From the friendly staff at the front desk, to the technician who checked me in and did the preliminary stuff, to Doctor Shonda Wood, I couldn't have been happier. I was treated with respect, professionalism, and friendliness. Everyone was super knowledgeable and completely on task during my appointment. The only interruption was when I had to use the facilities. My only recommendation for this business would be to upgrade their computer program to allow new clients to fill out the paperwork required on line prior to the appointment.

I went to one of the Optometrists in town who have a really beautiful dispensary (polished wood and…read moreexpensive designer frames prominently displayed along the walls); because they carry the exact brand of really sweet (expensive . . . designer) frames I like. We are talking a $900+ pair of glasses. I was a bone head and lost the pair I had, so I really needed an immediate replacement; as the prescription in my "emergency" lenses was a bit off. The optometrists are great guys. The staff are wonderful people. But their supply chain stinks (and I'm trying to be nice). My perception (and I'm a savvy business guy) is they offload everything to a wholesale laboratory where they apparently have NO swing; or, worse, they suck-up poor performance to get the best price point. The quality of the product delivered is acceptable, but they can't deliver in a timely manner. FYI - this was my second . . . and last . . . time to suffer through the seemingly never ending wait. Hey . . . I liked the people and frames. But never again. I hope the few dollars of savings are worth the tens of thousands they are going to lose; from me and everyone I am going to tell my tale. Because after nearly a month of waiting . . . I pulled the plug and told them to forget it. I went back to the guys at Dawson's; who have never failed me. And yet again . . . Rick and Larry delivered. I got a new prescription, an awesome pair of high-end digital progressive lenses in my favorite frames (which they don't carry, but we got around that), with all the fancy coatings, a new pair of Maui Jim digital progressive sunglasses, and new lenses for my "emergency" single vision frames; so I can see the super thin daily wear if I lay them down in plain sight (plain sight for someone who can actually see). I went in late Tuesday (after telling the other folks I was done) and had the "emergency" lenses the next day; so no more headaches. The prescription Maui Jim's were ready Friday morning. And they are awesome! The lenses for the daily wear were ready before lunch the next Monday. And it wasn't because I was spending way too much money. While I was discussing the purchase, that still has my wife angry with me, Larry told me to wait a few, quite a few as he didn't rush it, minutes while he assisted a woman figure out a good pair of glasses that would fit her very much smaller eyewear budget. They treat the folks with a tight budget just the same as an idiot, like me, who can spend way more than seems reasonable for eyewear. These are good people. I will never again stray. Go give them a try. They will earn your business. And no . . . they didn't give me a discount to write this. I'll show you the credit card bill! But I got what I paid for . . . product and service!!

As an update to my 2023 appointment for new glasses: I recently had an eye exam at another facility…read moreand was given a new prescription that was supposed to be a minor tweak on my current glasses. I compared the new prescription to my latest prescription and it seemed more like a major change instead of a minor adjustment. Not being an expert, I went ahead and ordered the updated lenses from Rome Eye Care. When they came in and I put them on, the vision in my left eye was good but I could see better out of the right lens without the glasses. I figured I just had to wear them for a while to get used to them. After two weeks of constant wear, my vision was not any better out of the right eye. I returned to Rome Eye care and they read the lenses on their machine and confirmed they matched the prescription I had been given, which I figured they did. They agreed with me that the new prescription was a major change from the lenses I have been wearing since 2023. They said I should go back to the original clinic and have them recheck my eyes. The original office I went to could not give me a repeat exam until June. I let Rome Eye Care know that I wouldn't be back anytime soon so they weren't expecting a quick return. The very next day they called and said that Dr. Reeves said for me to come in and he would re-examine my eyes. A new exam was performed and it was found that the prescription I was given by the other optometrist was over corrected for the left eye and was even a bit stronger than I needed for the right eye. During his evaluation he was able to correct my prescription to give me 20/20 vision. I know this is kind of long, but the people at Rome Eye Care center are really great. Based on how quickly they accommodated the exam and the expert treatment I received, I will probably use them as my primary for eye care.

Dr. Molly Tipton was my technician; she said they were short-staffed that day and she didn't normally do that job, but she was wonderful nonetheless. Dr. Rich McCurdy performed my exam and was very thorough, friendly yet professional. Afterwards, a lovely young woman named Maria helped me pick out some super cute new frames, and even made sure that the frames I picked were fully covered under my insurance! Overall, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend this clinic!

This eye doctor is great. I'm not very consistent with my check and last visited them 6 years ago…read morewhen they took insurance. I was WAY due so looked them up and say they changed to self pay but I figured it was worth it. This is no middle of the mall eye doctor and you feel that so I was willing to invest. The red headed assistant that works there is amazing. So fun and chatty and helpful in selecting frames. She legit could sell a blind man sunglasses. They are all so kind to everyone that walked in. The office was in the middle of an upgrade so I'm sure it will soon more appropriately match their energy and vibe. Only con was the time it took to get my frames we were moving from the West Side and they took 3 weeks to arrive so had to come from Woodstock to pick them up. But overall great experience.
