As a music venue it's great with modern design and acoustics. However, as someone who lives in the neighborhood, the theater has created more noise, parking issues, and trash (e.g. empty alcohol bottles from their patrons left on our lawns, as well as cigarette butts, wristbands etc). They also seemed to have stopped some of the earlier efforts to encourage non-automobile transportation (like the SABA-sponsored bike parking). I've attended a show here early on when it opened and parked my bike, but have not seen any more bike parking efforts. I wish the theater would do more to **clean up after themselves** or their guests for the neighborhood (such as a courtesy pick of the associated trash in a one block vicinity after a show). The additional trash, noise, and parking issues are a DIRECT result of the venue (not here before it existed) and Channel 24 showing some effort or courtesy for the neighborhood would be welcome. Beautiful venue! I hadn't seen my favorite band in Sacramento since 2014 at Ace of Spades, so I was especially excited to catch them again, this time for one of their two sold out shows at Channel 24. This is a newer venue and it's absolutely stunning. The layout is mostly GA, with some reserved balcony and ADA seating, definitely something to keep in mind when buying tickets. There's also a standing balcony on the second floor that's first come, first served, which is a really nice touch. If you arrive early, it's worth grabbing a spot up there. The smoking patio is unique, though you can't bring drinks outside (understandable). That said, people were leaving their drinks on a table near the entrance. Weirdly trusting lol I arrived after the opener, so getting in was a breeze, no line at all. ID check was quick and efficient, and everything felt well organized. The bathrooms were clean, and with 3 bars, getting drinks isn't an issue. The merch line looked intimidating but it moved surprisingly fast. I took public transit but reading alot of gripes about parking. There's a reasonably priced lot right across the street, plus plenty of residential street parking nearby. The only downside to the location is that there isn't much in the immediate area for a pregame. Very few bars or restaurants within walking distance. The highlight of the night was definitely the visuals. The lighting techs did an incredible job. Honestly honestly, night and day compared to Ace of Spades. Was one of the lucky people to be there for the opening day of Studio 24, their add-on ticketed space with its own bar and bathroom space. Staff were friendly and helpful, the drinks were good - the pineapple Negroni was pretty tasty and enjoyable. Opening day meant there were some logistical issues getting the place going, with different answers to basic questions given depending upon who you asked. The ticket also granted access to the balcony. The balcony space had a good video but the little rail to settle your drinks only worked well for things in small cups. I got a water and it felt like it was a risk to have it on the rail since if it fell it would hit someone on the head. All in all, decent night! read more

I recently attended a concert, and was pretty impressed on how well the venue was put together! We missed the opener and by that time the line to get in was non-existent. Easy breezy getting in. Once inside we had a couple of options for GA on the floor and on the balcony. The way the balcony is setup is pretty cool. It's standing bar, so if you are able to snag a spot up there, you won't have anyone in front of your or behind you. It's three levels I think, so get there early if you can to grab a spot. Since we were late, we ended up on the floor and we had plenty of room to enjoy the concert. I thought the sound system was solid (not too loud) and the lighting was done very well. It's intimate and you are able to view the artists from any area. The merch table area was pretty small, but the line moved pretty quick. Overall, a really solid venue. I've had the opportunity to see several shows at Channel 24, and it's honestly been a seamless experience each time. From scanning IDs, scanning tickets, occasionally getting my phone locked into a pouch per the artists request, and getting my bag searched, I've never had longer than a 10 minute wait to get inside. I usually bring a refillable bottle, and they have two fountain stations on the first floor by each door. Bathrooms are also kept clean throughout the shows, and the merch line is tucked against the wall so the crowds can stay moving. As a shorty, I really like the upper levels. It's largely standing room unless you upgraded for a seat, but on any of the three upper levels, there are plenty of unobstructed views and room to dance. Security in the front row sometimes passes out water to those at the rail, but not at all shows. The shows I attended all started on time, though the start time may change from the time you buy your ticket to actual show day. The sound system has also been consistently good - especially with bass heavy shows I've attended. And the lasers are 100/10 (but will depend on your artist). I like that there bars inside (lower level) and outside the main room (upper level), and there's even an outside patio if you need fresh air. I hate that canned drinks are like $20 after tax and tip. And public transit is not really an option, like the venue pushes for, because shows typically end an hour after the last train. Parking through the venue's partners is atrocious ($30? For a 4 hour show? In Sac?), and the neighborhood becomes a madhouse at midnight when everyone is let out searching for their rideshare. The neighborhood surrounding the venue is definitely impacted by this, newly installed 1-hr parking signs be damned. I'm grateful for Channel 24 joining the entertainment scene, and look forward to more artists making their way to our city! read more

