We had a blast at the RiverDogs game! It happened to be Bark in the Park night-and even better, it was Pug Night. We had no idea when we booked our seats that we'd be in the designated pug section. I looked around and said, "I've never seen so many pugs in one place!" Someone behind us let us know it was a special themed night. The highlight was the pug parade-anyone who brought a pug and wanted to participate got to walk their dog around the stadium. We had such a great time, and our dog Luna did amazing! Apparently, every Tuesday is Bark in the Park, where all dogs are welcome. Each week usually features a specific breed, but dogs of any kind are allowed. They provide water bowls throughout the stadium and often have pet-related merchandise available. Oh, and the RiverDogs beat the Columbia Fireflies-perfect ending to a fun, pet-friendly night! read more

It's was a fun night at the Joe for Thirty Thursday. The weather was perfect for baseball and to top it off the Riverdogs took home the W. It was raining like cats and dogs on Mother's Day 2025! Now, I have never understood what exactly that expression really means, so in 2025, let's all start a new expression for very heavy rain. It was raining like bath tubs and water towers, that stuff really hurts! I was praying and hoping while driving all the way into Charleston that the Riverdogs baseball game would not be a rainout. After eating at Pearlz, we got to The Joe parking lot, waited fifteen minutes in our car, and it stopped raining. Hallelujah! Well, if you have not been to The Joe for a Riverdogs game, here is why we have enjoyed our multiple visits. Everyone from Steve in the parking lot to the ballpark greeter checking your tickets to John at the food concession stand, to Susan dispensing beer are all smiling, welcoming, friendly, respectful, and very helpful. They are all, hell bent on making sure you enjoy a great experience at the Riverdogs game. The food is very good, and no, I don't mean for ballpark food, it's very good food. Did you ever eat a smoked hot dog? I have, at a Riverdogs game, and it is good...od! Thanks, Uncle Eddy. Man, Yelp will let anyone in these reviews. All the folks here are so Family centric. We had elementary aged children walking from the Home dugout to the Visitors dugout before the game announcing each of their schools names that they attend. Some were waving, some walking fast, some shyly strolling, some were taking to their friends, some looked bewildered as to why they were there. The Charleston Riverdogs Fun Bunch had organized those same children and had them competing for prizes between innings, tossing baseballs into aprons, running baseballs between bins, and racing children's electric cars all down the third base line, and "the little blond haired boy" whose electric car would not start, you was robbed! All the while grins from ear to ear, not on one of their faces, but on all of those children, their Dad's and most especially on their Mom's faces. Man, that was great to witness as we were both chuckling, laughing and smiling from ear to ear as well. Their Mascot, Charlie T. Riverdog was outstanding not missing high-fiving, or bending down for a picture. He really looked for fans young, old, and in between, elevating their excitement by simply becoming part of their World for a few minutes. When he was beside my seat and two young boys were behind him waiting patiently to meet him, all I had to quietly say was "behind you", and Charlie turned hugging and greeting them both and those young children smiles lit up like the lights on Broadway! There was a Father, Mother, and adult Son sharing a hot dog and a beer in the row below us talking, laughing and smiling with each other. It all felt terrific, fun, happy, touching, and wonderful to watch these types of Family interactions everywhere you turned. I went to the Riverdogs Service Office which is the first window on your right as you enter the ballpark. I asked if they would post a Happy Mother's Day greeting for my bewitching, beguiling, breathtakingly beautiful lover and wife of forty-five years, wishing her a Happy Mothers Day from our two sons and myself. They were happy to do so and all of these greetings appeared on their right-center field electronic scoreboard between the fourth and fifth innings. And yes, the "Ah..., that was sweet, thank you Honey, along with a kiss and you guessed it, a big smile, made her day! There is not a bad seat at The Joe! If you want to do it Chicago Cubs style like Bill Murray (the Actor and Comedian) you may choose to relax with a libation on Murray's Mezzanine and watch our Riverdogs. Ok, ok, so how competitive is the baseball and how well do the Riverdogs play? 82 to 93 mile an hour pitches, very good defensive fielding everywhere. Home runs? Two, one from the Riverdogs and one from Columbia whose bats finally woke up in the seventh inning, I felt, due to our Riverdogs relief pitching. Score 3-2, Riverdogs Win! We came here for a work outing and thankfully got the Mezzanine because it ended up pouring rain. Very spacious, pretty cool once you get inside and there's a lot of food options that I didn't get to try. However we had food catered for our group. Honestly the food was very mediocre, I know it's cooking burgers and hot dogs for a big group but man the food was very low quality. The cheese you could not get because it was melted and stuck on each other, the burger was extremely dry I could not finish it. The pulled pork had potential but why no bbq sauce at least on the side? Outside of it being a pretty cool venue and the staff were extremely nice and helpful, I would've been happier with a warm pretzel. The bartender Allen was great! They do a great job with the food and drinks, and they always have great deals on Tuesday nights up can bring your furry friend, and on Thursdays, they have $1 beers, which is definitely worth a try if you're in town. I'm not a big baseball person, so I don't really follow the game, but the atmosphere and food are always good. I love grabbing a hot dog, and they have pretty good cheese curds. Their cut water orange drink is really good. They recently updated all of their food options, so definitely check it out. The tickets are pretty cheap. I think they're around usually $10 and parking can be a hassle, but there's lots of like street parking down the road so if you don't wanna pay for parking. Be mindful of the seating section where I posted photos - the sunshine can get strong so be sure to apply some sunblock, wear a hat, bring some sunglasses for UV protection. The Riverdogs and the employees that work at the stadium always do what they can to make the experience enjoyable with the exception of the concession stands. The beer stands were quick but unfortunately the food stands were extremely slow. So slow I got sick of waiting and just went back to my seat where my wife and daughter were waiting patiently for me to bring some food back. My wife could not believe how long the lines were to get food. While waiting in the lines trying to get food, I was looking at the prices for items and they did seem a little expensive. There's not a bad seat in the stadium, and the sunset over the Ashley River provides a beautiful backdrop for America's pastime. "The Joe" has plenty of parking, and reasonably priced at only $5 (free on Sundays). Tickets are inexpensive as well, and once inside, you have tons of concession options. You can even get adult (beer) milkshakes and vegetarian fare like black bean burgers. The park hosts dog nights, peanut-free nights, and sometimes has fireworks shows after. I'd recommend looking at the schedule of events to find which night works best for you. It gets hot and bright in the summer so be sure to wear suncreen! read more

