Good sandwich, marginal service, minimalist decor.
After a morning jog, hunger set it. "What's that sign ahead, I don't recognize it," I pondered. "Chapelo's" contrasted sharply from the newly painted white sign. I wandered into a small sandwich shop dominated by white space. "This is new," I declared internally. Excited about a new small business in Harrogate I attempted to strike up friendly conversation with the man behind the counter. Much to my dismay he was completely uninterested and preoccupied. I found this strange considering there were only two people standing in the small shop. After some awkward exchanges I relegated myself to silence, and checked to see if the business was on Yelp. "Ooooh this really is a new business, I will add it while I wait." I added the business, checked in, started a review, and still my panini sandwich was not finished... About 15 minutes later I got a dry apology, "Sorry for the wait, will that be all?" I sauntered out of the shop a little uneasy trying to understand what took so long, and why the man was so unfriendly.
I must say the sandwich hit the spot... not15 minutes worth of wait good, but a solid sandwhich nonetheless. read more
