Growing up, Chacho's has always been a nostalgic staple--I do recommend their food, it's pretty good. The staff is friendly but forgetful; I ordered a jack and coke, and they didn't ID me (yes, I am over 21), after repeating my order to me before paying (I was the only customer in line) he asked me again if I had the drink. Not much of a complaint but it would make sense to ask if there was a line. When I got home, over 20 minutes away from this exact location, my Jack & coke tasted like all jack and no coke--just the color was there. Stopped in to grab a quick bite for me and my wife for lunch yesterday. I was told they have some decent tacos and they definitely did. I ordered the crispy beef taco plate and a beef burrito. Both were pretty good. And the pricing was very reasonable. The staff immediately greeted me and explained the menu. It is an older establishment but it was clean and neat. Oh my word!! We went with family and they ordered the Kong nachos but 1/2 order. We got the burrito just half and puffy tacos.... My husband's face when he saw how big and filling always the half burrito!! He said it was delicious and worth every bite. My puffy tacos with the beans and rice- so tasty and yummy. We also got the frozen strawberry marg. This is a must have!! Service was the nice gentleman who took our order, but the TV's were too loud and we had to scream talk over the volume along with clean our table and seats before we could ever sit down. That would be my only complaint... clean the floors, tables and have cleaning supplies out instead of us looking for it and having to use a lot of napkins. Would I ever come to Chacho's again-- ABSOLUTELY!! Next time I'm in town Chacho's will be on our list for dinner options. read more

Late night burrito run after a delayed flight. Pretty large menu, and first time here, so went with a steakhouse burrito. The full size burrito was really huge and pretty stuffed with beans, rice, lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. After 7 bites in, I still didn't get a piece of steak until halfway through it. The meat was really tender and had good flavor, but disappointed in the amount of beef. Maybe they give more chicken or other meats, but this ended up being a overpriced bean and cheese burrito, at least it tasted good. read more

I recently moved to the area and was excited to see Chacho's was open. Unfortunately, that excitement didn't last long. There is one worker at night who is consistently rude and makes even simple requests feel like an inconvenience. I've asked for items that are part of my meal but weren't included, and the response is always short and dismissive. They also frequently say they're out of guacamole -- which is surprising considering it's on most of the menu. If something isn't available, that's understandable, but the attitude when customers ask about it is unnecessary. I really wanted to enjoy this location, but the customer service has made that difficult. I will literally drive out of the way instead of come here. read more

So I usually go to the Poss location, but since I was in the area thought I'd go to what was the original location for me. So I did spend much much longer in the drive thru line with only 3 cars in front of me. I ordered some of my favorites....puffy beef tacos....which was just as wonderful as ever. I do wish they would reopen as some things on the menu I'd like to sit and enjoy but I really doubt they ever wil. They don't even have ac available for the poor kitchen staff. My margarita was a disappointment, same size as Taco Cabana but over double the cost, but it packed a lot of alcohol in that size. I would rather have a larger size with less alcohol in it. Will I be back? Probably at the Poss location...still love the food and my generous topping. read more

Chacho's has some really great tacos! My fiancé and I went for breakfast tacos and came back a few days later to try a couple of their regular tacos and they were all pretty good! The first morning we went we ordered a Bean and Cheese Taco on Corn Tortillas and a Steakhouse Beef and Egg Taco with Cheese. The Bean and Cheese wasn't anything too special, but it was absolutely stuffed with beans and cheese. The drawbacks were that the beans were entirely too drippy and borderline watery and therefore didn't stay in the super thin corn tortillas that were doubled up to hold everything, and the cheddar cheese hadn't melted into the taco and was still cold in places. The beef in the Steakhouse Beef and Egg Taco was what made the taco. It was seasoned fantastically and there was a really good meat to egg ratio. Though it was a little fattier and chewier for my preferences, I definitely won't hold it against the taco; if you don't mind a little gristle, you'll absolutely love it. The eggs were extremely bland and almost tasteless but they were moist and had a good consistency. The added cheddar cheese was definitely a good call, and the slightly thicker flour tortilla was a standard flour tortilla. I'd give the breakfast tacos three stars. The afternoon we returned for lunch, we ordered a Steakhouse Beef Fajita Taco, an Authentic Quesadilla Taco with Steakhouse Beef, and a Limeade. The "medium" Limeade was the biggest medium drink I've ever had in my life. I'm convinced they accidentally gave us a large, maybe even a mega, and I have no complaints either because it was absolute sugary deliciousness. It was actually extremely sugary and sweet with virtually no tartness to be tasted, but I enjoyed it immensely. It was so big that I ended up sipping on it for the remainder of the afternoon. The Steakhouse Beef Fajita Taco was made with the same thicker flour tortilla and seasoned steak we'd tried earlier and they balanced each other out really well. The onions, however, were soggy and I dare say slimy. Even though they were seasoned well, we ended up picking them off entirely after no more than two bites because they ruined an otherwise yummy taco. The Quesadilla Taco on the other hand was absolutely delicious. There was lots of gooey cheese that worked super well with the steakhouse beef, and the veggies in this taco were once again well seasoned but actually crisp this time with super satisfying crunches. The doubled up thin corn tortillas must be a norm as this taco had two tortillas holding everything in it like the breakfast taco did. Though the Fajita Taco gets four stars, the Quesadilla gets five. We'd definitely like to come back to try more items on the menu outside of the tacos, but we were pretty impressed with the tacos that weren't on the breakfast menu. Though the breakfast tacos were fine, that's probably the best I can say about them. I'd go to a different restaurant for breakfast tacos, but I'd definitely come here for lunch. If you give Chacho's a try, be sure to snag a giant Limeade while you're there! I highly recommend it! read more

