I love the no-wait service and the tingle of the conditioner. The salon was clean, bright, modern, spacious, and welcoming. I called Friday wanting to schedule a weekend appointment for a silk press. An appointment was available for Saturday at 1230 pm with Amelia. I took that slot & made my 20$ deposit. I then received a txt saying she had an 1130am instead, GREAT! Even better. So Saturday comes, I arrive ON TIME for my 1130am appointment....I sit and wait for one full hour until she starts my hair at 1230. I should've walked out after waiting 1 full hour but I stayed so anyways She tells me to go to the bowl & starts washing my hair. While she's washing my hair she tells me she will be doing a steam treatment because of the shedding my hair is having due to coming out of braids, ok. I get the steam treatment, then under the dryer. Now I'm back in her chair & this is where is gets interesting! Ms.unprofessional starts detangling my hair & then tells me it will be 1$ per minute because my hair is very tangled. Now any other stylist I've ever been to makes sure to detangle or at the very least touch the clients hair BEFORE they start to process. She also tells me due to the density of my hair it will be an extra change because it takes her more time to do. NEVER im my life have I heard that stupid line before. My hair is manageable & actually very easy to do for experienced stylist. Now im questioning her because the price I was told over the phone ( 75$) has sky rocketed up to 115$!!!!! HOW ?! She claims the person that makes the appointments told me the wrong price & im a new client blah blah blah. Well if that's the case why wasn't any of this explained BEFORE she started the process ? By this time im mad because you're obviously trying to get more money out of me, if you're broke just say. No need to lie to clients. After ms.unprofessional storms away, we go back & forth over pricing. This con artist tells me the price is 135$...now remember that 20$ deposit I did so really my total was 155$!!! My mother came in for a simple root touch-up, curling her roots to match her existing curly perm…read moremaintained for years, on her naturally fine straight hair. Germaine, a "licensed stylist" agreed to the service and quoted a price. My mother trusted her. What followed was a complete failure of basic professional technique. The stylist never wrapped my mother's ends in foil, which any licensed cosmetologist knows is standard practice to prevent chemical cross contamination during a root perm. As a result, the chemical fried her ends entirely. Her hair is now permanently damaged, the roots are curly, and the ends are an unrecognizable, frizzy, undefined texture that is not straight, wavy, or curly. It looks and feels like a kitchen scrubber. Every professional stylist we have consulted since has said the same thing: there is nothing that can be done. She has to wait for all of her hair to grow out. We explicitly told this stylist before she began that my mother is a professional singer and performer, that her hair is central to her image and livelihood, and asked her to be careful. She said, "I got you". She did not. When my mother returned the next day in tears asking for a refund, the response from the salon was appalling. Instead of taking accountability, the stylist refused to engage. Germaine and other Staff members and even a customer in the chair began ganging up on my mother, yelling at her to leave. My mother, who was crying and simply asking for what was right was made to feel like a criminal. All of this is on the security camera. The salon eventually refunded the service charge, but refused to return the $100 cash tip my mother had left, which is also captured on camera. When my mother tried to re-enter to address this, they locked the door. Germaine then came outside and said verbatim "You want me to pull it out of my ass"? To a grieving customer whose hair she had just permanently destroyed. The "apology" given was backhanded, given only while handing over a partial refund, with zero acknowledgment of the damage caused. My mother is devastated. She has been crying every day since. She has had to cancel performances and will be losing income while her hair slowly over the course of years  grows back. This is not a bad haircut. This is permanent, irreversible damage caused by negligence, and followed by one of the most hostile, unprofessional responses I have ever witnessed. We are filing a complaint with corporate headquarters and exploring all available options. Do not trust this location with chemically treated hair or frankly, with any service at all.
