The patio was beautiful until the grout bubbled and crumbled a few weeks later. Hunter, the owner of Venator, was responsive abd twice attempted to replace the grout. However, the grout should not have been replaced in freezing temperatures. Again it has crumbled. I have reached out to Hunter over a month ago several times with texts and photos, also filed with the BBB. He has not responded. I have paid nearly $15,000 in full. I can't speak for others who hired Venator to do other types of work which may be totally different…read morethan the work I required. I hired Venator to install a 4" channel drain that was to replace an original 28 year old 1" drain that was no longer adequate to collect heavy rains and move it away from my patio. While Venator's proposal seemed to be promising to provide a much needed improvement, the end results were a big disappointment. A concrete opening had to be cut in order to receive the new Spee-D Channel drain along a 25' section of my concrete patio, but they cut the opening too small. They proceeded to trim the Spee-D Channel on the bottom to make it fit into the undersized opening, which compromised the integrity of the plastic channel and wasted time focusing on the retrofitting process. All they had to do was to cut an additional 2-3" strip from the concrete and the drain would have dropped into place as the instructions suggested. After numerous attempts to inform the owner, who refused to visit the site to inspect the work, he insisted the job was being done by "Industry Standards". His main communication was via Text. I kept him informed of the shoddy workmanship with the hopes he would come by to see for himself. That was not on his agenda, even after expressing my dissatisfaction with the job as it was proceeding. I was not given a dedicated day for the work to be done. It seemed like my job was fitted in after the workers finished on a previous job. The two workers showed up at 6pm on day one and worked until 8:30pm. Not being able to finish, they had to return the next day at 3pm and worked until 8pm. The two worked hard doing their job but it seemed like this was an exploration, not a familiar experience for them. The left photo is what the installation should look like if done correctly and the right photo is what was installed, after having to cut the bottom flange on the channel drain to force it into the opening in the ground. Unfortunately, you never know what results you will get from a vendor until the job is completed. I am sorry I hired Venator for this job and I do not recommend him for this type of work.

Eric was recommended by neighbors who had successful work done my him and his crew. Eric is professional, punctual and consistent. The work and clean up was exceptional. They rebuilt the wall and put the proper netting, drainage and bricks in place. My plants were protected as well. I need repainting but I am attaching some proof of great work. We also needed some brick repair on a front yard wall and that was handled nicely as well.

After several years, I got up the nerve to look up contractors who were willing to finish it for us. I'm so thankful to have found Eric and his company, Salazar Masonry Service. Eric was very responsive from the get go. He was thorough in explaining the process and what was needed to complete the job...and then some! Eric's communication was awesome from the first time I reached out. He was professional, friendly, and professional. He let me know the morning of when he was on his way and progress getting here (his commute was 90 minutes away). I got a quote for material and he offered to call and get a better price and then I called in to pay for it. What a kind gesture! He and his crew were timely and efficient. Eric explained the process and showed us what he was going to do. When he ran out of material, he got more and when he charged us for the material and trip, he didn't price gouge. He showed us the receipt for the additional materials and that is what we paid. We couldn't be more happy with job and Eric's professionalism. He is an artist in his craft and what contractors should be: honest! The retaining wall looks amazing and we're thankful that the 5 year chapter of the wall is closed! Pictures to follow!

From start to finish, the entire experience was outstanding. The communication throughout the process was exceptional -- JD kept us informed every step of the way, making sure we always knew what to expect. When it came to the actual work, the team's attention to detail and thoroughness were truly impressive. Nothing was overlooked, and the quality of their work spoke for itself. What really set them apart was their professionalism. JD, Jay T, and Dominic were respectful, hardworking, and clearly took great pride in what they do. They didn't just meet our expectations -- they went above and beyond in every way, making sure the job was done right and that we were completely satisfied before they left. If you're looking for a team that is reliable, skilled, and genuinely cares about the work they do, look no further. We would highly recommend JD and his crew at Aqua Guard to anyone. I was promised the lowest price, but that was not what I ultimately received. Despite this, I chose to move forward. The final results did not match the expectations set by the video presentation. There was little to no lifting completed, and some areas of the concrete still have rough surfaces. Additionally, the salesperson made changes to the project scope but did not communicate them clearly. As a result, certain cracks were left untreated because those areas were no longer included in the updated diagram. Communication overall was lacking. I had to follow up myself to get an estimated time of arrival, rather than being proactively informed. Finally, I felt pressured by the salesperson to sign off on the project based on promises that were not fulfilled. My initials are MJ Project contract was signed 4/7/2026

Our price was far less than other estimates, and when they were done they actually did more and charged us a little less than the estimate because of some minor delays. They also got out and did it very soon after we told them we wanted their services. Many others had long waits before they could get to our job. They did additional services like a nicer than expected cleanup and addition of pine straw where they had to bring their machines and people between the houses. They got us pine bark where they had dug in to the ground and it was bare. They also did several French drains we didn't expect with the estimate. The reason others didn't want the job was because it is very narrow between the houses. They said they couldn't get their equipment through. Even the demo required a lot of manual labor to remove concrete blocks from the prior retaining wall and blocks from the prior patio because of the narrow area between the homes. Paul's crew found a way instead of a way out of taking on the job. It was hard work, and they did it quickly and efficiently. Our patio looks fantastic and the wall is perfect. I highly recommend Concrete Solutions.
