We left when the CHILDREN started introducing the songs politically and the parents likely weren't in agreement (only one person in the packed out audience clapped). That ruined it. This was supposed to be a celebration of San Ramon's kid's achievements. Politics??? Really? Politics weren't what these parents were here for. More importantly politics are not appropriate when the kids are too young to have strong discernment between what their teachers are telling them to say and what they are seeking to understand and cultivate for themselves. Because they're kids and they're getting a cool opportunity to perform, they might even be too intimidated to refuse to say it ...which is straight up exploitation. School of Rock: please don't manipulate our kids that way, stay in your lane. Parents: be advised that you will not be your child's only moral influence when you send them to this music school. They don't just grow talent. They tell them what to believe and you might not agree.

Not explaining any of the moves, getting visibly frustrated with our daughter when she wasn't doing the movements just from hearing what to do on her SECOND week there. Mind you this was her first experience doing anything like this and had just turned 5. Then when the teachers (yes, plural) would get down on her level to show her, they'd aggressively grab her leg or arm and move it fairly rough to the position they wanted her in. They did this also with the split stretch -- which again, she'd never done before. I went and asked if they were supposed to know anything before this class because the way they were acting towards her was ridiculous. I told the front desk girl about it and she was surprised and brought it to the owners. My daughter cried when we got into the car, saying her teachers didn't like her and she didn't want to go back. The next class, she spoke to me and said that the teachers that were treating her like that were spoken to and it shouldn't happen again. That entire class she was there for that day, they would point at her and laugh (THE TEACHERS) when she was trying to do the movements, look at her after falling and roll their eyes and walk away. It was a NIGHTMARE. We never went back.

The teaching staff (at least for Level 1) has gone downhill since we started. My daughter has been in Level 1 prep for over two years because the teachers need to pay better attention to their students, and less attention to their cell phones, and to each other... The teacher we started with (Miss Izzy) is no longer at the school (went to college). The teaching staff has changed constantly since that change; we've seen 5-10 different girls teaching this class on a weekly basis. We recently visited another school (for just one hour) and with a little assistance our daughter was able to complete moves she was not receiving guidance on at VC. She is now rated Level 2, and is making huge strides and progress. We sent an email to the staff letting them know we were unhappy and that we were not renewing membership, in addition to addressing the above issues and received no phone call, or email back. This was upsetting since we had our two daughters there for quite a while, and had a good report with the front desk staff.

On a Sunday, the building is pretty empty so I wasn't sure if we were in the right place but we walked into the Forge lab and were greeted by Rishabh, the founder of Future Forge. My daughter especially enjoy the circuits work in addition to learning coding, very good to have some hands on balance. He said they told him how to sign onto the computer, but then he'd be playing on Minecraft the entire day with little supervision and next to zero instruction. He was basically playing Minecraft for the entire time he was there and that was it. He had friends in the class as well and they also verified the lack of any direction or instruction. At the end of the week, we asked again what he had learned and he promptly said, "Nothing." I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this one deserved putting the calories into. It was a complete waste of time, energy, and money.

Our son has had a bad experience here.  He says that he gets a piece of paper to work off of, and…read morethe coaches come by every once in awhile and ask if it is ok, and that is about the extent of the coaching.  He has had problems with parts missing from his project as other students take things out of his bin when they can't find something.  They are usually the high demand parts, so he has a really tough time replacing them.  When he asks the coaches, they tell him to go look for the part, and he spends a good portion of the time looking for parts as they don't provide it for him.   He says when he has a question, several other smaller kids interrupt, and the coach's attention gets scattered, and they don't answer his question ultimately.   So, all in all, he is not able to make much progress week to week.  I was shocked, as the per lesson cost of this program is almost the price of private music or tennis instruction, that he would get so little attention and help.  Something so simple as the low availability of parts is something that could be managed, and there should be enough coaches to answer the kids' questions. I had asked about the competition path last summer and was told our son had to learn the basics for about a year first. When we said we would like to cancel, all of a sudden, this competition "class" was an option. I suspect that this basically operates like a daycare with legos for most, and all the actual coaching gets saved for the few kids in competition.

We had a wonderful experience with Barbara. She is a dedicated "foodie," clearly loves the process of cooking and is a great host. Her love for cooking is contagious! We were all swept up in her positive vibe and enthusiasm. We chose the Filet Mignon as our main course along with garlic mashed potatoes, carrots, etc. and Bananas Foster for dessert. Really delicious! It was a great lesson in the science and art of cooking that we are putting to good use at home and will come in handy especially when preparing meals for the holidays. Top notch!
