We had a very poor experience with another company when researching windows and installation and…read morewere a bit cynical of contacting another business. However, the process of obtaining a quote was indeed as easy as Zen Windows website makes it out to be; check out their website and watch the videos. I completed their form with the number of windows, approximate size and the requirement that the windows must meet a minimum efficiency. A reply was quick and thorough and above all easily understood and answers to questions were immediate. Dennis provided all the information needed should a permit have been required. Once accepted, Kevin came out within a few days to take specific measurements needed for ordering the windows. Within just over a month, we received a call asking if the installation could take place within 48 hours as they had an opening. Ed, Jimmy and Daryl were the installation crew who arrived promptly and you could not ask for a more conscientious and professional team. They seemed to get along and worked well with each other. Care was taken to protect floors and carpet, the installation and operation of the windows was explained, and clean up was meticulous. I had planned to shampoo my carpets after they were finished and Daryl did such a good job of cleaning up the floors I did not have to vacuum first! We had 6 windows replaced and opted for the Endure EN600 series double hung, Energy Star Certified windows. These windows were installed on a warm day in rooms that get the afternoon sun and it was immediately apparent that the sun gain was much lower than the previous windows. The wind is gusting today and there are no drafts! The total cost was a bit above some of the other estimates but after our previous experiences as well as the ease of the ordering process, the personable and professional installers- much less the quality of the windows- it has been well worth it.

Their seasoned installers were very professional, prompt, and respectful of our home. They worked hard to replace our entire two story home in one day before bad weather was supposed to hit the next day. We feel like we got a great product that will last for many decades which also has a great warranty. I would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting the best customer service and no pressure sales with a great buying experience.

I didn't get windows from this company but I got weird "vibes" from every interaction I've had with…read morethem. They seem to insist that both you and your significant other be present for the inspection, although I have no idea why that even matters. We scheduled an inspection on the weekend so we could both be present and then when the inspection date came around they cancelled saying that they were "all booked up" or something, as if I wasn't the one that booked them. Why schedule an inspection time if you can't keep it? When I rescheduled for another inspection I tried to push them a little on the significant other thing so they would agree to schedule it during the day sometime. So I told them that I live with my partner but I solely own the house and that we aren't married, but the guy on the phone again just avoided giving me an exact reason why we both had to be there and we scheduled for another weekend. Today, the day I'm writing this, they called to confirm the inspection appointment tomorrow and asked me if it was an insurance claim, which it was, and then said something about how they weren't the best company for that because they don't provide the full scope of work to be done for the insurance company. When I asked them if that meant they weren't showing up tomorrow they pretty much said the exact same phrase back to me. I'm not *really* sure if that was them saying they weren't showing up tomorrow but it seemed like it; I guess I'll see tomorrow. What a weird company that seemingly will avoid any possibly confrontational topics about how/why they do business the way they do and only give you robotic, scripted answers about anything. I don't know why they would have waited until the third appointment confirmation to bring up the insurance thing if it tanks the whole process. I've gotten 2 other quotes from 2 other companies (Pella and Lowes) for this specific project and both of them were fantastic to work with, Lowes even got me a quote with just pictures of my damaged window. It seems like they just always come up with an excuse to not have to do any work.

For something so time-sensitive, that kind of delay is unacceptable. On top of that, after all the waiting, we were then told that our windows do not qualify for the rebate that was discussed earlier in the process. This was extremely disappointing and feels misleading, as this information should have been clearly communicated upfront before we moved forward. The lack of timely service and clear communication made this a stressful experience. I would strongly recommend that others get everything in writing and confirmed before committing, as this process did not go as promised.

We had several quotes (few in the 6 digits). My husband and I just couldn't agree on which one to choose from. The quotes were either too high or did not on design, and sometimes both. I called STL Design and Build Design, setup an appointment as my last resort. STL Design sent Tom Levinson. Mr. Levinson arrived earlier than time with his assistant. This is definitely a rare. We went through the areas for remodeling. Tom sat me down and listen to all I wanted to do. Then it came down to the details and pricing. The wants an can't live without. We finished with an estimated quote that we were very happy with. Tom was wonderful. He gave me sound advice on my selections for the kitchen remodel. He went through the cost, time-line, and process. Tom went to warehouses with me for selections on the items. Matthew Pevehouse, thank goodness for him. I had a family emergency out-of-state. Matt took care of everything for us. The whole crew were wonderful. Matt took pictures and kept me up to date. If there was an issue it was quickly resolved. My husband and I are thrilled with the results. The look is absolutely fabulous, the craftsmanship and quality of products excellent, and done on time. Thank You STL for a wonderful experience. Bathroom is the next project!

