His service became exceptional when my delivery was interrupted due to the big storms this week in Houston. The warehouse lost power. After trying a few chair/sofa sets, we chose one we liked, let Todd know, and he helped us complete the purchase. He was very helpful, efficient and accommodating at explaining our purchase and delivery options. We thought we were going to have to wait until the middle of the week for delivery at the price we had agreed, which was great but we were hoping to watch the Astros on Sunday afternoon on our new patio. On my birthday we chose to go look at backyard furniture. The sales representative was training but appeared nervous and unsure of herself. They are receiving one star due to the questions they asked. One was my address. I thought I would possibly receive mailers from them. I haven't. This incident occurred 3 months ago. We are in the final stages of furnishing a house in The Bahamas and needed a patio furniture set and an outdoor dining set. I waklked into the Kirby store and was greeted by a young salesman named Julian and told him what I was looking for "conceptually". He got it immediately walked me right over to something that was almost exactly it except it had glass top. I told him it was perfect except for that. He brought me over two two other options that fit. I asked 100 questions and he knew the answer to all of them without looking them up. He knows every single piece of furniture in the store, including availability, color options, cushions etc. I was blown away by his knowledge and professionalism. It is so rare to go to a retail store these days and get such exquisite service from someone so knowledgeable and superbly competent; especially a young person. I told the manager I would hire Julian in a second. He was stunningly good at his job and I doubt that there is anyone who knows his business like Julian does. He worked out a great price and arranged shipping effortlessly. He took care of us like we were precious and provided service way beyond the call of duty. I'm told that they no longer carry this set and can't get a replacement chair. I'm offered a store credit. I explained to Coleman the new manager, that I have no use for a store credit to buy a chair that wont match the dining set I have. I want a refund and I'm told that they can't issue a refund. This place is a joke... They sold a set of furniture to my husband that would not fit on our deck and also was not reversible/interchangeable. When we went to see what we could do to correct the issue, since clearly it was not the right fit, they told us it was a final sale. Both sales associate Kathy S. AND the manager looked me and my husband in the eye and said sorry it's a final sale so we will do you a "favor" and let you upgrade to a different set. I told them that we were not aware it was a final sale, and if that were the case they should have made it clear to us prior to selling it. After making a few phone calls, we came to find out it WASN'T a final sale, and when Kathy called us back and left a voicemail she said she wanted to "educate" us on the terms of the sale. Sorry, but the only people that need to educate themselves about their merchandise are the people who work there and MANAGEMENT. We setup a pick up time, the merchandise was taken back, but Kathy told my husband that the credit could not be issued until we returned a certificate for the warranty that we never even received. 5 weeks after the pickup of merchandise and finally we get a credit for our purchase by talking to someone entirely different, who also sounded completely shocked that we were ever told that we needed to do anything but return the merchandise. My husband was so upset about the dishonesty that he said that even if they had what we had wanted, we would still purchase from another location just so we didn't have to deal with those people. We ended up going to Chair King in Katy and purchased a different set from a knowledgeable and helpful team that wasn't out to get us. Avoid the scam, avoid this location!!! read more

They are ignorant about products that they are authorized sellers of. Be very careful when buying grills because they think all grills are convertible from propane to natural gas. However, conversion will void the warranty for many of the grills they sell. Then when you point this out, they refuse to make amends. I will never buy anything from chair king again. read more

First - great selection and high quality. Love their furniture and would have made a purchase had it not been for a totally obnoxious sales guy. Told us his name 2 times within the first 60 seconds in the door. I could tell he obviously worked on commission. As we looked around he followed us - no biggie. But then he told us mid store - that he works on commission and if we do not buy today and come back to ask for him since he spent time with us .... Spent time ?! Followed us and tossed out a sentence about a few pieces we sat in ?! When we asked how a piece holds up with time. He said its all made to be outside. No duh ?! It's a outside store. We wanted to know how it really wears. Just a totally obnoxious dude. We will look at another location- I'll never go to this store again. We wanted to get some patio chairs and after a few failed attempts at other stores that had little to no inventory, we decided to visit Chair King. First of all, they have a huge selection. Wicker, teak, metal, canopy, sling, rockers, you name it.... It was actually kind of overwhelming. Luckily, our budget helped narrow it down quite a bit because they have some expensive stuff here! That said, we also saw a set of 2 chairs + side table for $200ish, so don't be put off by the high end price tags you might see when you first enter. We visited during a sale of some kind. I'm not sure how frequently those happen but I would definitely suggest trying to time your visit so you can get a better deal. We would not have purchased our chairs and cushions at full cost. Bryan helped us and not only was he incredibly helpful, he also left us alone for most of the shopping time so we never felt pressured or rushed. The only disappointment was we thought we could leave with our chairs that day and it turns out they don't have anything there - it's all in a warehouse so we have to wait a week to pick them up. read more

