I've been to many football games here and have known many students that have attended Hamilton High School over the years. Hamilton is Arizona's largest high school and is in the Chandler Unified District. Several of my family members have attended here and so I have been around campus a lot. Hamilton HS has been awarded an A+ School of Excellence award by the Arizona Education Foundation on a few occasions. My review is mostly for the football games. Hamilton Huskies are usually one of the top teams in the state and have a some state titles under their belt. Former ASU and NFL player Terrell Suggs played for the Huskies. Hamilton High School is known for great test scores and football. Go Huskies! Segregated grades are divided into there own classrooms and activities are abundant. Admin is useless and incredibly dismissive to parents and students alike. Condescending is not a strong enough word for Robin Massey who is a counselor and incredibly manipulative towards the kids. The Principle Mr. Romero is just like Massey and has a freshman in the football team with a mouth. Of course he is 1st string and never in trouble. The double standard is obnoxious, along the well to do kids who are above any rules. No parent involvement, and a lack of consistency for Teachers. Some are great and other are reckless. I regret choosing Hamilton but here we are. I would just like to say....Hamilton didnt learn anything from there 2015 to 2019 public Hazing Scandal because hazing is still going on but verbally. I have reported this and of course nothing was done. I will be keeping a running log and then I am going to present all of my evidence to the District. Its sad that I dont trust Admin or some of the teachers and I have to email, take notes, have a meeting etc because of the issues going on. Hopefully Hamilton makes a change so things will be better in the future but as of right now....not a shot in hell this is a good experience! read more

As a freshman at this high school i can say I'm not very satisfied or pleased with how they treat me and possibly other students during this review I'm gonna state 3 reasons why your student shouldn't go her Reason number 1: School staff and authority by the principal here are horrible for example i walked to class and security stared me down and gave me a bad look because i didn't show up to the assembly, they ignore problems by students and instead of offering resources they suspend you for 2-5 days as district states at this point your better off going to a tempe union high school Ill post more of this review later read more

This place was crazy today! The construction on Arizona Ave & new asphalt work couldn't have fallen on a worst day. Huskies Days delays! With that and being here a few years it's a chaotic environment on occasion. Hamilton is an average school with much focus on their sports programs for athletic students ; especially Football. School has dealt with some bullying/hazing issues in the past years that cast the school in a bad light. It's hard to swallow having all the negative publicity in the media when your child attends the school. Hoping Hamilton can offer my student and others that are academically driven positive sponsorship / scholarships towards their future education & take away the harmful impacts that the sports drama has created. The staff of teachers seem to be good. However, coming from another state my students seemed further ahead in their learning from what their past institute offered & their additional college prep courses & programs. The dress code policy needs to be reinforced & they need to uphold what is already written. Two incidents while being here ( that we know of) with "hardware" being found on the property. They need to tighten up security! Also, little or no supervision before & after school in the parking lot. Should have additional staff observing and or patrolling the grounds with the excessive traffic. The non- teaching staff doesn't seem to pleasant at times, but may depend on whom you interact with. It's a "hit or miss" depending! On the positive side : Hamilton has many supportive groups & hotlines. This years student ID cards have contact numbers for many hotlines to help and support students that maybe suffering from personal issues. The facility also offers monthly classes on topics that affect families, these courses provide guidance for both parent and student - evening sessions. Always seem to be working to improve the growth. So, ultimately hoping for a more positive place for our students and a final outcome that far exceeds the experience we've had thus far. read more

This is our local high school and we have been quite happy with it. It is a large school but it is well managed and has a lot to offer this community. It is known for its sports programs but it is also a wonderful academic environment. The number of elective options offered to students is absolutely incredible and allows them to explore a variety of options and potential interests. The staff generally is great, although as to be expected, there are a couple of sourpuss teachers that probably should have moved on some time ago. But of course there are also the fantastic ones that make a wonderful impact and difference! read more

This review is for their football stadium. Our Son's team came here to play Hamilton. As one of the powerhouse schools in the Valley, they kicked our you-know-what pretty good. Despite the loss, I have to give them props for how well kept the football stadium/field is. There's plenty of parking, it's well lit, and the visiting bleacher section is nicer than most other schools. It was also easy to park and walk to the stadium. The food is fucking Gross. Roaches all over the breakfast/cafecteria and Mold on the food. (Bacon egg and cheese) the bread is dry and stale, the milk isn't any good. If it's left out for 10 minutes it will go bad. Do not enroll your children into this school. read more

