Being the awesome nerd that I am, I had no idea Hamilton High Library was open to the public, and…read moreI'm so glad I discovered it! It's smaller than most libraries I've been to, but it's a great place to go on early weekday hours and on Saturdays. During the week, though, it can get pretty wild with students filling the library to study. It makes me wonder why library hours aren't longer especially until 7 or 8 p.m. on weekdays and at least 5 p.m. on weekends. Libraries had longer hours before COVID, and I really think they should consider bringing them back. Some students simply don't have anywhere else quiet to go and study. I also wish more study rooms were available to reserve throughout the day instead of only having a couple available for booking. And can we please get some soundproof study pods? I had a woman next to me talking VERY loudly on her phone. I eventually had to knock on the wall and respectfully ask her to lower her voice. To be fair, she probably didn't realize how much everyone could hear but I was honestly shocked the space wasn't better soundproofed! Overall, I'm happy I found this library. It's a great community resource, and with longer hours, more study rooms, and some soundproof spaces, it could be even better.

Please do not enroll your child in this school. As a past student this has been the worst school I…read morehave ever been in. Admin is terrible at handling situations, the "mental health services" (aka social workers) don't do anything either and they rush you back to class after 2 minutes (not an exaggeration), the food is kinda good but multiple students have gotten sick from it, and overall horrible staff. I've experienced countless roaches in the hallways and bathrooms, mold on the ceiling tiles, water damage, and some of the roofing tiles aren't even there!! Special shout-out to Ms Vazquez for not letting students go to the bathroom, nurse, counselors, social workers, admin, OR get water if you mess up once in her class. Counselors don't help with students failing classes until it's too late and then 'well it's your fault' bs. Thanks to staff for making my high school experience very memorable in the worst way.

The teachers are young and new but also excited and empowered to do more than is expected. We are excited about being a small part of building this school and it's culture. Which currently is awesome. The head master Dr. Mitchell is sincere and forward thinking. He seems to be ever present and always has a kind word for the students. Well done Lightning!

Our decision to leave Lincoln Prep by the close of the 2024-25 school term was solidified because one of the assistant headmasters pulled students out of class and asked them about our 12 yo daughter's dating status and sexual orientation. He did this as a part of his "investigation" of our year-long harassment grievance. Our daughter was harassed by other students with no consequences to the bullies. We took this immediately to the executive director of upper schools, and he told me that the asst. headmaster should have asked open-ended questions, but that no further action was required. As you might imagine, his response was completely unethical and unacceptable. He also denied my request to have said asst headmaster present at our meeting. This was after several months of trying to work with the principal and asst headmaster on our harassment grievance per the student-parent handbook. Under the principal's "leadership" and the executive director of upper school's oversight, our family has been disrespected and our daugther's safety and care was not a priority. School leaders chose to protect the bullies and their families and dismiss our harassment grievances. We have now filed our grievance with the executive board of directors. GH Lincoln Prep leadership is unethical. We've removed our 3 children from their school system.

We had a really good experience with the Kyrene District elementary program but found their middle…read moreschool system lacking in many areas. That is when after much research I choose Chandler Preparatory Academy for my children to attend both middle school and high school. We have been a CPA family for over 4 years. Both children transitioned very well from public school to the Great Hearts culture. It only took about a week for them to get used to the uniforms! I feel that the stricter dress code and restrictions on personal electronics help my children to focus in the classroom and develop better relationships with their teachers and peers. Both children quickly found very positive and encouraging friend groups. We have had no issues with bulling or harassment. Attending CPA through COVID was a godsend as the entire Great Hearts operation was dedicated to getting children safely back into the classroom. Where last year my children were able to attend school in person for 90% of the school year, my neighborhood high school was online for three quarters. I am very satisfied on how CPA mitigated COVID and continues to provide in person education in a post pandemic world. I find the student body to be diverse and vibrant with students from all different backgrounds. There is a high participation of parent involvement. School pride is evident by the cleanliness and orderly nature of the school grounds. Teachers are highly assessable to both students and parents. Each teacher/class offers weekly tutoring hours. Students also have time after lunch to study, attend tutoring, or get some fresh air on the field. There is a robust mentoring program for new students as well as student lead tutoring programs for math and science above what the teachers offer. My children have very different learning styles where school comes easy for one while the other struggles. Through the CPA ESS program, my youngest gets additional support that helps her be successful with the more rigorous curriculum. I do feel that she would have "gotten lost in the shuffle" at Kyrene Middle School but at CPA she gets the support and encouragement she needs to make learning a positive experience. This school focuses on a classical liberal arts curriculum that not only cultivates the hearts and minds of students in the pursuit of Truth, Beauty and Goodness, but also graduates student leaders that are prepared for success at the college level. The school produces a very well rounded student and encourages, through CPA programs, to participate in athletics, music, art, mentorship, and community service. The Great Hearts school system offers transparency on their budgets, fundraising, and operations, which goes to show that the school motto of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness starts at the very top of the organization. You owe it to your children to consider CPA for their secondary education. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions about CPA.

Chandler prep is an awful school if you're anything other than a straight white cisgender person…read more I've seen people get bullied and the staff did nothing. I got threatened to be killed by another student and the assistant headmaster said "that's just how he is". There also aren't any additional options for what you want to explore such as agriculture, mining, engineering, medicine, and other things that are beneficial for going to college. There is no helpful support if you are struggling, and the administration did nothing but harm and ignore the students and push their ideology upon them. There are some incredible teachers still there. Mr. and Mrs. Myers, Ms. Dupee, Dr. Carpenter, Mr. Allen, Mrs. Amorose. But a lot of the best teachers have left the school. It's not worth sending your children here. They don't gain an education that truly prepares them for college and it is not worth your child's mental health and safety to send them here. CPA is not a good school in the long run, even if their test scores are good.

We have been attending SMB for over 10 years, and we couldn't be happier. Weekly curriculum includes art, Spanish, PE, science and music. Extra-curricular activities are available for EVERY interest! Band, theater, choir, orchestra, chess, robotics, ballet, sports, STEM, to name a few. Junior high students can choose from many electives, such as forensic science, anatomy and physiology, personal finance, sewing, improvisation, screen writing, and many, many others! The teachers are exceptional and truly care about the success of EACH and every student. My older children are academically doing well, and were challenged by SMB's curriculum. They are now succeeding in a Catholic high school. My younger children struggled to return to grade level after Covid-19 quarantine (SMB returned to in-person option in Aug of 2020, thank goodness!) The teachers and support staff dedicated much time to getting my children back up to par. I was touched! The school has math and reading specialists and a counselor present on campus. The students practice the sacraments regularly; they attend mass at least weekly, as well as regular confession and adoration. Priests can be seen regularly attending morning prayer, and the sisters are employees of the school as teachers, school nurse and playground monitors. I love having religious priests and nuns present daily in the students' school day. The principal is a phenomenal leader! Lastly, the parent community is unbeatable; very supportive of each other and prays for the students, staff and each other with weekly rosaries and monthly adoration, and bible studies. It is worth your time to visit this school in person. You will be blown away!
