If you are looking for a small item for the house out a flashy golf cart they got it for you. A festival won't be anything without food. There were rows of food vendors down both sides of Main Street with everything. We went with an empanadas and churros. The empanadas were absolutely amazing. Before leaving we had to finish up with fresh kettle corn and candied nuts. The only downside is the large crowds. If that's not your thing I would recommend arriving on Friday when the crowds are much smaller.

I believe there were approximately 45 vendors this year. Vendors range from a vast variety of food trucks, Jewelry makers, plants and floral, home decor, and local charities to include the animal society. There were so many food options to choose from ranging from funnel cakes to gyros and everything in between. There were some small carnival rides in the rear of the festival that might be nice for kids, and also picnic tables along the road to stop to eat or rest. Overall it was a relaxing stroll on a nice sunny day with a variety of foods/vendors to choose from and proceeds help to benefit the local community.

This is the closest festival you can attend to feel what it was like at ACL in the very early years. Bands selected were from indie-folk to indie-rock radio (Mt Joy, Flipturn, Amos Lee) & all the way to a couple of "old-people" bands w Counting Crows and Trampled by Turtles. No hip-hop. No DJ sets. Just solid alt-pop/rock, alt-folk, R&B (hey there m, The War and Treaty). This festival is produced by the company that does ACL and Lollapalooza, so they know how to organize a big show. I'm begging the production company to keep this festival as pure down the alt-folky, Americana, "classic alternative" lane as possible going forward. I will def come back whenever the lineup is as solid as 2025. All the festival staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Part of that is probably just the overwhelming hospitality vibe you experience anywhere in Charleston, but the High Water Festival seemed to put especially competent people in key public interaction positions. I've been to more than 20 festivals, but High Water was the best from organization, personal service and facility standpoints.

The High Water Festival is comprised of 2 stages with vendors, food + tents, free parking surrounding the area - depending on where you park it could be at most a mile. Your wristband once activated is your form of entrance which you scan after security. The event itself flowed nicely - I was surprised when the bands played right on time so kudos to the sound teams and engineering to make each set flow effortlessly. I've been to shows where there's a delay by a hour or so but these sets were punctual. Some random tips: bring sun protection because there's very little shade unless you find a spot by the water or more towards the outskirts of the field. The memorial area near the entrance is a nice quiet area for introverts that need to recharge from the energy of the crowds or folks that experience sensory overload. The most helpful tip would also be to bring your own empty water bottle. I loved how I could fill up at the several water refill stations to stay hydrated! If you can, eat beforehand unless you don't mind lengthy lines. I like how they tried to prevent that by spacing out maybe 3 of such tents throughout the field area and having the option to use your wristband as payment when you register a credit card with your band. I tried a King of Pop popsicle which was a nice treat to cool down with along the water. There are porta potty's as restrooms but these had no toilet paper or hand sanitizer so bring some of your own if you feel inclined. Overall it was a pleasant festival with scenic views along the water and a nice way to spend the weekend. I wouldn't have gone if it weren't for my friend! Hoping more performers down the line will grace Charleston with their presence.

This year was by far the best VIP experience yet! The free appetizers, ice cream, and mixed drinks were such a nice touch, and the improved shade coverage made a huge difference. We also never had a problem finding a table, and the bathrooms (always one of the big reasons we go VIP) were as great as ever. We're so happy they got rid of the drink tickets this year--it felt much smoother and less wasteful. The variety of food trucks was excellent, with something for everyone. Our group has our favorite breweries we look for every year, and the variety of swag did not disappoint! It also seemed like they didn't run out of beer this year, which has been a common complaint in the past, so that was awesome. We also loved the big screen showing the football game--lots of people seemed to enjoy that too. Overall, this year's Beerfest VIP was the best yet. We're already counting down to next year! The only thing I think they should improve is the parking and directions for VIP entrance. We were asking the volunteers and each person told us something different as we were walking from the ride share drop off.

