This is a great place to see a movie. Theaters are large, but not so large they loose the intimate feet. Screens are huge and make you feel like you're right in the movie, not matter where you're seated. And my favorite part- the rreclining seats are amazing! Wide, comfy, and you can lay out pretty much flat! The only thing that is a little disappointing is the pizza at the concessions. The popcorn is delicious though! read more

On September 25th, after 8 p.m., my family and I went to the Champlin Mann Theater and experienced what I strongly believe was racially targeted treatment by one of the staff members. This was not the first time; I had a similar negative encounter with the same employee on a previous visit. I regret not getting his name, but he is easily identifiable by his bright, washed-out bleach hair dye (very bright almost white hair). During my first visit, this same employee treated my family and me with suspicion and disrespect, questioning us in a way that made me feel singled out because of our race and religion. When I returned to the theater later, I personally witnessed a white customer walk in without being asked to show a ticket. Moments later, however, the same bleach-haired employee stopped my brothers and me and demanded to see our tickets. This felt intentional and discriminatory, especially given our prior experience with him. Inside the theater that night, I found a walkie-talkie that was disrupting the start of the movie. I brought it to the front desk and politely identified myself as "the girl from the other night" to let the employee know about my previous experience. I calmly expressed that I felt racially targeted by his actions, both on that earlier occasion and again that night, when he stopped my family but allowed a white customer to pass unchecked. Instead of apologizing or acknowledging my concerns, he dismissed me, repeatedly saying "go ahead and report me." At no point did I raise my voice or act disrespectfully, I simply asked for an apology or some understanding of the impact of his actions. Instead, his coworker, a white woman, also engaged in what felt like racially biased behavior by questioning my sister about whether her water bottle was "paid for," despite it clearly being a personal water bottle from home. Overall, the way we were treated felt racially targeted, dismissive, and unprofessional. We left the theater feeling uncomfortable, disappointed, and disrespected. I truly hope the Mann Theater takes this seriously and implements changes to ensure all patrons--regardless of race--are treated equally and with respect. At this time, my family and I do not feel comfortable returning. read more

Girlfriend chick-flick outing. It's been awhile since I've been to a movie theater and wow! They have really upped their game! Reserved seating, and there were plenty of options for our weekend matinee. There's a bar and you can bring your adult beverage into the movie with you. Comfy recliner seating. Our (senior) matinee ticket was $8.00ish, and unfortunately a small popcorn was about the same price. Everything was clean and well maintained. We're rockin' with Mark because Mark is rockin' with us. I don't typically write move theater reviews but we had a super cool bartender the last time we came. He literally ran to the counter when he saw us walking up and he was hilarious. Shoutout to you, Mark. Anyways, Champlin Cinema is bomb. I love to come for $5 Tuesdays when I'm feeling like a solo date night. They have a full bar so you can hangout before your movie or grab a drink for the show. Pro-tip: movie theater bartenders will put a shot of liquor into your Icee if that's how you roll. The theaters themselves have full recliners & I definitely prefer Mann theaters over AMC for their pricing and availability. The only thing I've ever had an issue with at this theater is when I order hot food. If you're a snacks/Icee/popcorn person you're good to go. Champlin Cinema has great parking, easy online ticket access, recliners, and a bar. As far as movie theaters go, it checks all the boxes. I started going here during Covid when they had the drive in theatre set up & honestly that was so fun! I hope they continue to do that, even though it was winter we had tons of blankets and had a great time! Since then, we've started going here for all of our movies, mainly because we love the seats (reclining/comfy/move the arm up for a couch)! We like buying the tickets at the fast machines/self serve or online, since you can pick your seats then. Price is as expected for a movie & snacks. We went here during COVID so it was an outside drive in style for two movies. It was a fun idea with a different twist to the classic movie theater and social distancing friendly. I purchased tickets online to see the movie IF. I came to the theater and was told the movie wasn't showing... After being switched to another movie I was charged with an extra fee, shocked because this was a mistake on the theater and this fee should be voided. After explaining this to the young man helping me, he acted confused as if this mistake was my problem. Finally, he voided the money and offered my family and I snacks. This was my first time at this location. I liked it. Well kept, friendly service, clean theaters, and it isn't hard to get someone's attn for assistance. We got to the theater at 6 and were first in line. Once you park you cannot renter the theater, so bring some entertainment. There is a 10 minute intermission between movies. The inside of the theater closes at midnight. Bring a portable radio, the station to listen is 91.7 FM. Whenever leaving the parking lot on foot bring your tickets. The staff was very polite about social distancing and keeping the place clean. Excited to come back for more classic movies! It would be amazing if they showed older anime movies for nerds like me. This theatre is great after the remodel. I love the comfortable seats and being able to lift the divider to cuddle. The bar is a great addition. It adds a fun new idea for night life. The giant screen they have is super cool too! The cleanliness has definitely gone up over the years and there's so much convenience. This used to be my least fave movie theater now it's my fave. Cinema 14 is an above average metro theater. Last night was our 3rd or 4th movie at this location. The screens are large, the seating is ample, and surprisingly, the staff are always super friendly. It's a sign of great management when all of the staff, from front to back, are all consistently friendly. Best of all, I've never encountered (so far) any boneheads who are texting or talking or goofing off. The food is ridiculously expensive. But all of them do this. And you're a captive audience. In the XDX screening room the lights say on throughout the entire movie. Literally I don't even think the lights dim and if they did you couldn't tell. When sitting in aisle seats it's hard you see dark movies do to the lights staying on. The movie was not was zoom in to the point you can't read second line of subtitles. All and all I would not recommend going to see a movie in XDX at Champlain Cinema 14, it's actually worth the drive to Plymouth Grand 15 and watching a movie in there XDX. The sound is better and the turn off the lights so you can enjoy the movie. read more