It feels modern but also has a sort of charm that is needed for a divey venue. There are no bad viewing angles here! The "pit" is all standing room only in the bottom. The bars are streamlined and modern. I am so happy that Another Planet Entertainment (APE) has a venue in Sac. Once inside the hall, there are standing balconies, I believe 3 of them and then the floor. We were on the floor close to the stage. By the time we got inside the balcony spots were all taken. Get there early if you want to be on the balcony. The sound system was great. The lights were fine. I wasn't a huge fan of the lighting at our show but I imagine it was the bands design choice. We visited Channel 24 for the first time on Friday to see Durand Jones and The Indications! It was a sold out show, but some how it didn't feel super crowded. The security line moved super fast, so did the bar and merchandise lines! This show was General Admission with a small VIP section and being as I am short, I did have a hard time seeing the stage at times, but the sound and lighting setup were so good! Their audio was some of the best I've heard inside a venue! I don't believe that they serve food - I didn't see anyone eating, but their drink prices weren't terrible either. I was just impressed with the vibe of Channel 24 and it felt like they genuinely wanted to show people a good time rather than charge people and arm and a leg for everything! Highly suggest taking Uber or park further away if you don't mind walking! I will be back in December to see Josh Johnson! Check them out! read more

I don't frequent a lot of concerts/music venues but had a great time seeing Jesse McCartney at Channel 24. My sister and I arrived close to show time and there was hardly a line to get in despite it being a sold out show. Ticket scan and security was super quick! There's restrooms upstairs and downstairs. My friend was able to snag limited balcony seats for us and it was worth the upgrade to not have to stand for 3 hours. The view was great from the balcony! Music was loud and I wish I thought to buy earplugs. Highly recommend either parking further away, carpooling, rideshare, or light rail as their website suggests. We finally saw a band at the new local venue! We went to see We Came As Romans, and it didn't disappoint. The seating was nice, personally I wish there was more seating than the ~200 seats on the upper level, but the balcony leaning section would probably be ok too. If you're interested in someone coming through you might just want to buy tickets as early as possible if you want to sit down, as those will likely be sold out quicker than most. Overall the venue was cool, short time to get in, the sound was really good, and the facilities were nice and clean. I would say the biggest downside are the expensive drinks but I don't think anywhere has cheap drinks at concerts unfortunately. Also this specific show had two separate merch booths, one upstairs and one downstairs, but not sure if every performer will be able to do that. read more

Channel 24 allows smoking indoors?? That was my main concern about this venue. Not only was it incredibly hard to see the performers (shout out to Empire of the Sun) in this brand new music venue, the amount of guests smoking vapes (both nicotine and cannabis) was unbearable/overwhelming. Can this be prevented at all? Shame on the visitors for smoking in a brand new venue. My friend who has lung problems left wheezing from how much smoke was in the air. As I mentioned earlier, there is zero slant in this venue. You can barely see the performers because the stage isn't elevated much and the floor is flat. Wish they had modeled this venue like the indoor venue in Wheatland at the Hard Rock. Besides those two glaring issues, the venue is overall nice and new (not for long with all the smoking allowed). The visuals were amazing for Empire of the Sun and the volume clear (bring earplugs because it felt extra loud). Drinks are expensive (as to be expected), about $30 for two hard seltzers, but plenty of bars to order from. Bathrooms were fine (people smoking in there as well). They haven't limited their bag policy to clear bags yet, but I expect it soon. Getting into the venue was fine, but getting a 21+ wrist band was disorganized (try and do this like Ace of Spades before we get into the venue?). Overall, lots of kinks and only time will tell if they get resolved. I hope they do because there are plenty of concerts I want to see there. read more

I have only been to Channel 24 once for a show, but it was a decent experience overall. I had read that parking was challenging so my husband and I parked a few blocks away and didn't even bother trying to find something in the vicinity. I think the premise of having the light rail station right there would help deter some of the need for parking but it all depends on who is attending the show. The venue itself is very clean and modern and I appreciated that there were multiple levels to the standing balcony. I'm reserving my full judgment of this venue until I have another opportunity to come back and see an artist I really want to perform here. I would love to see some more middle of the road artists come through because most of the lineup I saw was pretty obscure. read more