Every PCC-hosted charity event I've been to has been well-organized, and Beer Fest was no exception. With five rows of vendors and breweries, everyone found a new to them beer or brewery they liked. You receive a mug when you walk in and use it to walk around the aisles of breweries and sample. Most Charleston breweries were represented, but you could also try breweries from around South Carolina and a few North Carolina breweries. I saw tents with hard kombucha, ready-to-drink cocktails, ciders, seltzers, as well a Fall beer flavors (hello pumpkin or Oktoberfest styles). Sour beers are my favorite, and I found no shortage of them. The sour from Sumter Brewing Company was my favorite, along with the Ginger's Revenge alcoholic ginger beer. The lines move quickly, and the small pours of the drink were enough for me. I saw a few tents run out of certain beers about 4 hours into the event, but even when we left, you could still find plenty to drink. Beer Fest had at least 10 food trucks with everything from smash burgers to pierogis to boiled peanuts. Even the vendors were high quality. With the event in September, we bought several Christmas gifts AND the weather was cooler than a summer event, especially in Riverfront Park. The ground was a little soggy from rain earlier in the day, but we avoided the showers and storms. This was my first Charleston Beer Fest, but I would return again and recommend it for both locals and visitors- it's a one stop shop to try many breweries and even cuisines for a low cost and great cause.

Still don't love it, but once you step foot on to the large open field, the music slowly growing in volume, rides starting to turn, yea, it does. A preemptive apology for only one food picture, it took all that I had within me to steer 230lbs of dogs from hyper induced scent stimuli tracking and tracing. The brisket, seafood, other dogs rear ends, they were in sniffing shangrala heaven from start to finish, so my time revolved around apologizing and avoided a second near miss face plant, twisted ankle or wrenched hammy due to an inordinate amount of these large grey outer space cosmic rocks that lay strewn across the entire perimeter. I'm thinking my movements resembled that of a one man and two dog drunkin' konga line. Second truck available -- Shrimp Po Boy, my kinda breakfast food. Eleven dollars -- a bit steep, but after a chatting up with the owner it all made perfect sense. Bread from New Orleans, local shrimp, you get the picture and that folks concludes my food pictures--made up for it with the successful truck pictures whilst battling the many adverse conditions. The weather pleasant, a layer or two extra was all I needed, a bit over cast but to drink and eat and frolic among the many tasty options in late January? No brainer. I chased the shrimp with a large black coffee from a crimson red truck (or was it an inflatable stand? I can't recall) shaped like a mug, then headed for the Bloody Mary booth and carefully double fisted a turn and onward to the Cuban sandwiches. But my walking pattern was all wrong and I then diverted to a one by one truck stop plan of attack. Music now growing louder, people now filling in faster -- so I thought it best to make haste, as I will here, as my arms lengthened now spanned from 35 and a half inches to an elongated 36 and a quarter. The center of the field was well set up nicely with a very long table and a few satellite tables scattered around the corners. Stuck at the far left was some corporate booths for phones and cars and such, along with some tee shirts, wood and local leather workings. And that about says it. Easy access on and off the highway, reasonable parking but it's what on the inside that counts and the 8th Annual Charleston Food Truck Festival was a wonderful event to be sure.

We went on Monday and it was busy but easy to walk through with minimal lines. They had a section with farm animals, which included cows, goats, sheep, bunnies, chickens, birds, donkeys and horses. It's so great that children can see these animals up close. The fair food is extensive, unhealthy and of course they will fry anything, but it's so much fun, especially if you're with a group and you can share the massive portions. I tried a lot of things that I had never eaten or even heard of before. The entrance fee was $15 and I think if you wanted to do the rides it's another $20 at the gate. it's not bad pricing considering parking is free and you have the option of not doing the rides I guess. The compound has many many bathroom facilities, it's clean with tons of trash cans and people sweeping and cleaning up. I have to say I was very impressed with that. So overall, the Fair is a fun family night out as long as you are aware and conscious of your budget. I thought it would be a cash only event, but the majority of vendors take credit cards. I think they add a 4% charge for using cards. However, good to know.