It took 4 to 5 different appointment so they can get the non-defective windows. The sad part of it is I contacted the owner so he can come and look at the defective patio door that I still have in my house. He called me back. He sat an appointment with me , but he never showed up for his appointment. basically, he took my money and he didn't provide the service that I was promised.

Woohoo! As good as it gets!, is right…read more I had been putting off replacing the windows on my sunporch for years. I kept putting it off, until recently. In the past, I hadn't really utilized the room that much, it was just a room I crossed through when I entered and exited the back of the house. Now, I created an entertainment room and needed to improve the windows. I had spoken to Renewal by Andersen at a craft beer event and kept their information on hand. They did call me a couple of times, since the event and didn't mind when I'd ask them to call back in a couple months. When they followed up the last time, I was ready and meet with one of their salespeople. The sales pitch was professional, informative and low-key, no high pressure. I was sold. The next step in the process was a tech coming out and getting very accurate measurements, since all windows are custom made. Again, this step in the process was professional and took minimal time. Six weeks later, my windows were ready to be installed. They were very accommodating working with my work schedule and coming on my day off during the week, so I didn't have to waste a personal or vacation day to get my new windows installed. My installer was scheduled to arrive at 8 AM, he pulled up 5 minutes early - nice. I like it when a repair/service person is on time. I meet the installer out front and walked him to the back entrance of my home, where the sunporch is located. I went on about my business doing errands within the house, keeping the dogs quiet and I even wrote a couple Yelp reviews. Periodically I'd come back to watch his progress and chat about the job. As I watched, I was impressed with the attention to details and how meticulous he worked. When he was done and I walked into the room for the first time, I knew I made the right decision. I immediately could hear the difference in acoustics and feel the difference in temperature. Not to mention the aesthetics of the room. It was a good investment, that I now wish I would have done it earlier. Would I use them again? Yes. As I replace additional windows in my house, they'll be Renewal By Andersen. I hired STL Windows and Doors to replace 28 storm windows on my home because they were highly…read morerated. I was told that the windows would be fully custom to fit my existing custom interior windows, however, the storm windows I received are not custom and do not line up with my existing interior windows (see photos below). Honestly, I just wanted this fixed as it degrades the look of our home and is not what I ordered. What the company will tell you: 1. They tried to remedy the situation, but the company they use is no longer making storm windows so there is nothing they can do. 2. They apologize if the windows are not aesthetically pleasing or do not meet my expectations (disregarding the fact that they are not what I ordered). 3. They pride themselves on customer service, their reputation, and their customer's satisfaction. What I will tell you: 1. When I alerted them to the issue, they said, "It is what it is." They also told me that the storm windows only came in a 50/50 split (and not custom). I contacted the supplier myself and confirmed that the windows are available to order in custom sizes. When I told the company this, they said that they had reached out to the supplier and since they were no longer making storm windows, there was nothing they could do. I asked if there were other solutions, such as contacting another supplier, but I never received an answer to that. They also claim that I didn't tell them of the issue until the job was complete, but I told the installer (who happens to be the owner's sister) at the beginning of day two and her fiancé (the salesman) came out at the beginning of day three to see what the issue was. The job was not completed until the end of day three. I did not correspond with the owner until I filed complaints and contacted a lawyer. 2. "Apologies" aside, I must now pay another company considerably more money to fix the issue caused by STL Windows and Doors. 3. Their actions do not align with priding themselves on customer service. To outline a few of the particulars (without going into too much detail): they've blamed the original salesperson who no longer works for the company, they lied about the windows not being available in custom sizes, they then blamed me after I found out that they are available in custom sizes, a window was installed broken and has not been fixed. Please SHARE this with family and friends to help them avoid losing money to false promises. Thank you!
