I love the history of Arcada Theatre. It opened in 1926 on Labor Day weekend (their 100th birthday…read moreis coming up!). I remember when I was a kid we went on a tour here and the tour guide talked about a few ghost stories and myths about Al Capone using this place as one of his hiding spots. He took us backstage and in the basement. It was one of the most memorable tours I've ever been on, and probably what triggered my love for historical tours. I used to come here as a kid to see movies too. I have a fond memory of seeing the Wizard of Oz here (which I remember being projected onto a screen), and their old concession stand. Back then, Arcada Theatre was pretty simple and they hadn't yet updated it to be what it is today. Seeing the changes done to it have been a little heartbreaking for me, but I do appreciate that the owner has tried his best to turn it into something fun and still on theme with 1920s vibe. Now, there is a huge focus on live shows and entertainment. It feels like over the past 5 years, the live entertainment here has exploded and become so much more popular than it's ever been. The theater now mostly looks like a concert venue with big stage lights, speakers, and screens. There are also multiple different restaurants on site. It's a little disappointing whenever I see slot machines at a business, especially one with so much history, but oh well. I came here recently because I saw on their website they do a Silent Film series every month and I thought it would be fun to see at a theatre that started out showing silent movies! They were playing The Kid starring Charlie Chaplin. Before the movie, I purchased a box of their popcorn for $6. There was a live organ player called The Phantom that played during the entire movie, which I enjoyed. Overall, the experience was good but during the movie, it started buffering for a couple minutes and when it started up again, you could see the bar at the bottom of the screen to press play lol--it definitely took away from the experience.

It was a Tuesday afternoon when we went, so there were no shows going on. We were able to see the performance area, the balcony, and backstage areas. We also got to see the restaurants and bars on the upper levels of the theatre. Around every corner is another historic artifact or interesting thing to see. I can't wait to go back to see a show or eat at one of their restaurants. I highly recommend the Arcada Theatre!

The Windy City Bulls wore Philippine themed jerseys which was pretty cool. Throughout the night they celebrated or talked about the Philippines and the history. They opened with the Philippine National Anthem followed by the United States National Anthem. For the first 2,000 fans, they gave away a toy Jeepney and if you wanted a special hat, you had to purchase it with the admission ticket. The game was entertaining and the Bulls won! What I really loved about it was it was very kid friendly and all the kids loved it. The were really involved and were into the game! The big screen and score was not over the court like most arenas, but it was off to the side. The benefit of that was the screen was bigger than the normal over the court screen. Overall, I really liked the arena, the game and the way they made it kid focused. What a great way to get the younger kids to love Bulls basketball. Parking was free and it took sometime to get out but once you got past the main lot entry, it was smooth sailing (unless you were trying to get to the 90 Interstate. I would go to another game for sure! I highly recommend going if you have little ones that loves basketball.

Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Almost all had smiles and greetings as fans walked through the doors. I would like to think it was because EVERYONE was excited to see Rush. The bathrooms were very clean and orderly. The concession area was very busy but clean and lines moved very quickly. I only had popcorn and soda. The popcorn was perfect! Not too chewy, not too salty. It was just right. The venue had clear signage and plenty of staff so it was easy to navigate. There is plenty of parking nearby as well as hotel accommodations. Luckily, the prices didn't seem too high for a matinee but there was a service fee. I got an email for my purchase but the QR code didn't work in the email. Parking for this place was very easy. They have doors opening on both side so it could be confusing to some people. Inside the building is very nice. There is a lot of nostalgia photos and film relating items all over the place. Seats were comfy. It reclining for the legs, and head. Plus it is also heated seats. There is QR code on table to look at your drinks. And if you wanted extra service, there is a button on the front to call your server. Food at this place is always decent but I can tell the different between now and about 10+ years ago. 10+ years ago was great quality, and huge portions. There is an automatic gratuity added to your bill. Our server did let us know ahead of time. I do feel there are pros and cons to this. It is nice to be auto included since Ive had problems in the past trying to read my receipt during the movie. However, the incentive to go above and beyond is little gone. Part baseball, part dance, part gymnastics. I went to the Wintrust stadium website to check if there was anything to know before the game. For boomers games, there is no charge for parking. However, we didn't know until we pulled up for our game it cost $20. They only inspect larger bags. Players wander the stadium to interact with fans. Merch and concessions are reasonable prices. They have a large selection of craft beer. Bathrooms were spacious, but I felt the women's bathroom smelled. The crowd was very pleasant and respectful.

Really appreciate the variety of seating options. Parking is ample and free, but getting out can be a pain for busier days. For that July 4th show the fireworks were great, but it took us an hour to get out since everyone was leaving at the same time and it was a packed game. Overall we'll still look to come back here for more games in the future, but may look to sneak in some food in our kid's wagon coming in.

Plenty of seating, although for some reason many sections were empty/closed off to fans. Lots of food and beverage here, but my gripes are no cash, only cards. Not a fan. As for beer choices, it's all light beer. Mass produced Bud products, which I would rather drink tepid pond water. Parking - unless you arrive very early on a Nationals weekend, you'll be parking far away and walking a long distance. Even handicapped. No shuttles to be found anywhere. Food prices are a little high for burgers, sausages, etc. but what isn't nowadays. (Example $12 for a footlong corn dog. $15 for a ten inch Italian sausage. $8 for beers) As I said earlier, lots of walking. We parked on one side of the track and our seats were on the other side; meaning a long walk all the way around the track. One nice thing is you can walk all thru the pits and meet drivers and crew. Take pictures, etc. Oh, one more gripe was I could not reach anyone at the track via phone or email to ask questions. An 800 number directed me e to be a NASCAR ticket service. They gave me another 800 number which referred me back to the other number. My email I sent was never answered. All in all, not a completely bad experience, but it could be much better. Bring hats and sunscreen! You can park and tailgate if you wish.
