We were very pleased with the outcome. I want to especially recognize the stellar work done by Bryan Lamoureux, head carpenter. For years, I had nightmares that the second floor of the house was going to collapse. When Bryan took the kitchen ceiling back to the bare joists, he found out that somebody had cut massive holes in those joists to run a pipe through them. This made the house structurally unsound. Bryan showed us the holes and proposed a solution to make the house sound. The "bounce" that we experienced while walking around on the second floor disappeared, and so did my nightmares. Bryan is a superb young carpenter with old-school knowledge and values. Thank you, Bryan! I also want to recognize kitchen designer Jane Scammon. We told her what we wanted, and she immediately drew up an inspired design proposal for us. We bought tiles and cabinets based on her design, and we love the new look. Thank you, Jane!

The employees were all very professional and knowledgeable. They talked me through all of the issues that could be addressed to make my home more energy efficient and the steps needed to be prepared for the installation. They photographed all areas that were inspected before and after installation. They took care of all logistics and financial coordination of the program and laid it out for me in their co-construct website. They did a great job installing insulation in my basement and attic along with upgraded ducting as required. I paid half of the cost up front and the rest after completion. The whole process was relatively easy. I do wish that the co-construct website would go to a read only mode to access and review documentation, at least for a period of time after the work is complete, so I recommend downloading all materials while you have access. Turn cycle solutions was great to work with and I would be happy to work with them again in the future.

So Mr. Nick Couture and Johnny Hawkes of Crossroads came out and made good on their promise to…read morerepair the deck as it had been initially previously left last October. Most notable and dramatic is that they repaired the spa platform crossbeams to something that is definitely aesthetically better looking! They did a lot of cleanup work such as sanding off chalk, and pencil lines previously left behind. They cleaned off the residual cardboard from the sono tube support pillars. But I think one of the most impressive things of all is that they literally raked out all the residual stone, debris and shale that had been left under the spa and deck. My wife was much happier with this result, and I'm grateful to them for following through on these issues. I've posted pictures of the cleanup work that was done by them today.

Poor attention to detail and poor execution…read moreof nearly all finishing. mirrors hung crooked, electrical switches that didn't work, the floors were finished in the wrong color and frankly, we had to live there and could not afford to push a timeline back in order to rectify the hardwood throughout the entire first floor. cabinets and appliances were installed with scratches and dents. Granted they were replaced when we pointed it out but, most contractors would notice and rectify without the need for customer concerns and requests. very disorganized and one of the men working on our home flat out lied. the carpenter was excellent and the tradesmen were excellent but as far as the way this business was run, I'd say do just that, run.

ICS was responsive to questions/requests during bidding process to explain how they arrived to the…read moreprices they gave and considerations for construction. ICS was close on their predicted job start date. ICS has been doing a good job dealing with the start up of a contentious job site in South Boston. Communications with their clients has been professional, conciliatory and determined. ICS did a great job finishing up our project after all the delays. They went above and beyond to make sure all the little punchline items were completed. The building with the new Hardie board looks great and solid installation. I would recommend ICS to friends and family.

We recently bought a house and found we had some issues with the front porch roof taking in some…read morewater. We got the name of ICS from the previous owners as the people who did the roof initially. I called ICS and they send someone out to look within a few days. The person who came to take a look said they would have to send someone else to come take a look. That person never came. I've called ICS back a few times and left them a message. No one has ever answered the phone again or called back. I've moved on to another company at this point.

The new open space is just a joy to be in, even when we're not cooking, but even more so when we are. We are grateful for Schneidee's guidance through the design phase, recommending so much we would never have thought of ourselves, and generally being sure the new space would work for us. And it was tremendously comforting to have someone of John's expertise and resourcefulness guiding us through construction. Both Schneidee and John were a real pleasure to work with. We renovated our home and added a substantial wrap around porch. We worked with an architect to…read moredesign the porch, and had a really hard time finding a contractor that was responsive and seemed to want the job. Leader was a little more expensive than some bids we got, but I honestly think when changing the face of your house, you get what you pay for. Leader dealt with the City, the permits, the architect, and managed every detail of the project. Lauren dealt with permits and the front end of the project (because I knew nothing when we started all this), and Kaitlyn (construction manager) managed all the contractors and worked with us to deal with contingencies as they arose. We replaced the windows and door on the front of the house. We excavated 14,000 pounds of concrete stairs (layered for over 100 years), we replaced the siding on the front. We had roofers and electricians to deal with. The carpenters that built the porch (Zenon!!!) were masterful and executed the architectural plans perfectly. The structure and roof were completed in 6 weeks start to finish. I appreciate how communicative Leader is, I appreciate how carefully and neatly their contractors worked, I appreciate that every single person who worked on our property was incredibly professional. We absolutely adore our porch. It looks like a totally different house. We couldn't be more pleased with the work of this excellent company.

Since we didn't (gasp) and perhaps because our initial estimate was lower than their over the phone estimate, they didn't even bother offering to come out to give an estimate. I guess our money is not good enough for these people.

From Chris's first site-visit that included clipboard notations and photos I was impressed. The entire process was so well managed with timely notification of the project start, the multiple subcontractor visits, and handling of permitting and city inspections. What a pleasure to deal with a contactor who is inherently honest with great communication skills! The quality of the work was first rate, and any difficulties in the project were pointed out in advance to allow for the proper solution, and without additional cost. Chris used multiple subcontractors for all specialty work that included electrical, plumbing, sheetrock, plastering, and floor/wall tile. Ergo, the finished product was pure quality. The work space was cleaned daily and all workers were very respectful and polite. Assuredly I would use Chris for any and all future projects.

We hired Arch Painting to paint approximately 1/2 of our 20 year old house. They Did the job in…read moreSeptember, but we noticed peeling two months later. They returned in June of the next year to correct. Again, the paint was peeling after 3 or 4 months. They returned a 2nd time, but not until the following year. They repainted again with the same result. After that, they said the warranty was over and "there must be something wrong with Our house". No previous painters had this problem. If you are considering Arch, you should also know that the painting is not actually done by their employees. They sub-contract the work to dodgy crews with no Arch Signage on their trucks. I could attach more pictures, but suffice to say this was not in one spot but pretty much everywhere they painted.