I come here all the time and never in my entire life have I ever had this type of experience. For starters my order was wrong when I came in to have it fixed she seemed cool and it didn't seem like an issue. Then the manager walked up and asked me what I needed and kind of had a horrible attitude towards me but I brushed it off. Then he told her something and gave her attitude. She then caught an attitude with him and while she was remaking my food didn't even roll my burrito and just kind of threw my food on the counter in front of me and when I said thank you she stormed off. Both manager and employees need a reality check, just bc I'm not having a bad day or not getting along with a coworker I don't take it out on customers. The dining room is finally open once again after 5 years at this location at Callaghan /IH10. We have been there about four times. It seems it started going downhill almost immediately ! The first day it opened the food was wonderful, the service great and the margaritas excellent. Then the next time the service was poor and the food was okay but everything was slow. The restaurant still had workers trying to fix things and it was not very clean. The salsa bar had empty bins so had to ask they be filled. The third time the food was good but service slow and said they are busy with drive through. Not enough people working. Plus the restrooms were out of order!!! How can you open a restaurant with no restrooms! This 4th and last time we tried again. Service was very slow. Puffy tacos were over cooked, food tasted fair. One of the salsas was very strange tasting. And they had no margaritas. None!! Plus I don't know where they were getting their water, but the tea and the water tasted bad. Very very very disappointed. Will not return. They can only focus on drive through and now that's slow. They were NOT ready to open the dining room!!! What a shame. I don't know why people are reporting this as closed - it was open last night when I drove past it on the way to Las Palapas down the road. Why drive past it and go to Las Palapas? Well, because I went through this drive through once already and learned my lesson. The only real positive thing about this place is it's open late, which is convenient. When I went through the drive through, there was quite a bit of trash lying around and it smelled pretty bad. The service was okay, but not special. The food - well, not good. I called this location to find out if it was open for dine in orders. The lady that answered the phone said, " Why? Do you wanna come in and eat today or what?". I responded with yes. She then proceeded to tell me she was too busy to talk on the phone, that they were drive through only and then hung up in my face. Chacho's website does not give any indication that 2 out of their now 4 locations are drive through only. The other two say "opening soon". I completely understand being busy and frustrated but that is an unacceptable excuse to be nasty to a customer. So instead my family and I will go to Torchy's. The staff is rude and the food sucked. Ordered pacadillo nachos, I understand using onions, tomatoes and bell pepper in your food for flavor but not to where it overpowers everything else in the dish. You couldn't even taste the cheese because you have over powering onion & bell pepper taste. Not to mention they put it in the microwave too long to melt the cheese and chips & cheese were burned. Where to start. I am highly disappointed in the food I received tonight, especially with the money I spent. Almost close to $100 and my order that was repeated back to me twice came out completely wrong. I would say part of it is my fault because I should have fully checked before driving off. I ordered Carne Asada Tacos, mind you after looking fully at the menu I saw they didn't have it although the runner who came to the car said they did. I asked for corn tortilla, he said okay and it was possible. Instead I ended up with flour tortillas and not exactly what I wanted. That was a waste of money, especially since I didn't even eat it. The brisket burrito was thrown together and the brisket was dry, also didn't have any sauce inside of it. The chicken nachos looked like a clump of cheese. And there was barely any chicken or items that were suppose to be on there. Chips were semi soggy. I ordered a enchilada plate that I was charged for and never received. I did receive the 3 enchiladas that I ordered separately, with 1 on the side. The cheese was pretty greasy and the beef was barely there. Only thing that was great was the margaritas. This has been our Friday Night go-to place this past month to enjoy their delicious nachos for the family at an amazing price. Our boys love the cheesy King Kong Nachos! These bad boys are drenched in cheese and loaded with chicken, ground beef and fajitas. In the center of the large plate is a cup of creamy nacho cheese. I can't eat these nachos without visiting their salsa bar. The roasted salsa is the BEST!! They also have mango salsa, avocado salsa and more tasty goodness. I love margaritas and theirs are ok. I prefer the strawberry margarita, but I also notice guests ordering the jack and coke. This is definitely a casual family spot to enjoy some good 'ol Mexican food and nachos. read more
