I think it's really hard not to leave with something. Parking was a b!tch, not gonna lie but after we circled the block, we got one. The place is huge and I was actually really impressed with each artist's area. The bazaar does a really special job of merchandising the wares in a way that makes them stand out and feel special. The place was packed and while I didn't need anything, I'm planning on going back on Christmas Eve to get some Austin keepsakes since this is my last year in the state. I am on a no buy this year but I would easily find all my gifts here and some for myself too. I bought some nail polish since I'm a nail technician but was introduced to some amazing brands that I can buy any time.

A05 gallery features work from a variety of artists in so many mediums. Dr. Seuss collection is one of their consistently highlighted pieces. In addition, they also have a Disney section. The key thing I like most about this art gallery is the uniqueness of the pieces - from African inspired pieces to Austin-centric pieces. There are works of art portrait-like to many items that are abstract, my personal favorite pieces of art. Today, I wanted to see if they had any lacquered pieces. The ones on display were of Marilyn Monroe and Madonna. Not sure I want to view these ladies every day... Smile. It was great to see Todd again, the manager of the store. He reminded me that they were open 7 days a week and that they had more pieces online. Todd is always so pleasant to talk to. Another joyful aspect of visiting A05 gallery is that you do not have any high-pressure salespeople putting you in a chokehold trying to sell you something. Some of their art pieces are quite pricey, and some very affordable. Net, net, I love frequenting this gallery.

Everything was clean and organized, which made it easy to just relax and focus on learning. The instructor was fantastic--super patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging. I came in with zero experience, but they explained everything step-by-step and made the whole process feel approachable. Even when my piece started off a little rough, they helped me turn it into something I was actually proud of. Using the pottery wheel was definitely the highlight. It's a bit challenging at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's incredibly fun and even a little therapeutic. The class was paced perfectly, so I never felt rushed and had plenty of time to practice. The atmosphere was another big plus. Everyone was friendly, and it felt more like a relaxed, creative hangout than a formal class. It made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Glazing the pieces was such a fun final step, and seeing the finished product after firing was so satisfying. I honestly didn't expect to end up with something I'd actually want to keep--but I love it! Highly recommend Feats of Clay for anyone looking to try something new, de-stress, or just have a fun, creative experience. I'll definitely be back!

They had the novel idea of finding used and old frames and matting and framing art for relatively cheap. I once paid $200+ to frame a piece of art at Michael's - NEVER AGAIN! You supply the art, they work with you to pick out an awesome used frame and then you pick it up in a week or two. They have taken on specialty work, framing a huge piece of art for us that now hangs in our bedroom. The owners are young, creative and very friendly. For an average sized poster frame, you can walk out here for under $40. You are welcome.

I've taken a few classes here and if you've ever been interested in stained glass or fusing (or if…read moreyou're skilled already and need to buy glass/supplies) this is the place to go! I tried a one time class (3 hours) in the winter and made a snowflake and it made me want to try more classes out and learn how to do bigger pieces- and they have a lot of class variety and dates. I did their 6 week copper foil class and then a 4 week stained lead class. Kris and Lisa are both amazing instructors! I learned so much utilizing the two different techniques, and they're so helpful and knowledgable- always making themselves available to answer any questions you have. You can also use the workshop space outside of class time if you signed up for the 4 or 6 week classes (call ahead and make sure no other classes are going on). I haven't been able to do any fusing classes yet but I hear from everyone who has taken any that they're so fun. They also do repairs and sell stained glass pieces inside- They got it all!
