The cutest library card
Melissa L.

We were around Chandler and wanted to get some work done, so we stopped by at this library. The staff were super sweet. We were exploring the library and I guess we looked kinda lost haha. Immediately one of the librarians asked us if we needed any assistance and we let her know that we were looking for a study spot. She recommended us one or their study rooms. She helped us sign up for a library card very quickly, helped us reserve the study room, and showed us to the study rooms. The room was spacious. She even offered us if we needed a keyboard and mouse to use. I was very satisfied with all of my interactions with the staff. After getting some work done, we went downstairs and checked out a cultural pass. The staff helping us was very kind. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience and will definitely be coming back to this library. The parking lot was also very spacious. Also, huge plus - the snoopy library card is so so cute!!

Lovely mural in the children's area

I was in the area early so I stopped by this library. This was my first time visiting and parking was plentiful with shaded spots. I walked around a bit and noticed some study rooms, seating by the windows and tables, and a section for children upstairs. There's also a cafe which is a nice touch, and they were having a book sale when I was there. I spent some time at one of the tables which had an outlet and USB ports, which I needed to charge my phone. It was fairly quiet considering how many people were there. I didn't need any help but there was staff at multiple service points if I had questions. I'd consider getting a library card if I lived closer!

Every once in a while it's nice to check out your local library and find a book or two to enjoy on a hot day. I was thrilled to see that there are free lunch programs for kids during the summer. They also provide water and a place to cook off from our heat. As a resident of Chandler, I happily support both!

This library is in an easy to get to location, very clean and nicely maintained, has good covered parking and the staff is friendly and helpful. Love their librarians :) As far as the selection of books, while I understand that a library can't carry every book, the marketing and business sections seems a bit thin to me and could use some def bulking up. Not sure who controls this but it would be nice if the library could stock less books in astrology and cooking and allocate more to the business and entrepreneurship section. After all small business is what fuels our economy.

Library card, took less than 5 mins to get!

We just moved here and I wanted to sign up for a card right away. It's a beautiful, clean, giant building with good WiFi and friendly people around every corner. There were probably 3-4 people in sight I could ask any question to and they were ready to answer. Beautiful shelving, easy to use and understand, and a great checkout process with updated technology. This library is high on my list. I was able to find books through their website program and check them out without a problem. Went and returned some this morning after finishing them. Amazing!

Nice facility in a good location with sufficient parking. Functional systems. Good Customer Service. But only a small collection.

Let me preface this to say that I know very little about the extent of their book or audio…read moreselection at this location. My review is based on the courtesy of staff, their knowledge of services offered, the convenience of the huddle rooms -availability and reserving, and the items they occasionally have available for purchase. I've come here for printing recently instead of going to the UPS store. Saves me more money. You can submit things to be printed via email or you can print things yourself either from desktop or directly at a set up printer. There is a fee, which is minimal, and there are some limitations to what you can print. I've used the Culture Pass deal and saved the price of two tickets for two adults (online price, age 18-64, $26 each) to visit the Heard Museum. Very cool, and it was our first to the Heard Museum, so added bonus. More recently the gentleman I spoke to provided me a quick lesson on how/where/when to pick up future Culture Pass so I could participate again when I find passes available. Some of the Culture Pass locations you could visit: Desert Botanical Garden The Heard Museum Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art Reid Park Zoo Gilbert Historical Museum Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum Arcosanti Sedona Heritage Museum Lowell Observatory Superstition Mountain Museum and several more. Desktops are available for a reserved period of time, and wifi can be accessed without a specific set limit if you bring your own laptop. On one occasion we picked up a selection of music cds for $1 each. Better price than many second hand stores. And I did see they have books available for purchase. A few other activities the library offers: Ask a Master Gardener presented by U of A Maricopa Master Gardeners. Seed exchange Free Garden Seeds (limit 3) Break TIME Chandler Recreation Guide And numerous other Community Events -all viewable on their website. Keep in mind, you must have a library card to use most of the things mentioned.

Outside they have a cooling station consisting of a water, fountain and sprinklers under a covered area for anybody to use which is super helpful during the hot Arizona summer that helpful librarians give us very good information. I also picked up three seed packets, which is a nice offering that they do where you can check out seeds of different items such as greens, turnips, etc..

Even though I live in (south) Scottsdale I come to Tempe Public Library more than any other library…read morein the Phoenix area. 1) I take my mom here every few weeks because they have a large selection of large print books...more than Scottsdale (Civic Center) 2) It actually makes things more convenient that they don't have multiple branches. Whatever materials they have are all at one location. 3) From what I can tell it seems to be less busy/popular than other libraries in the Phoenix area and if you're trying to reserve materials you'll get them quicker here. Library is clean and pretty well organized. Parking is easy as well. I wish they were open maybe an hour later, but it's fine.

The library location in Tempe is so much better than the downtown chandler library. The selection here is way bigger, and it's more teenager friendly. My son was able to get some good books he was interested in reading. In the downtown chandler location he couldn't find one book that peaked his interest. I got way more books than I expected. That's a good thing! I need to get back into reading. The employees here are so much more friendly, helpful and knowledgeable than the Chandler library. So safe to say I won't be back to the Chandler library. This library I will be a regular at even though it pretty far from em.

Let's talk about this so-called "public" library that insists on enforcing unnecessary rules. I…read morehave a shy teenager, and when I accompanied him to the teen section to help him find a book and provide login information for the "teen" computer, I was rudely told to leave. Apparently, their goal is to encourage teens to use the space--but does that really mean parents can't quietly assist their kids? The section was nearly empty, with only two other kids present. I initially explained to the first staff member that I would leave once my son was finished searching, yet she still felt the need to give me attitude. Barely three minutes later, a second staff member came in and, just as rudely, reminded me that this section was strictly for teenagers--making me feel as if I was breaking some major rule. I pointed out that my son was still looking for his book, but the unnecessary policing continued. Once he was finished, I told him, "Let's go to the open area," since apparently moms aren't allowed in the teen section. The fact that this kind of petty enforcement exists in a PUBLIC library--a space funded by taxpayers--is beyond ridiculous. If you have a shy teen who might need support while navigating the teen section, I'd suggest finding another library. Otherwise, be prepared to be watched like a hawk for simply helping your own child.

I try to avoid going around the time school gets out, because despite all the signs stating not to park at the curb, people always do, blocking the entrance and exit to the parking lot. I love how easy it is to reserve books or waitlist them online, pick them up inside off the hold shelf where they're sorted by last name, and self-check them out all without standing in line or needing anyone's help. This saves a ton of time when I'm out running errands. Near the entrance there's a spot for donating items. This has been great for those books my kids have outgrown, cookbooks I no longer need, and movies we no longer watch. This location is large and open, and usually clean. There are several small tables for children, as well as plenty of seating for adults.
