Our 8-year-old was experiencing adjustment difficulties following the move and had some incidents involving aggression. After only two weeks, Susan and Art told us that our 5-year-old was "great," but referred to him as "the other one" while saying that our 8-year-old did not belong there. We found this comparison and the way the situation was communicated to be insensitive and unprofessional. We were also told that they were not equipped to support children who act out or do not fit their daycare's approach. Susan stated that they had not experienced this type of behavior from another child in 10 years. Rather than working with us on a transition plan or discussing possible supports, they made it clear that our son could not remain in the program. Our son had been academically successful in Fremont Unified, but he was struggling emotionally with a major move and needed patience, structure, and constructive communication. We understand that every program has limits regarding the behaviors it can safely manage. However, we were very disappointed by the dismissive way our child and family were treated and by the lack of compassion shown during a difficult transition. After only two weeks of enrollment, we now have to find new childcare for both children. Based on our experience, I would urge parents--especially those whose children may need additional behavioral or emotional support--to ask detailed questions about the program's capabilities and approach before enrolling. They conveyed to us that they had limited training, resources, and ability to support children who need additional help, and that their program is better suited only to children who fit within their narrow approach to childcare.

Another amazing surprise is that Dede decorated the school in my son's Fortnite theme- plates, balloons, snack boxes, tablecloths....it was phenomenal! The kids LOVED coding their favorite game, playing Kahoot, foosball and listening to music. It's clear that Dede loves what she does, loves kids and is a very friendly, warm and caring person! I am really going to try and squeeze in an hour of coding into my son's schedule as today's even really sparked an interest!

Eamon engaged them by designing projects that tie to their interests. He explained new concepts clearly, always with video on, and asked them questions along the way to check their understanding. My…read moreson attends the before and after school Kindergarten program and let me tell you this....it's always a good indication that a child is happy at school when he/she wants to stay longer at pickup time! My son loves and is obsessed with sharks. The teachers go out of their way to print sharks for coloring and to find shark books for reading. My son's reading, writing, and basic oral communication have improved dramatically. We are grateful for the teacher's weekly updates. From reading the updates, it's obvious that the teachers take great care in educating and improving our son's skills. Although it is at an additional monthly cost, I'm so glad GK offers drop offs and pickups to and from local elementary schools. Before deciding on GK Danville, we had visited SEVERAL local centers that offer before/after school care. Some of them were small, tightly packed, messy, worn out, and unprofessional. Danville is owned by the same owner as the smaller campus in San Ramon (Bollinger Canyon). The Danville campus is also the largest we've seen between both Dublin and San Ramon franchises. They have a nice selection of books (which my son was instantly drawn towards). The facility and furniture are clean and modern. You don't feel the children are jam packed in there like sardines. Danville campus is a bit out of the way for our daily commute but we are extremely happy with our final choice. One thing I wished GK had was an outdoors play area. Granted, this is an educational facility and not a daycare. However, I believe children can greatly benefit from more outdoors play. Having said that, they do offer excursions on occasion. They've had trips to local parks, bowling alley, movies, museums, baseball game, etc. We are really looking forward to their summer program! Oh and I would have loved it if they offered a few more enrichment courses like arts, music, and Chinese (Only because I'm Chinese and in my ideal world, GK can be our one-stop-shop ;)) A few big shout-outs to some of their awesome educators: Ms Hannah (K teacher, now Director)- What a natural. You know she loves and cares for her students. Her methods are unconventional yet innovative. She has a clear understanding of what a child needs to excel and to be the best of themselves. Mr Brandon (who had unfortunately left for further education) - Also amazing. My son totally misses him and his fun rides to and from school. We can only hope he might come back again! I've seen him teach and he always made it fun and interesting for his students. Ms Linda (who had also unfortunately left in pursuit of her own business) - She will also be greatly missed! Another caring and loving teacher who did an excellent job managing the school. Mr Mandeep (quirky and fun owner) - Super friendly and easy to talk to. He occasionally brings their pet dog to school which the kids LOVE. He invests in these kids and obviously care for them. My daughter who turned 4 recently can't wait to join her brother and attend GK Danville. Keep up the amazing work guys! We are proud to be a part of GK Danville family!!

We had an awful experience with our child. I enrolled him for three weeks of summer 2024. Then we…read moreenrolled him for afterschool program. He is a fourth grader. Until third grade, he went to different after school program but this time one of his friend went there so I enrolled him. On month three, they mail me that my son has serious mental health issues and they can not continue. They gave me two weeks notice to withdraw my kid. After one week the director told me my child has behavioral issues that needs to be consulted or treated! Well his school and other afterschool never informed me! I talk to his school teacher and she informed no issues at all. I asked Lauren the director why she didn't inform me during three weeks of summer camp? She told me she wanted but didn't know I was enrolling him for afterschool! That was the answer. My son went to different summer camp before their one. No issues at all. Second month, my son was having nightmares not to go there and this time we set up a meeting. The teachers told us they will take care of his needs. His needs are he wants help of his Russian school of mathematics homework and breaks from their own stressful curriculum. They said Russian math school is their rival so they won't help! They told us they will give him breaks and I told them I am not worried about their curriculum because my son is at the good side of his school so I am not concerned of his education. He never goes afterschool with homework. He finished at school. They told me my son multiple time told them "HE is not a good person. He doesn't have any point of existence." "HE wants to nuke the whole world" "He wants to crashed to the windshield of the car and doesn't want to wear a seatbelt". He did says all out of his frustration of that creepy place. Teachers treated him so bad that he just wants all the negative thoughts. A nine year old having nightmares of a new afterschool means a lot. The director Lauren didn't inform me any of those when happened. She mailed me with a date of withdrawal which is against California licensing. I informed my son's teacher. She was surprised the way they address his behavioral issues because none of those happening at school. I withdraw him right away and put him to another facility. Asked for what teachers thinking about him after two months. The teachers answer was "He is a nice addition to their classroom". So this management and director doesn't know and doesn't care about children. They wants your money and specific children. The children who will sit down on a space until parents will pick up. Children wants some moving will be addressed as a behavioral issue child when no one else before informed parents. They pushed my son to act crazy and put a notice of withdrawal because they have lots of waitlist of children who are quite and can sit on a space for three to four hours. Others will get a withdrawal notice after one or two weeks. Business will run fast too.

We highly recommend Genius Kids! Our preschooler (age 3.5) has been at Genius Kids since he was 6…read moremonths old. He enjoys going to school and enthusiastically shares what he's learning! The GK team balances learning and play, with an ever-changing set of hands-on activities, including art/crafts, gardening, physical activities, and indoor/outdoor play. Each week has a "theme" for the kids to learn about (e.g., birds, dinosaurs, transportation, Earth Day, jungle animals, etc). Genius Kids has an emphasis on public speaking, and our child has grown more confident by sharing a poem from memory each week with his classmates. There was a change of ownership at the beginning of 2026, and the change has broadly been for the better. The center's leadership is very engaged with students and parents. We've seen big advances in our child's reading with the new team. They have recently added optional meals and sports with an outside coach, as well. Business administration is flawless and responds quickly.