I am honestly so disgusted with this dishonest, poor quality establishment that I would rate them "negative 5 stars" if I could. I wouldn't buy furniture from here again if my life depended on it.... I recently purchased a $2,500 resin wicker sectional patio set from this Chair King location. The set was on sale per their July 4th circular. It was beautiful in the store and I was excited to have it on the deck in my new home. The FIRST set of furniture I received from them (which we picked it up at the distribution center and assembled it ourselves, in an effort to save the $125 delivery/assembly fee) was warped so badly that the front left leg of one of the sectional pieces DID NOT EVEN TOUCH THE GROUND. I immediately called the store and the associate who originally sold me the furniture (Kathy, no longer with the company apparently) apologized and said they would let me swap this out for another set. Since I was unable to pick up a second set at the distribution center myself this time around due to my work schedule, I asked if they would please deliver the replacement piece to my home and assemble it for me. They would, but I would have to pay the $125 delivery fee. I was pretty upset about this, since this swap out was due to their product being damaged, but I paid it and set up a delivery time. After waiting for 3+ hours for the delivery guys to show up a few days later in the scheduled delivery window we established, the SECOND set of furniture was damaged in THE EXACT SAME PLACE as the first set. This is especially annoying because the furniture was already assembled in the truck when they arrived, so basically the company is trying to give me something that they KNOW is damaged. At this point, I was extremely annoyed and called the store again. Kathy, the same associate who sold me the first piece and I spoke with regarding the replacement piece, wasn't working that day so I spoke with Sherry, who said she had no authority to do anything about this. The delivery guys (who were waiting at my house for instructions on what to do with the SECOND and FIRST damaged sets) were instructed by Sherry / her manager that they could take the second set back, but "didn't have room on the truck for the second set" (this was a LIE as I looked inside the truck and saw that it was completely empty). She said "someone" would call me back the next day to discuss swapping the furniture out for a THIRD set. After having to take a half day off of work for the delivery truck (after already spending 4 hours earlier in the week setting up the first damaged set myself) and still not having undamaged furniture in my possession, I really just wanted a full refund, but Kathy (who never called me back, I had to call the store back multiple times over the next two days) insisted "they wanted to make it right, and that nothing like this has ever happened in all her years working at Chair King" (tough for me to believe). So, I set up a delivery window for a THIRD set of furniture to be delivered to my house in the following days. (Why I had to have a window when this was their third attempt to give me what I paid for is beyond me....) The delivery guys came (and actually called me 30 minutes before arriving which I was told they wouldn't do, but made me a little less enraged which was nice) and tried to deliver me ANOTHER SET OF DAMAGED FURNITURE. The exact same leg would not touch the ground - JUST LIKE THE PRIOR TWO SETS I HAD RECEIVED. Absolutely beside myself, I called Chair King and spoke with Sherry again. She said, after speaking with her manager, the delivery guys were authorized to take both sets (the set still at my house and the third set just delivered, which was also damaged) back with them and that she would process my full refund. After giving Sherry my payment information, she was to credit me back for the furniture, the additional "protection plan" and the delivery fee. She would also email me a receipt. That was 7/6/16, and as of the morning of 7/11/16, I had not received a credit to my credit card or an emailed receipt showing confirmation that the refund had been processed. So, I called Chair King, and oddly enough, there is a new store manager (Josh). After getting him up-to-speed on my issue (the third or fourth person I've had to educate on this ridiculous scenario), he spoke with "his VP" who would authorize a full refund. While Josh was the only one I dealt who was remotely helpful, I still had to drive back to the Chair King store and wait about 20-30 minutes to receive my refund.... Seriously, if you are wanting to actually "get what you pay for", in that, for $2,500+, you want a quality product and at least decent customer service, DO NOT SHOP AT CHAIR KING. I can't stress that enough. This patio furniture set has cost me one day of time off at my job AND an endless amount of frustration. It really isn't worth it! read more

So unfortunately this chain really does have the best selection of merchandise in the city. Prices are in the higher end of what you would pay online. But the worst part is the sales people are creepy and the exchange policy is awful. So make sure you pick out the pieces you want and don't change your mind. We wanted to exchange one piece for another and the manager tried to up charge me for a less expensive piece because I didn't pay tax during the promotion instead of just doing an even exchange. The Sales Associate, Barbara Washington, and Manager, Steven Evans, were very accommodating and worked together to provide us what we wanted at a reasonable & affordable price. Purchased $5,300 of patio furniture (Sunburst - Solaris Designs) only to find out that 30-45 days later that the very same patio furniture I had purchased was on sale for 1/2 the price I paid for it. Store unwilling to credit me the difference. Several months later, the finish/paint on a side table, as well as the Sunburst cast top table has started to chip away. I filed a warranty claim on February, 2016. Chair King's solution? To replace the side table and to offer me a can of spray paint to repaint areas of the cast top table where needed. Completion of my warranty claim? April 6, 2017. These people do not deal in good faith and in the case of Sunburst - Solaris Designs, sell defective merchandise which is clearly overpriced considering the product quality. Disappointed that a company that has been in business since 1950 would treat a customer in this manner. read more

My wife and I recently purchased a patio set with a fire pit / coffee table and really enjoyed the experience. We were met by Barbara as soon as we walked in and she offered to help if we had anything in particular in mind. She was always nearby but we never felt smothered by her presence. We loved their selection and everything appeared to be of great quality. When we had questions, she was there to answer and would then give us the space we need to chat and explore. We ended up going to Patio 1 after this and while the selection wasn't bad, the service just wasn't as comfortable as it was and Chair King. It felt a little pretentious and they tried to say that their competitors all offer subpar products. We left and went straight back to Chair King to make a deal with Barbara and Steven on the set that we liked best. Our furniture was delivered in perfect condition and we're happy to have met Barbara and Steven. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to my friends and family. read more

Please do not buy the Havana Aluminum wicker resin patio chairs and glass table top. Within 4 years it will decay and start shredding. Chair King will not do anything about once the warranty is up.
