The image shows the interior of a public library with a wide open space, multiple bookshelves, and tables for reading or studying. The walls are decorated with colorful geometric shapes and murals, creating a vibrant atmosphere. There are a few people visible in the background, and the ceiling has evenly spaced fluorescent lights. The library appears well-organized and inviting for visitors.

An older but quite big and comprehensive library in downtown Mesa. The surroundings aren't the best neighborhood, but the library itself is pretty good. Parking has plentiful but can get pretty crowded. They recently installed solar panel parking carports so it's much cooler to park now. Apparently there's a pretty bad homeless loitering problem here, but we didn't see any of them while we were there, but we only stopped by for a short while this time. We like the kids area which is very kids friendly with tons of books, lots of colorful walls and designs, cool reading books kids can crawl into to read. There's also a Maker Place for creative arts, crafts, and invention projects using equipment they provide like 3D printers and sewing machines etc. You do have to go through online training before you can use the tools there, but there's also staff and volunteers onsite to assist you. I'm not as familiar with the rest of the library, but it's big and there's a lot of books and resources for everyone.

Check out area at Mesa Children's library. - The image shows the children's check-out area at Mesa Public Library in Mesa, AZ. It features a curved reception desk with computers and signage, colorful hexagon wall art, and a bookshelf displaying children's books. The space is open with a carpeted floor, and there are additional seating and play areas visible in the background. The ceiling has multiple square lights, and the overall environment is designed to be inviting for children and families.

I took my 6 year old grandson to the Mesa Library for the first time. He had such a great time. There are many activities for children to participate in along with reading and checking out books. The library is clean, inviting and staffed with friendly people. We had a great visit!

I came in just to renew my library card. I was so excited to see how inclusive it is for everyone. Children, Tweens/Teens, Adults, with access to amazing books, music, movies, and crafts! Honestly , it's so exciting to see how much the library has to offer for the community. That includes a Seed Library! Meeting spaces, classes, crafting, and the computers are available to search and use. I highly recommend visiting this year and enjoying all it has to offer. Start 2025 right by supporting your local library.

Stopped in Tuesday to kill time between airbnb checkout and my flight. I was expecting to be at some sea of computers in a chair.... Imagine my surprise when I saw no such thing and better yet... comfortable lounge type chairs! What a comfortable environment to just relax! I was surprised to see a pop machine... but it had energy drinks and Gatorade; great options! I couldn't believe how quiet it was! There was only one man that got on his cellphone, thankfully short lived. I appreciated this bench type area between the bathrooms and exit door... which are sliding doors....another thanks! I felt it was a comfortable temperature here and smiled when I noticed the ceiling fans above the book check out area. I appreciated the colorful staircase...not boring white. I have no picture but I loved that upon entering the library there were a few signs for CBI(?) services for those experiencing homelessness! What a great library, like none I've ever been to before. Thanks for providing a comfortable environment to quietly pass some time reading a book.

Adj: Clearly Comprehensive and Incredibly Impressive…read more Chandler Public Library is a very impressive library. We really like books, so when we travel, we visit libraries, haha... We instill our kids with the love of reading, so they like going to new libraries too. Besides the books, obviously, we like to check out the architecture and the designs of different libraries. Some of them are really incredible works of art designed by famous architects. We visited this library on a SUNDAY. That's right, they're opened on Sundays. This is unheard of in many parts of the country. This was such an impressive library with massive stacks of books on the ground floor, and in the upper level there were lots of tables and chairs throughout for comfortable reading seating, and colorful art throughout that's cheery and uplifting for adults and kids alike. The second floor is also where they have an especially kid-friendly children's section, with tons of kids-sized chairs and tables and lounging sofas as well as kids-only computers. When we visited, there was a kids speech event happening in several conference rooms where kids presented their speeches and we got to listen in as an impromptu audience, what a treat! The meeting rooms throughout the library are available for non-profit community events and open to the public. Overall, the Chandler downtown library is an incredibly impressive educational resource and a gem for the community and we're glad to have had the opportunity to visit and plan to be back when we visit friends in town again in the future.

I live an hour away and was willing to drive it everyday, and even went to go get my badge a month ago because i was so prepared. Then a few days ago i get a text asking why i'm not in some mandatory orientation that was never told to me. Apparently they had been sending emails to me on an account that i have never used and did not attach to any of my information regarding them trying to contact me. I then apologize for missing the emails and make a whole email account to read their emails they're sending me and because i missed orientation they dropped me from the class that doesn't even start for about two weeks. If they actually cared about students and helping them learn, they would have been more understanding, these teachers will not work with you and do not care about students, under any circumstance, i would never go here.