This school has violated some health guidelines. There have been sightings of bats (which may be producing feces into the vents), according to Maricopa County, the principal host of rabies are bats. On top of on going construction during school hours; this disrupts the passage ways for students which leads them to miss class. It also causes students to be disciplined for tardiness for something that the school has caused. Regarding construction, the break down of bathrooms have lead to exposed pipes and human fecal matter, which have been seeping into the classrooms near by; causing students and staff to be of concern for their own health, therefore also missing educational hours for personal health. There has also been a moldy stench from the freshman building outside due to giant garbage disposal bins which are placed right by the cafeteria, (assuming food and things that can produce mold to be thrown out). Those bins don't seem to ever be cleaned and leak liquids and things that have gone bad. read more

I don't know who reviews high schools, but since I'm the first to post an actual review for an educational venue, apparently I am the chosen one to do so. As far as high schools go, I don't have much experience. Due to moving out of city one year, in the midst of my high school career, I have attended three high schools. (Wait...I guess I am pretty experienced.) Hamilton High is just your average high school - except larger. When I was attending, there had been approximately 4,000 (or close to that number, anyway) in my class. When you're in such a large school, there is a tendency for a high schooler to feel ignored and go through the whole emotional turmoil bullshit that every high schooler goes through...well, some people even experience that in their early twenties to late adulthood. So, to be totally honest with you, every high school is the same- the experiences, the people, the clubs, the "cramming sessions" for tests, proms, dances, cliques, yeah...it's all real. In some schools, it is more prevalent..and others not so much. Just stay in school and you'll be alright. read more

the school is great the senior pranks and the spirit weeks are always so fun!! sports their are great as well they raise a great team and community. teachers their are super positive and always try to make people have a good day. students can be themselves without getting judged! i like the fact that you can go out to eat whenever it's lunch this is a big school so it's explainable to have the kids get what ever they would like!! it's must be hard to keep track of hundreds of kids. my daughter says it's always fun on the first day cause everybody and their friends are running around laughing trying to find their classes all tg and it's so cute because the older grades always help the younger! they have high standers witch makes a good community. they've taught many kids including my daughter how to be mature. i've been to plenty football games here the cheerleaders are FANTASTIC!! and it's always a nice time to relax and watch the games. their teams are great. this school makes some good requirements to children. the food here is acceptable some may not be able to go out and eat but they always provide some food for the kids they hand out good things to keep our children healthy and strong. the classes are a great size and the air quality is breathable. read more

If you want your children to be pushed in sports with coaching that focuses on winning at any cost and having no sportsmanship, this is your school... They rank high because they push the kids to win at any cost. Its sad because we don't teach our kids to take cheap shots and play dishonorably. I was embarrassed for the school to be encouraging the kids to play this way. They should be ashamed of themselves and have the school board take a good hard look at what they are teaching our children. There's more to a game than winning... it's how you win, with integrity and know you won because you played well. Not because you took a cheap shot or got around the rules. It sucks the fun out of sports and burns out kids. They should be playing because they want to and not being home schooled like Russian gymnast. It's slave labor if you think about it. The parents want it more than the kids and only reward them when they win. They are looking for a retirement plan and not the joy of the sport, whatever it is. What are we teaching our children by doing this? Sad and more sad for the kids that have to compete against the obnoxious kids and coaches, with the parents cheering them on. Great School! Academics and Sports. The Teachers really push the kids and Senior Counselors are dubious in their care for kids excelling or striving for a secondary education. Their sports teams (especially football) are exceptional. The best players play. Some parents don't like it, but that's tough. If their child wants to just play the game, then they should join a club team (if they can). If the child wants to win, then he/she will practice, practice, practice to be the become a valuable player. The coaches are fair, and expectations are high. Hamilton High is a good school although not an A+. It is a big school with many choices on academics and sports but they are more focus on scores and standarized tests but pay little attention to the students per se. They offer an impressive curriculum of classes but poor attention to counseling and advise to students and PARENTS how they can take advantages of those resources available before your kid is a SENIOR. The Careers center is impressive online although sometimes the posting are outdated. Do not bother to email the center they will not reply. I've been waiting for 4 months. The teacher in charge went to seniors classrooms in early August, telling them to visit the center but when my son and his friends went, she told him to come back in 1 month to set an appointment because she will not be available until then??????????? So, that means you are by your own, you have to know the system to navigate through it before your kid is senior and its too late..... read more

This is my second year at Hamilton and I absolutely love it here so far. There are so many great opportunities for students here. There are a ton of clubs to attend as well as electives for students to add to their schedule. It provides so many opportunities and new experiences for the students as well as myself. The staff are wonderful, however of course, there are a few teachers that should not have even started working with children. But this is completely normal at pretty much all schools, there will always be those kind of teachers. The only thing I can think of when it comes to the con people might complain about is parking and how crowded the parking lot can get in the morning. However, the flow of traffic goes pretty quick in the front parking lot and when you put how many students actually attend Hamilton into consideration, it is to be expected. Not only is the academic environment wonderful, but Hamilton has pretty good sports teams/programs to get into. Hamilton is a great school. read more