I was instructed that any insurance beyond the basic one is unnecessary and "stupid." I of course will trust the moving supervisor in all of this when I am already spending a fortune to move. I will now not be compensated correctly in the hundreds of dollars in damage at the hands of the movers. There were such careless mistakes and actions taken that are now at my expense. This past weekend my daughter and I had a "day date" together watching the dogs. Was a great day! Not a bad seat in the house and kept my toddler on her toes. Parking is easy which made it great to attend. I recommend the beer float and the cheese fries! My daughter loved the ice cream and kids area with the jump castles. Prices better than the big leagues of course! The best stuff is on the way in, so better grab it before you get to your seats on the first baseline. It's a far walk with kids. My favorite summer pastime is coming to see the local RiverDogs play baseball! This Yankee minor league team has been home to Brett Gardner, Josh Hamilton, Aaron Judge, Alex Rodriguez, and many more. The stadium is in a convenient location on Lockwood Drive with lots of parking near by for a small price of $5. The staff works quickly and efficiently to get you inside and does a quick search of bags and a swipe with a metal detector. Inside the stadium is clean and has open room to walk. There's lots of food and beer vendors to pick from but bring some money. It's not Yankee Stadium prices but a beer will set you back $7-10 unless it's $1 beer night. This is a fun place to bring kids too. They have mascots and fun events on field between innings. The Citadel usually takes the lead for the National Anthem. My favorite part of this stadium is the seat prices! Season tickets are reasonable but if you buy last minute it won't be unusual to get front row seats for $16 each. I've sat in the box seats and in the bleachers and I always have fun. Bill Murray is a co-owner so you may see him around. Plan ahead, you'll pay more for parking than your ticket and the streets around the park do flood with full moon tides. Standing in front of a boarded up ticketing booth to log on their website, create an account with all your personal info, then finally purchase tickets and pay an additional 45% charge on top for the privilege of doing their work for them is a customer experience failure. My husband and I purchased tickets for the 4th of July game and fireworks. After a 2 1/2 hour wait/rain delay we had to leave. It was after 8pm when we left. We arrived around 5:15 to get a good parking spot. As A senior citizens it's difficult at best. I realize a rain delay can't be helped but when we asked for a credit so we could take a game in later on we were denied. It was a simple solution. I didn't ask for my money back only a credit and were denied. Riverdogs and customer service isn't important only the almighty dollar. We won't return. read more

Such a great venue for a professional baseball game or other event frequently held here throughout the year such as the Beer Festival. The stadium sits adjacent to the Ashley River so that makes it a very unique setting in my opinion. Many times they have fireworks too and to watch them over the water is very special. There are so many food and drink options at this ballpark. Not only do they have the standard "built-in" shops, but they also have "street vendors" set-up all along the main floor behind the seating areas. They have started having not only beer and wine, but now they also have Firefly and a few other liquor options available. Of course they have hot dogs and corn dogs as their main baseball fare, but nachos and pretzels also top the list. On a hot evening, enjoy a frozen drink to sip on and order some of Tony's famous boiled peanuts! Many nights will have a theme and freebies are always offered for dressing to impress. Look for Charlie the RiverDog mingling with the crowd, or even spot a celebrity on occasion. You know to whom I am referring. Bill Murray of course! There is ample parking in lots surrounding the stadium, but plan on a short walk however. Most of the seating is in the sun, so plan accordingly. You can always get up and walk around to get under one of the many covered areas. Bathrooms are centrally and conveniently located and have ample stalls to accommodate an arena of this size. They have done a great job at handling the crowds and reducing congestion in the common areas by spreading out the vendors. Every game night there is always kid-friendly. They have various games and other stuff going on for additional entertainment in case they get a little stir crazy by the speed of the game. There is fun music blaring when there is downtime and always other engaging conversation provided by the MC. A lot of local businesses sponsor company nights for staff and their families. Reduced tickets and special deals are pretty common. Overall, this is a top notch stadium that would not be expected in such a small town. I've always enjoyed a good baseball game. The stadium is nice enough and there wasn't any trouble getting to the restroom. The beer prices are high even for a game.
