Let's talk about this so-called "public" library that insists on enforcing unnecessary rules. I…read morehave a shy teenager, and when I accompanied him to the teen section to help him find a book and provide login information for the "teen" computer, I was rudely told to leave. Apparently, their goal is to encourage teens to use the space--but does that really mean parents can't quietly assist their kids? The section was nearly empty, with only two other kids present. I initially explained to the first staff member that I would leave once my son was finished searching, yet she still felt the need to give me attitude. Barely three minutes later, a second staff member came in and, just as rudely, reminded me that this section was strictly for teenagers--making me feel as if I was breaking some major rule. I pointed out that my son was still looking for his book, but the unnecessary policing continued. Once he was finished, I told him, "Let's go to the open area," since apparently moms aren't allowed in the teen section. The fact that this kind of petty enforcement exists in a PUBLIC library--a space funded by taxpayers--is beyond ridiculous. If you have a shy teen who might need support while navigating the teen section, I'd suggest finding another library. Otherwise, be prepared to be watched like a hawk for simply helping your own child.

Because it's located at Perry High School, it's definitely not the quietest location. I try to avoid going around the time school gets out, because despite all the signs stating not to park at the curb, people always do, blocking the entrance and exit to the parking lot. I love how easy it is to reserve books or waitlist them online, pick them up inside off the hold shelf where they're sorted by last name, and self-check them out all without standing in line or needing anyone's help. This saves a ton of time when I'm out running errands. Near the entrance there's a spot for donating items. This has been great for those books my kids have outgrown, cookbooks I no longer need, and movies we no longer watch. This location is large and open, and usually clean. There are several small tables for children, as well as plenty of seating for adults.

The kids in the registers office were really helpful and understanding as well, going above and beyond to get my daughter enrolled as she hasn't been in school for a while and struggles a bit in social situations.

I heard about the bad feedback from current and former students, but since I lived in STV, I was hopeful just to walk to class since the campus was a mile away. I was returning to get my EMT certification, but for two consecutive semesters, this location had no local classes, so I had to drive to the main campus every Saturday. This meant excessive miles on my car and losing 9 hours every Saturday. That class worked best for me and I had a great time. The instructor and the director of the program were the only bright spots in the entire process of becoming a student. The enrollment counseling was rarely available and gave me a list of things to do, which took time, but then I would have to go to the campus to get help. The ladies that worked up front were very nice, but they managed to lose my personal medical records that were needed for the course. I later learned that only the EMT director needed those. I still to this day have no idea where my documents went. No one could find them and they included PII and HIPAA documents. I never did get a call on this issue. Finance was horrible too. 6 meals and calls before I got a single callback only to find out that caller had no idea how to help me. I had to escalate to a supervisor just to get a response, which was something completely different than what I was originally told. I had to call twice to find out how my tuition went up and showed out so state, even though I was a state resident. I attended Mesa CC in the past and that entire process was flawless. I'm not sure if it's staffing or people just don't want to go here, but I cannot, in good faith, recommend this school to anyone. Drive to the Maricopa Community College System and make your life easy. The entire online platform my classes, emails, and resources, aren't very user-friendly either. The course (at least for EMT) was so hard to navigate that we needed classes from the teacher just to figure out how to find study guides, document uploads, etc. I'm guessing it's a money issue and transient employees, but save the headache and go to Gilbert or Mesa. I really hope this school can fix its enrollment, finance, and other sections. I asked all the students in my class, some only taking the one class and others enrolled full time, and all of them echoed the same concerns I had, so its not me. With all that, the gentleman who works at the STV testing center was very nice and the remote testing team was great. I took weekly tests for 8 weeks and all of them were very friendly and accommodating. At least they got that right. I would love to see this school turn it around, but this was my experience. Good luck!

