I was hoping to try Dr. Evans in hopes of making him my primary care physician. The only appointment they could give me was almost 2 weeks out, which was beyond my medication supply, but I decided to book the appointment anyway. I explained to his staff what medications I was on and wanted him to take over for prescribing. Then, I came into the office to fill out my paperwork in advance to be ready, and also worked hard on trying to get my records transferred to his office. I even booked a dog grooming visit for the same time as my appointment so my pooch would be taken care of during that time.
Well, the night before the appointment came and I got a call telling me that he would not be able to cover 100% of my existing needs so I'd need to find another doctor. Had his staff let me know this up front -- when I specifically made a point of asking -- I could have driven to Houston to see my existing doctor and my I wouldn't have been off my prescriptions for several days! Now it is going to be several MORE days before I can get down to Houston to see the other doctor where I will be off those prescriptions as well.
I have no idea why they had to wait until the night before my appointment to tell me he wasn't the right doctor for me but it has been a tremendous inconvenience, not to mention bad for my well being to be off these prescriptions as a result. read more
