Oh my goodness, what a delightful experience I had with this company. On 12/16/24 I called around 11am after spending three hours calling other companies requesting an Elsa performer for 12/17/24 for my daughter's tea party celebration, after many calls I finally found this company and I'm so glad I did. After getting many other quotes (some even charging a bit more than their usual due to a last minute request) I notice this one had the best price so I went ahead and booked. It was fast, smooth, and easy. Moving forward to 12/17/24 (the day of the event) the snow queen Elsa (impersonated by Aline) showed up and she was pure magic. My daughters both age 4 and 7 had such fun! Aline is so sweet, charismatic, heartwarming, and overall perfect for the role of Elsa ! My daughter (age 4) is greatly obsessed with Elsa she sees her every so often at DisneyLand and as many of us Disney goers we know the characters performances are unmatchable however Aline manage to provide the same level of personality and emotional a Disney princess representing Elsa would. Long story short - never ever hire Characters.io. We hired them for my daughter's third birthday party, which fell just two months after our house burned down in the fires. This was a very difficult time for our family to be hosting a party and splurging on this, but we did it to keep some sense of normalcy for our daughter. She is obsessed with Rapunzel. Here's the story. It started with the "actress" texting me, and spelling Rapunzel "repunzel" by the way, saying she was thinking "face painting, dancing, singing along, taking pictures and cutting the cake." I simply said let's skip face painting but the rest sounded great. She walked up wearing beat up sneakers that used to be white (see photos attached), with not one but two nose rings (see photo attached), wearing a bizarre anime backpack (see photo), and barely had any energy but said "high five" to my daughter. I tried to let it slide and thought maybe she was just nervous, but the tone never changed. She never once said anything cheery and did not engage with anyone. She did not dance with the kids, she did not sing with the kids, she didn't do anything but partake in the activity I had set out which was coloring some wooden wands. My poor daughter who was meeting her idol for the first time was confused and disappointed. Rapunzel wasn't happy, wasn't excited, didn't have any energy. She also was extremely inappropriate, talking to an adult guest about the college courses she's taking in front of four children, including my daughter, completely ruining their belief that she could actually be Rapunzel. The worst part of all of this - someone came up to my daughter all excited and said "did Rapunzel wish you happy birthday?!" and she sighed and said "no." Rather than enhance the party, she completely ruined it. I reached out to the company immediately, with a thorough email and photos. Their response two days later was that they would refund my deposit. I pushed back, saying if it had just been a mediocre actress that would make sense, but this was an embarrassment. They replied stating that I would have had to ask her to leave in the first 7 minutes of arriving in order to get a refund of the remainder. So my three-year-old daughter could watch me kick Rapunzel out? And like I said, I was hoping she'd improve. I called and spoke with a nice woman who said she understood and would speak to the owner of the company and ask her to call me. Two weeks passed and I never heard back. I called and emailed 11 times in those two weeks and finally today someone answered. She said the owner refused to speak to me and would not be providing a refund. Absolutely disgusting customer service. Avoid this company at all cost, unless you want to ruin your child's birthday, and potentially shatter their belief in make believe characters. read more

I hired this company to provide a Mickey Mouse character for my baby's special event, and the entire experience was a huge disappointment. From the beginning, there was no organization, no program, and no clear plan for what the entertainer was supposed to do. I expected them to engage the kids, play games, or at least follow some kind of structure, but instead it felt like they were just improvising with no effort. What made it even worse is that the performer spent almost half of the time not even wearing the costume. Imagine booking Mickey Mouse to make your child happy, and instead you get someone walking around out of character--it completely ruined the magic and excitement for the kids. For the price I paid, I expected professionalism, energy, and an actual plan, but unfortunately none of that was delivered. This service was careless and unprofessional, and I felt like they didn't take the job seriously at all. If you are planning a special day for your kids and want it to be memorable in a good way, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. We hired this company to have a performer play the character of Mirabel from the movie Encanto. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. I was told the performer would contact us on Friday before the event, but she never contacted us. We thought she is not coming. We had to contact the company multiple times then she responded after 8pm on Saturday day before the event. The performer only did one short activity with the kids and then spent most of the time following the birthday girl. She did not act like the character Mirabel. Many of our guests even asked, "Did you really pay for this?" because it looked nothing like what we were promised. I love that it is ran by Moms. Making my reservation was pretty simple and the people that assisted me were very friendly. What I really appreciated was that I had to change the date of my party at the last minute (due to rainy weather), and they were able to accommodate me very easily. Booked a Character for my son's birthday. The week leading up to the party I tried to get into contact with the chatacter to go over details and what to expect. Was promised I would hear later in the week. 2 days before the party I followed up again and was told the character would be in touch the next day. By noon the next (day before the party) I reached out again and was told by end of the day the character would be in touch so we could coordinate. The character didnt reach out until 11 p.m. the night before the party! I canceled because I was no longer comfortable working with such an unprofessional company or having someone over without a plan in place. Was berated for canceling and requesting a full refund and told that 11 pm the night before the party was a perfectly acceptable time for coordination details to be discussed. On top of that the character tried to change the time! We hired Ariel and she came in and talked to the birthday girl and gathered the kids. She let them pick the games like duck duck goose, Simon says. She asked if they wanted her to read a story but the kids said no so she watched them play in the jumper. Don't get me started on the "Facepainting". I had to ask multiple times to have her start it and the website said 3-4 min per kid and she spent maybe 30 seconds. I expected more for the amount paid.