Recently attended a concert at this new venue and had an amazing time! My friend and I parked a little further away (maybe a 5 min walk) so that parking was only $5. There was parking right across the street for $35 which is insane to me. Just park a little further away and walk. Especially since it's so hard to get out of that small lot at the end of the night because everyone is leaving the venue and lots of pedestrians. The venue itself is nice and clean. Security and ticket scanning outside was so quick! Women's bathroom line was long but still went pretty fast. It's all standing, except for some seats at the balcony which is saved for ADA. We went inside about 40 mins before opener started and we were able to get a good spot. Music was loud and clear! I've been wanting to check out Sacramento's new entertainment venue, Channel 24, since it opened and I finally got the chance when Ziggy Marley came to town on Thursday. The show was lit, and the venue itself is impressive. Everything is brand new, and the sound system was superb. I appreciated the fully stocked bar, and the bartenders were able to handle most requests. The bathrooms were clean and had enough stalls to keep the line moving quickly. The concert area was standing-room-only, though there was a roped-off section on the side with about 20 folding chairs. I wasn't sure if that area was reserved for VIPs or ADA seating. There was also an upper level that looked like it was standing-room-only as well. Channel 24 reminds me of Ace of Spades, but it's larger and more modern. What I enjoyed most was that no matter where I stood, I had a clear view and could hear the performers well. That said, I'm not the biggest fan of standing for the entire shows, especially during intermission. Most reggae concerts promote standing and dancing so I wonder if Channel 24 set out rows of chairs/ seats depending on the artist? read more

Channel 24 is Sacramento's newest concert venue! I had the opportunity to get an inside look at Channel 24 before they opened to the public during their open house. Inside is very spacious, and the maximum occupancy is 2,000. There's some balcony seating available, but most of it is standing room both at the GA floor and balcony levels. All standing room is first come, first serve and I'd recommend the corner spots on the top level balcony for the best views. Channel 24 has two full bars on both floors and a second, smaller bar on the first floor. They have a few signature options with venue prices, so I'd recommend getting a drink around the neighborhood. I have a feeling that Round Corner will be seeing a lot of foot traffic soon! Pro tip: Reserve parking ahead of time. Take the light rail to avoid it, and please be courtesy of the neighbors. read more

The line to have your bags and your tickets checked is an uncovered area that may be a concern if it's raining or cold once I got in there is a lot of stairs and there is an elevator available. The stating is very limited to the upstairs area. The vibe was great Ziggy Marley and burning Spears. Reggae concert was wonderful. I enjoyed my time. I was here recently to see Josh Johnson. It was my first time at the venue. I didn't quite know what to expect. It's definitely a no frills warehouse-ish venue. They have a bar. There's no food you could get chips which was a bummer because we didn't have time to get dinner before our show. The floor seating was comfortable. I did feel a little squished next to the stranger to my left, but it wasn't a big deal. The price was right for the ticket so I don't think I would have wanted to pay more in such a confined space. It's always good to have more event spaces in the 916 and I know they bring in a variety of talent. Came here for a comedy show on Friday night. The venue is huge and spacious! I arrived right on time so I didn't have time to walk around much other than to use the restroom and grab a drink at the bar. Restroom was clean and well maintained. There were 2 bars but the one downstairs near the entrance was packed, so I went upstairs and was helped right away. They allow 2 drinks per person which was nice so I didn't have to leave my area once I was seated. I got really good seats and didn't realize if you get a table seat, the servers come down to take your order, so something to think about if you come here for a visit. Service was great, servers are really nice! I'm so glad a got a table seat cause I didn't have to keep getting up to let people get up to go to the restrooms/bar. Great show and would definitely come back again. Only thing I will mention is parking was kind of hard to find. There is a parking lot that was charging $30 nearby but I drove around a few times and got lucky with a spot a block away on the same street so just keep that in mind if you come on a Friday/Saturday. read more

About time Sacramento got a mid-sized concert venue. Despite the well-documented parking issues and lack of options to eat and drink before or after the show in the area, Channel 24 lived to the expectations and is very welcome addition to Midtown area. Everyone who's been to Fox in Oakland will not have a problem recognizing the similarites. That is because both Fox and Channel 24 are ran by the same promoter and share a lot of the same design features. The acoustics and sound quality is very good and the view from the floor, even the back of the room, is intimate. I'd say about 80% of the approx 2,000 capacity is on the floor, with reserved (ticketed) seating on the center balcony upstairs, and some limited GA balcony on the sides. We saw Jack White on his second night, and the concert itself was all I could hope for. Unfortunately, the balcony GA spots were all already taken before the opening act even started, so the floor was it for the night. I couldn't help but notice that it would be nice if the stage was a little higher, but it will probably not bother taller people. However, that's not me. The event staff I interacted with were all curteous and the lines were moving fast with no issues getting in. The drinks are pricy and the beer selection is fair at best, same as at Fox. If there is an area that needs improvement, that would be it. If paying $15 for a beer, I'd expect something beter and/or more local than Lagunitas or Sierra Nevada. We had a great time with Jack White and can't wait to see another show at Channel 24. Looking at the acts that are already booked, there won't be any issues getting to the 2,000 capacity on nightly basis. It's safe to say that Channel 24 and Sacramento are a perfect match. read more