When someone thinks of Arizona State University, they often think of the Tempe Campus and a large…read moreschool experience. What they may not realize is that while that experience is great for many people, yet others may be looking for a different experience. The ASU Polytechnic Campus is smaller than the Tempe Campus yet it's a community where every student has the potential to feel connected with resources and it is still large enough that there is usually something happening. It's growing as a campus and has transformed from a former Air Force base to a commuter campus to a residential campus in recent years with over 1,000 bed spaces living on-campus in traditional residence halls and single-shared or family houses. Opened in 1996, the ASU Polytechnic Campus was founded as ASU East on the former Williams Air Force Base in Mesa. The newest residence halls Century Hall opened in 2012 while Lantana Hall opened in 2000. The campus has strong partnerships with Chandler-Gilbert Community College and the surrounding Mesa area with the Mesa Gateway Airport right next door. The ASU Preparatory Middle and High Schools are right on the ASU Polytechnic Campus, too. While ASU Polytechnic is the home of numerous academic colleges and programs, they are known for their engineering programs and aviation programs and flight centers. As the campus continues to grow each year, the number of buildings on campus continue to increase. In addition to academic buildings, there are student services available in the Academic Center (home to a computer lab and the library), the Administration Building, several of the Quad buildings, and the Student Union. There is also the Simulator Building and the Technology Center along with residence halls and houses, a dining hall (also home to the Multicultural Communities of excellence and a small marketplace), and the Sun Devil Fitness Complex. There is also the ASU Charter monument. Needless to say, there is something for everyone on the ASU Polytechnic Campus. At the Polytechnic Campus, every student can drive their own experience as they engage in the events and resources on-campus while attending classes, getting an on-campus job, landing an internship or full-time job, joining clubs and organizations, attending many free events and activities, and so much more. The Dean of Students Office (in the Academic Center) and the many student services offices at ASU Polytechnic are always there for students, and it's easy to find your way towards graduation and your future when taking advantage of these resources. I look forward to seeing what comes next on such an engaging campus such as the ASU Polytechnic Campus in the coming years!

There is something so special about a place that honors God not only in what they sell, but in how they serve. Their selection of forever Bibles is truly remarkable. Whether you're looking for a study Bible, a journaling Bible, or a treasured heirloom edition that will walk with you through the seasons of life, they have it. What touched me most was their beautiful Bible engraving -- such a meaningful way to mark God's Word as your own or to bless someone you love with a gift that will last for generations. There's something powerful about seeing a name engraved on the Holy Scriptures, a reminder that His Word is personal and alive. I've always believed a Bible should be written in, highlighted, prayed over -- pages worn soft from love and study. A living Book. The gentleman who helped us truly understood that. He patiently walked us through different translations, layouts, and features, helping us find exactly what each family member needed. We left with two Bibles that felt perfectly chosen -- not just purchased, but prayerfully selected. Beyond Bibles, the store carries a large selection of faith-based items -- jewelry that speaks truth, hats and shirts that boldly share the Gospel, and personal gifts that encourage and uplift. They also offer Bible study tools, note-taking supplies, and home items you simply cannot find on Amazon. These are thoughtfully curated pieces that help deepen your walk with Christ and surround your home with reminders of His promises. The customer service is simply amazing. Every staff member was kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely joyful. The prices are reasonable, and there is no pressure -- only guidance and grace. If you're just starting your faith journey, do not feel intimidated. This is the perfect place to begin. You will be welcomed, supported, and encouraged. This isn't just a bookstore. It's a ministry. A place where God's Word is honored, where hearts are encouraged, and where you can find the perfect gift -- for yourself or for anyone the Lord places on your heart. I left grateful, uplifted, and reminded that His Word truly is living and active.

A magical land of books... in the wild!…read more We don't have many big chain bookstores on the Islands, so walking into this Barnes & Noble felt a little like stumbling into a mythical creature ......part library, part gift shop, part cozy reading sanctuary... and honestly, I was thrilled. Rows and rows of books as far as the eye can see .....fiction, travel, cookbooks, self-help, "I swear I'm going to start reading again" books .....all of them calling my name. The café smelled like coffee and good intentions, the aisles were tidy, and every corner whispered, "Yes... you do need another book." And I listened. The vibe is calm, nostalgic, and slightly dangerous for anyone with weak willpower and a wallet. The staff is friendly, the store is clean, and there are so many fun extras ...journals, puzzles, gifts, and all the things you didn't know you needed until you saw them. In a world of screens and scrolling, this place feels like a tiny victory for book lovers everywhere. Bottom line: Barnes & Noble is a rare sight for us and a beautiful one. I came for "just a quick look"... and left with a stack of books and zero regrets.
