On the first day of kindergarten I was able to walk her into the cafeteria. We were both unsure of what steps she needed to take to get her breakfast. I approached two adult women that were having a conversation and waiting for them to complete their conversation. Neither of the women greeted me or asked if they could assist me and my granddaughter in any way. After being ignored for several minutes I explained that this was my granddaughter's first day and if someone would explain where and what we needed to do. The two women spoke to me the same way they spoke to the children. They were both rude and abrupt. Certainly, not the welcoming environment for a new student or parent. I was then told that I had to leave. After leaving and discussing the rudeness of the two women in the cafeteria with my husband who was waiting outside the cafeteria, a gentleman that I believe serves as security approached me and my husband and reassured us that our granddaughter would be fine and he would ensure she got her breakfast and made it to class. Cantebury, you can do better. Please train your staff to be cordial to parents and students. Their behavior does not set a positive tone for children to start their day

Then a friend recommended MEEC, and we cannot thank the preschool teachers, Speech Therapists or adminstration enough. Every staff member is caring, professional and incredibly patient with the students and parents. Now our son is in third grade and he is thriving in school and social situations. He is now on track to not need Speech Therapy very soon. We also sent our daughter to MEEC for preschool and she didn't have any speech or socializing issues and we are so happy and lucky MEEC provided an excellent preschool experience. When our home district shut down and placed my two special needs preschoolers on a remote learning screen I knew they needed more. MEEC welcomed them in with open arms and they have blossomed in just these last two months. I only wish I had found them sooner. We have had problems in the past (we move every few years for job reasons) and my child will be attending Heritage in 2011! Does anybody know who will either teach him or in some cases, I know some schools have the child go to a special education teacher only when in need of extra help during his school week and I would love any feedback about the teacher(s) who are in this area of the teaching staff at this school. Are you familiar with their teaching methods with mild spec. needs kids? And if you know names please let me know as I would like to contact the teacher(s) sometime in the near future just to talk and get to know them prior to my son attending. i would not send my worst enemies kids here !…read more 1) this is the worst company i've ever worked for. 2) Management is not supportive of their employees and are filled with so much drama. 3) they'll tell you they're here for the kids but will turn around and keep a child abuser as a teacher for months and will only fire her due to state being called! 4) you'll never see management helping out with the younger kids downstairs unless state officials are around! 5) The way they treat their staff is aweful. if you haven't been there for years they will treat you like garbage. 6) if you walk past the staff room and the giant room you'll see a sticker that says "breastfeeding room" however they only out that up due to a complaint being filed to state. they never let their post partum employees pump but since state was called they asked their post partum employees to sign a form so they can appeal to state however nothing has changed with the pumping time. 7) they will talk about and bash your children when you're not around. as well as they will talk about your parenting skills. 8) working here will making you depressed and rethink ever sending your kids into child care. this place is sent straight from hell. and the managements mother is beyond messy! she'll tell everyone's businesss and smile in your face. it's family owned and they talk about being a family but once you really start paying attention you realize how awful this place is!
