I could've eaten it all but wanted to save room for dessert. I did the chocolate torte and my husband did the cheesecake, again so delicious. We also added the bubbly package which was an extra $35 but since it was a special occasion it was worth it. There was live music the whole time too. A guitarist who played really great songs. Overall, highly recommend!

If I could go back with the knowledge we know now, I'd skip this cruise and dine somewhere else…read more We had a travel advisor plan our Charleston visit and I had to say this cruise was disappointing. We wish we got more information about the cruise before we booked. This company advertised "Charleston Harbor Luxury Dinner Cruise with Live Music". We shared a table with strangers. While they were lovely, I found that incredibly strange. It was incredibly awkward in the beginning as there was a huge gap between our ages. The environment was kind of sketchy. The inside of the boat was incredibly dated and cold as ice no thanks to the 10 ton mobile air conditioning unit they "attempted" to hide with a black curtain that was too short to hide the unit. To give credit where credit is due, the boat seemed clean. Including the chairs on the viewing deck. The musician was ok. We were facing him and couldn't hear him singing. We could hear the guitar a little, but not enough to identify the song. Our server seemed disinterested and absent. Dinner service took an hour and a half. The meal was borderline edible, with the only notable dish being the she crab soup appetizer. It was clear it was prepared hours ago and reheated. Dessert is not included and incurred an additional fee. After waiting 30 minutes for the dessert, we were pretty certain our server forgot. Awhile later, she came and found us on the viewing deck and presented us with a check for a dessert we didn't receive. She then told us it's waiting on the table for us. Did we enjoy our time... eh. But "Luxury" is a far fetch for this cruise. For $120, I'd skip it and dine somewhere else.
