I hired College Hunks to move my belongings, including a $4,000 armoire. Without informing me, the…read moremovers placed it on its side in the truck with no protective padding. The corners were damaged and the finish was ruined. Had they communicated their intent, I could have purchased protective materials or moved it myself--something I was later able to do on my own. I contacted the company and was called by a manager who immediately stated they had "zero liability." He claimed there was no reason to keep the armoire upright and that his team was unable to move it that way. I informed him the estimated cost for repairs would be at least $600. Rather than offering a resolution, he told me he was "at zero" and asked what I thought he could agree to, without proposing any offer himself. It was clear this call was to fulfill an obligation to respond, not to resolve the issue. When I expressed frustration and asked, "Why would you put the thing on its side?" he used that as a reason to disengage and end the call. Other items were mishandled as well--chairs were loaded upside down and arrived with their finishes damaged. The overall packing was careless. College Hunks has not taken responsibility for the damage. I was not given a chance to prevent it and was left with no support or compensation. I am requesting reimbursement of at least $600 to cover the cost of repairing the armoire. I am also requesting that the company review their training and communication protocols to prevent this from happening to other customers.

Based on originally what I said needed to be moved, they quoted me for 3 hours. My husband and I actually moved a lot of stuff ourselves. It should have taken much less. I was told that the time would be adjusted. When the two boys first arrived they had to assess the situation and then went down to get hand carts. Didn't bother taking a box with them. Then when they did grab boxes I could hear them slamming down 3 flights of stairs. Thank goodness I packed everything. I was told a couple days before that they would wrap things so I stopped wrapping items, but they didn't wrap my coffee table and I just recently noticed a chip. I firmly believe they purposely took their time to make sure they reached the 3 hour mark. Top it all off, loll my husband actually carried stuff down to try to get them to move alittle faster. When I first moved to Florida, I had two people, hired through U-Haul, that moved everything!!! Beds, kitchen, over 20 boxes, living room!!! They were done in an hour and had to go up 3 flights of stairs!!!!!!! With this move, I took all the kitchen stuff over a couple days before, my husband and I took the bed frames and a bunch of boxes. They did not have to move a lot of stuff. Needless to say very disappointed!!!

After the move, the driver calls me and tells me that they forgot to deliver my TV. So I had to stay home from work two days to get that delivered because he didn't show up the first day that he told me that he would even though I told him that I had to get to work by 2 PM. After I unpacked my stuff I realize that they also lost an entire bag of shoes. I called them to let them know that my shoes are missing. They told me they would call me back once they spoke to the driver, I haven't heard a word out of them since. This is absolutely crazy, especially since they overcharged me. I know they've been around for a while, but they're not doing good work. And I would not recommend them.

All of those prior moves would have received five stars for their reviews - professional movers who were always faster than their estimates. This move deserves zero stars. First move for me where I needed to store my stuff for a week in between houses. No clear explanation that the estimate I received was for only the first half of the move. Final bill was FOUR times the amount I paid for my last move. You may understand your method of operating but your customers don't do this on a daily basis. Care enough about them to make sure they completely understand how much they owe before the move. Movers were not the quick and careful movers of before. Plus I had to argue with the movers for several minutes when they finally got to my new house that they could NOT block my neighbor's driveway. The computer monitors they packed for me came out scratched because they were wrapped with the end of the cord against the screens. Constantly asked, "where does this go?" without removing the wrap around the furniture. Sorry, but I don't have x-ray eyes. Needless to say, I will NOT use Two Men & a Truck in the future.

I had a very disappointing experience with Grand Slam Moving & Delivery Services…read more I scheduled a delivery from Restoration Hardware with them in advance and we agreed on a specific day, time, and price. On the scheduled day they moved the delivery time eight hours later to Sunday afternoon, which completely defeated the purpose of scheduling ahead. I explained clearly that no one would be available at 3 PM, yet they assumed that 2:30 PM would somehow work instead. When I followed up Sunday morning to confirm the delivery, they again said 2:30 PM, even though I had already told them that time would not work. I asked if we could simply move the delivery to Monday (the next day) so someone could be present. Instead of working toward a solution, I was told they had "personal things to do." When you pre-arrange a delivery with a company and agree on the day, time, and pricing, you expect them to honor that commitment or at least work with you to resolve scheduling conflicts professionally. This level of service is unacceptable and extremely frustrating. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone.