There was live music, the architect spoke explaining the light and architecture at work for the special hour (12-1). It was beautiful and fascinating to witness. There was also a demonstration of the Washington Printing Press in the Rare Book Room with a special print that day created by library staff. There was also a limited tshirt that day at the Friends Bookstore with a print from the printing press designed by library staff. Every day here is a special day, but today was an extra special day. Staff is always ready to help, is friendly, and is very knowledgeable - whether it's Adult Services Staff, Youth Services Staff, Circulation Staff, or Municipal Security; everyone is here to help make your experience incredible. There's a first floor with an art gallery, the children's area, the adult fiction area, the checkout area, the accounts desk, the security desk, and the auditorium. The second floor has the computer, printing, faxing, copying, and scanning area, the business area, the arizona room, workforce area, and college depot. I loved the informative display cases on the second floor which held information on filming western movies in Arizona, about Burton Barr - their namesake, and about the architecture of the building. This was a very nice, informative touch. The third floor is administration and is not open to the public. This is where the magic of Phoenix Public Library is planned. This is where the PPL team orders and processes PPL materials, where staff plans programs, marketing, and more! The fourth floor is the teen room, the makerspace, and where the youth services staff plans programs. The fifth floor is the largest reading room in the nation, yes, larger than NYC Central Public Library's reading room! It's an impressive floor and my favorite with those beautiful North, and South views of Phoenix. This floor holds the adult non-fiction collection, and reference collection. Each floor has restrooms, look for signs. Can't find it? Ask the friendly staff at any service desk. Enjoy your visit at an architectural gem, a Phoenix Point of Pride, and at one of the best library's in the nation.

My review is based on the courtesy of staff, their knowledge of services offered, the convenience of the huddle rooms -availability and reserving, and the items they occasionally have available for purchase. I've come here for printing recently instead of going to the UPS store. Saves me more money. You can submit things to be printed via email or you can print things yourself either from desktop or directly at a set up printer. There is a fee, which is minimal, and there are some limitations to what you can print. I've used the Culture Pass deal and saved the price of two tickets for two adults (online price, age 18-64, $26 each) to visit the Heard Museum. Very cool, and it was our first to the Heard Museum, so added bonus. More recently the gentleman I spoke to provided me a quick lesson on how/where/when to pick up future Culture Pass so I could participate again when I find passes available. Some of the Culture Pass locations you could visit: Desert Botanical Garden The Heard Museum Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art Reid Park Zoo Gilbert Historical Museum Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum Arcosanti Sedona Heritage Museum Lowell Observatory Superstition Mountain Museum and several more. Desktops are available for a reserved period of time, and wifi can be accessed without a specific set limit if you bring your own laptop. On one occasion we picked up a selection of music cds for $1 each. Better price than many second hand stores. And I did see they have books available for purchase. A few other activities the library offers: Ask a Master Gardener presented by U of A Maricopa Master Gardeners. Seed exchange Free Garden Seeds (limit 3) Break TIME Chandler Recreation Guide And numerous other Community Events -all viewable on their website. Keep in mind, you must have a library card to use most of the things mentioned.

Apparently, their goal is to encourage teens to use the space--but does that really mean parents can't quietly assist their kids? The section was nearly empty, with only two other kids present. I initially explained to the first staff member that I would leave once my son was finished searching, yet she still felt the need to give me attitude. Barely three minutes later, a second staff member came in and, just as rudely, reminded me that this section was strictly for teenagers--making me feel as if I was breaking some major rule. I pointed out that my son was still looking for his book, but the unnecessary policing continued. Once he was finished, I told him, "Let's go to the open area," since apparently moms aren't allowed in the teen section. The fact that this kind of petty enforcement exists in a PUBLIC library--a space funded by taxpayers--is beyond ridiculous. If you have a shy teen who might need support while navigating the teen section, I'd suggest finding another library. Otherwise, be prepared to be watched like a hawk for simply helping your own child.

I try to avoid going around the time school gets out, because despite all the signs stating not to park at the curb, people always do, blocking the entrance and exit to the parking lot. I love how easy it is to reserve books or waitlist them online, pick them up inside off the hold shelf where they're sorted by last name, and self-check them out all without standing in line or needing anyone's help. This saves a ton of time when I'm out running errands. Near the entrance there's a spot for donating items. This has been great for those books my kids have outgrown, cookbooks I no longer need, and movies we no longer watch. This location is large and open, and usually clean. There are several small tables for children, as well as plenty of seating for adults.