*CH 24 is a cashless venue* I was hoping for more from a venue that was built from the ground up. There are VERY limited seats. There is a small section upstairs, but that's it. The rest of the upstairs area is standing room only. There are two levels where you can stand against a rail. On the right side anyone can stand at the rails on both levels. On the left side, you can only stand on the rail on the upper level, the lower is reserved for VIPs I believe. The first floor holds the most people and is standing room only. The first level is one level, so if you're short, you're out of luck. I wish there were two different standing levels on the first floor so more people could see. Security is great, they have the metal detectors you walk through with your bag. The security only looks in your bag if the detector goes off, which makes the line move quickly. Merch is downstairs near the staircase, and there might be a second merch table upstairs, depending on the artist. There is one bar upstairs. On the first floor, there are two bars inside, which is nice because you don't have to leave to get a drink. There is an outdoor smoking area on the second floor, but you can't take your drink out there with you, you have to leave it on a table inside (probably so people don't throw their drinks). The stairs aren't carpeted, so there's a lot of liquid from people spilling their drinks. The staff work hard on cleaning up any spills. There is also an elevator you can take to the second floor. There is a coat check upstairs, I'm not sure how much it costs. There are no gender neutral restrooms, and there are not many stalls. There's only 6 stalls in the women's bathroom upstairs. You should go to the restroom when someone is playing, the lines are long during breaks. Street parking is a no-go. The city changed all the signs around the venue to 1-hour parking only, so you will get a ticket if you park on the street. They try to push taking the light rail to the venue, which is great since there is a stop right in front. However, you have to find a different way home because the light rail stops running before the show ends. You can pre-pay for parking through the CH 24 website or at parkwhiz.com. There are quite a few lots around the venue, and they all vary in price. The venue is nice because it's new. I would have given 2 stars, but the staff are excellent, so I gave it 3 stars. I wish the layout were better and there were more public transportation options. APE owns the Fox in Oakland and the Greek in Berkeley, I much prefer those venues. read more

Probally one of the best concert experiences I've had. I saw Djo there on the 18th and the energy was great! Loved the setup on stage, the lighting was impressive and was wide so you could see the whole band very well. I got lucky and was at barricade and it seemed like despite it being a sold out show there was plenty of room for everyone. It didn't feel like we were all squished together in a tiny box. The bursts of ac were great too, compared to other venues where I'm just hot and gross all the time during the breaks I felt a great temp. Tbh even if I ended up in the back on balcony I feel like the view would have been great! It's designed very well so that there is actually no bad spot in the house. The acoustics were amazing too, not overpowering and so clean. I didn't feel like my head was gunna explode from being that close to the stage!! My only negatives were 1- the line management was a lil messy and confusing but they fixed it. 2- my friends said the bartenders were rude to them and very judgy. 3- parking (not the venues fault at all) is insane lol. I packed at the lot next to the venue ($30) and they had cars double parked ._. Like blocking other cars in which is very messed up in my opinion. There really isn't much else nearby cause it's neighborhood and I've heard people get tickets there if u go early. Next time will def look into the train since there is a stop right next to it. Came here first time for Madness on 5/14- allow me to share my experience so you can know what to expect. Parking- got to the venue 20 mins before doors opened, and were happy to see a parking lot right by the venue for $20 (first photo). A Wednesday mind you so maybe weekends you may want to get there earlier. This was after we first paid for a spot on 1624 22nd St thru the website but, when we got there, didn't realize it was an abandoned lot. Didn't feel comfortable going there and street parking had the app to download but, wasn't sure with paying and it expiring during the show, so will stick to the $20 one with security. Doors opened not at 7, but made it inside at 7:20 being 30th in line. Took a spot in the balcony which was super easy to walk to and claim a spot. Best spot in my opinion. Also the patio outside the top was nice with plenty of bathrooms and drinking fountains! Bars were busy almost the whole night and the only food I saw were potato chips so be aware. Also really cool lights/ sound and as they've mentioned... the staff have all been super nice and helpful. I'll gladly go back to another show! read more

Wanted to see Jack White in a venue we hadn't been to before--when the presale notification arrived, we were in. We arrived early, parked and walked a few blocks to grab some dinner. Security was speedy. Staff were super helpful and nice. We had reserved seating which was comfortable. Love the set up for general admission. Restrooms and bars on both levels along with an outdoor balcony. There was a seating area upstairs as well. Leaving the venue was one of the best operations I have ever seen. Nice venue not really a bad seat in the house, great sound, they have a bar with chips. The restaurants in the area were lacking. The paid parking next door across the streets from the venue is convenient on arrival but a true nightmare to leave, you will not get out of there I. Under an hour, zero organization, structure, leadership, common sense, planning on the parking, their only care is overloading the entire lot to get every single dollar possible. The venue is 4 stars, but due to parking I give one star because that ruined the entire experience and this review needs attention because of the terrible parking conditions. read more
