Betsey decorated our AirBnB before we arrived with all of the decorations I sent her, she found an amazing balloon artist who did the coolest champagne balloon arch, fully stocked the fridge and planned a great boat day for us. Brandon was incredibly professional at every turn, even asking our preference as to how he should dress at our wedding. His pricing is straightforward (and he is worth more than he charges). I approached him with the idea of having music playing in two separate places at the wedding venue, and instead of turning me down, Brandon purchased new equipment to accommodate the request. The version of our first dance song that we wanted to use was from a television show and he was able to edit out the talking and background noise to make it work for us. I attended two Spoleto concerts at the Dock Street Theatre. The theater is very old and I loved its…read morecharm! From the outside, it reminded me of NOLA! The inside was warm and inviting. If you pass the box office and go right and head outside you will see a lovely courtyard where you can buy drinks and snacks. But please note, water is the only drink you're allowed to take inside the theatre.! Inside the theater, the seats were ok, but you can't expect extra comfort since I'm sure they can only do so much to improve due to its historic status. I even thought the bathroom signs were cute lol! I highly recommend checking out the theater if you are in town!

We had a small event on the Carolina Girl and overall it was pretty good. It's truly a unique…read morevenue for special events, sailing around Charleston harbor with ever-changing scenery. The boat has two main decks, one inside with air conditioning or heat and windows along both sides, and an upper deck that's open air with a canopy. There's also a very small room on the lowest level they call the Key West room that can be used for some things but is generally not available for most guests. The boat has two bathrooms at the back on the middle level. Overall the boat was clean and didn't rock much in the calmer inshore waters of Charleston harbor. I will say their contract is very rigid, giving almost no rights to the customer; everything in it favors the Carolina Girl, even if things don't go as planned and it's their fault or the boat breaks down. Make sure you review the bill carefully because they claim they don't provide refunds for overpayments, but they do have a mandatory tip which they ask you to pay before the event even happens. The captain was supposed to call out sights along our route (he changed the route without telling us) but he never did. He also cut our route short to make sure we returned to the dock on time, only to arrive 15 to 20 minutes early. The owner's wife, Courtney, was helpful in the beginning to get everything rolling. Our coordinator, Camille, was very strict and at times not accommodating, but was quite professional. Kayla was super friendly and helpful on the boat during our event. But be warned they can be very strict on catering, food options, use of their kitchen, music, glass on board, bringing your own drinks, location of the dinning tables and more.

The staff was super nice and announced the safety rules before the ceremony and from there everything was great. There was a bartender on the main and upper levels and there were several areas for seating and moving around comfortably even with so many people aboard. The food was set up buffet style and had something for everyone, chicken, eggplant parm, rice, greens, salad, etc. The lower deck was super comfortable with larger tables and nice and cool temperatures. Everything was really nice and organized and I believe that we were out on the water for about 2 hours. This was a great experience and of course very different from traditional weddings.

We have been bringing my daughter to Dance Moves of Charleston in Hanahan for about a month name…read moreand could not be more pleased in the results. She's only 2 years old, but is picking up some dance moves quickly at Dance Moves and it's improving her coordination. She loves going to class and loves her teach Miss Amy. The studio is nice and clean and all the teachers have been really friendly. I can't wait until they have their first recital. At first I thought it was going to cost a lot to get her dance lessons, but Dance Moves is very affordable. The fee is only $50 a month and that includes one class per week. The first month is $70 because it includes a $20 registration fee.