Been here several times, different days of the week, different times of day. On multiple occasions the movies didn't start on time. Whenever I'd ask the team member at the counter why previews weren't playing less than 5 mins before the start I'd get a snotty response of "the movies start right on time so you'll be fine." When I asked about the previews I was told "those come on when the movie does." After the third time of that NOT happening I figured they just didn't care. I'm pretty relaxed about customer service but this was absolutely terrible. If I was there Manager I'd immediately let go of whoever the lead girl was that was disrespectful about simply asking to check on the previews. read more

It's probably my favorite theater around. No, they do not have leather reclining seats or a bar like the plymouth location. My favorite part of this movie theater is the atmosphere the employees bring to all of the customers they serve. It's never busy on weekdays, and on weekends I always move through the lines in under 5 minutes (considering how busy it gets that's pretty good.) Also, there's more than enough seating. I've never been here once to find out after getting there that a showing has sold out. Everytime I walk to the concession area I always see fresh popcorn being made, and it always tastes amazing! Sometimes I honestly just go in to buy a large bag only to go home and watch a movie myself! Managers always seem like they're on top of things as soon as a problem arises, so there's no need to worry there. I know one time a few months ago there was an issue with my credit card going through and they had the problem fixed and I was on my way in no time. All in all, if you're looking for a cheaper but still just as nice, fun night on the town seeing a movie at the Mann Champlin cinema 14 is an excellent choice. read more

This is the best theater in our area, hands down! It is not some super big chain, so it has a more personal feel. After their recent remodeling it is marvelously comfortable, the new reclining seats are great! The concessions feature a good variety of traditional movie fare, popcorn and such with all the fun kinds of candy you could want. They also have other more substantive hot food that is nice to have sometimes. The folks in the theater are always friendly. The addition of the bar area is also very nice when here as adults. Another nice thing about Mann, they let you order tickets on-line without having to create an account and all kinds of other information grabbing! read more

The theater was nice and clean. The seats were very comfortable. Unfortunately, there is red lighting that illuminates the steps and aisles that is way too bright. I saw It Chapter 2 and a lot of the scenes are at night/dark. There is a red glow on the right 1/3rd of the screen that is very distracting during the dark scenes. I wrote management to inform them of this and have not received a response. I would recommend other theaters until this issue gets resolved if seeing a movie with a lot of night/dark scenes. read more

Despite better theaters being around, Champlin Cinema hires friendlier staff who know how to make guests feel welcomed.

The service was second to none. I got there and the employee named Luke got on all fours and started bowing down to me, I had never felt so welcome at a theater. I got into my movie and saw a couple making out before the show, this pre-movie entertainment was next level! I will never set foot in another theater. The Champlin Mann changed my life. read more

My father and my son went to go see Escape From Planet Earth today at this theater, purchased their tickets and food and went to the show. Turns out the theater had a blackout the night before and 4 of the movie screens were out, one being the Escape From Planet Earth show. The workers at the theater didn't bother to inform anyone prior to them purchasing their tickets and food. The customers wanted their money back for the food and movie tickets but the theater workers said that they could not do anything about it and told everyone tough luck. I would skip this theater and head to another one in the area. read more
