They were very responsive when I made my original inquiries. I found them to be flexible and easy to work with. On the day of wedding, they showed up ontime and were very professional. We were very pleased with their performance. I would definitely hire them again.

He was a pleasure to work with leading up to the big day and onsite. Chris went above and beyond by learning our first dance song and making song suggestions for the father, daughter dance. Chris is a true professional that required no assistance or guidance throughout the planning process and wedding day. He was a trooper with the many song requests throughout the night and was the MC for the special moments (i.e. bride & groom entrance, cake cutting, dances, etc.). We were worried that our small wedding (21 people) wouldn't have much dancing but Chris kept everyone on their feet until the end of the night. We'd highly recommend Chris for your wedding or party needs!

They were to play during guest seating and the ceremony. Due to the rain that started at 5:30, they wouldn't play. Although, they were completely covered (which was stated as a need during rain). The wedding planner asked them to play although the guests weren't being seated (standing around due to delaying the ceremony). Once they agreed to play, it took another 15 minutes. We were also told it would be an additional $50 for every 15 extra minutes they were needed (I did know this was in the contract but it says nothing about inclement weather). In order to give my daughter what she dreamed I agreed to do that if needed. The musicians never said they were sorry for the problems. Also, we haven't been offered a refund for the time they did not play. I would not recommend them to anyone.

The husband and wife team of Mike and Lauren Williams are multi-talented and bring their wonderful love of performing to each and every event since 2007. Both classically trained violinists they both received their BA degrees in Music Performance from the College of Charleston where they met, married and immediately started their local music business ~ East Cooper Music in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Mike's degree includes a concentration in jazz violin which makes him a multi-talented performer for sure. His love of the electric violin adds a groovy beat and jazzy feel to his music. The couple prefer to hand-pick the best musicians in the Charleston area and are very well known around town. Palmetto Strings offers String Trios, Violin & Cello Duos, Guitar and Violin, Harp and Solo Piano just to name a few! At a recent wedding reception this summer I had a chance to hear the Guitar & Violin Duo featuring Mike Williams and his Dad Bob Williams. They added a perfect touch to the evening with their soft Pop and Classic Rock tunes and Jazz Standards. Palmetto Strings also assists with Ceremony Audio which is often forgotten by many hosting an event. DJ level speakers are available for dinner music based on the client's playlist. The Palmetto Strings website allows you to hear sample audio of what is in their repertoire. If you don't hear a song on their list they will gladly work to arrange songs for your special occasion. www.palmettostrings.com Wedding Wire and The Knot highlight Palmetto Strings with excellent reviews! Lee Edwards Entertainment was a complete disappointment and a frustrating experience from start to…read morefinish. From the beginning, it was clear that Lee operates as a "press play" DJ--if that's what you want, fine, but don't expect anything beyond that. We asked him to do a simple mix of two songs for our first dance so we could practice, and he said he "had to check his software" to see if he could do it. A DJ who can't mix two songs? Ridiculous. We ended up DIYing it ourselves with basic DJ software. Later, we decided to hire a legitimate DJ and requested a refund back in May for our September wedding. Lee gave endless excuses and delays, repeatedly asking for "a couple more weeks" over and over. Two months later, when I called one last time, his response was, "I'll see what I can do." If he can't deliver a basic service or refund money, it says everything you need to know about his business. We eventually recovered our funds via a bank chargeback, but Lee's handling of this process irreparably tarnished his reputation. Save yourself the headache--stay far, far away from Lee Edwards Entertainment unless you just want someone to press play on Spotify.

Our initial consultation was missed by about an hour because another appointment ran over. I understand things happen, but a quick message letting me know she was running late would have been common courtesy rather than leaving me waiting. I still decided to give her another chance, and we had our consultation the following day. Afterward, the contract was sent via text despite having my email, which made the process more complicated than necessary. I couldn't simply sign it in the moment; I would have needed to email it to myself and either print it or complete it electronically. The contract also did not originally include payment due dates, which I had to ask to have added. I explained that I was having a busy work week and would complete everything once I had time. A few days later, when I was ready to sign, the contract was no longer available in our text thread. I messaged asking for it to be resent and requested that it be emailed this time. My message was read, but I never received a response or another contract. It has now been a couple of weeks. As someone who intentionally tries to support Black-owned businesses, this was especially disappointing. Thankfully, I was able to find another Black-owned business to officiate our wedding, and the communication and professionalism have been a much better fit. I hate having to leave this type of review, but weddings are important events and communication matters. Between the missed consultation, contract issues, and ultimately being left on read when I was actually trying to move forward, I cannot recommend this service for a wedding based on my experience. Please do better with communication...and respectfully, if messages are going to be read without a response, turning off read receipts might be a good idea.

I'm not sure what prompted the change, but I liked the new venue, especially with the large stage. The vendors area included five delicious food trucks, including Roti Rolls and Gorditas Locas (best shrimp tacos I've had in awhile!). Other vendors had cupcakes, ice cream, and popsicles for sale, and of course plenty of beer, wine, and spirits for those 21+. A few booths had merchandise for sale, and you could learn about many LGBTQ+ affirming local and state organizations at their tables. The afternoon drag performances were a lot of fun and raised money for charity. Ava Clear was my favorite drag queen and had a great costume, and the announcers were good about promoting other local businesses that have drag shows to support them. He really goes above and beyond to make sure his clients are happy and enjoying their time on their wedding day. He took the time to go over the pronunciation of everyone's names before announcing them, triple-checked with us on what music to play and not to play, and managed to keep my first dance song a secret from me since my husband wanted to surprise me with it. The best example of him going above and beyond, though, was something I learned about after my wedding ended. During our cocktail hour, it started downpouring really, really hard. To the point where a tent gutter collapsed. Instead of waiting on someone else to come fix it, Jay grabbed a chair and started re-attaching it. (My wedding coordinator jumped in as soon as she saw it, for what that's worth.) He didn't HAVE to do that -- the rain and busted tent gutter wasn't impacting him, really -- but he wanted us to have a great wedding day without any issues. So, he pitched in where others maybe wouldn't have to get the tent fixed. Jay's top-notch. I highly recommend him and his services for any wedding or event music needs.
