CGC Home Services - Water Purification Services Near Me - Howell, Michigan

We've had a CGC water filtration system for severl years. It works great. The service center is easy to deal with. All of the service techs who have come to our home for routine maintenance have been professional and knowledgeable. The CGC systems are comparable to other similar systems. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company. read more

I thought they did a great job until 24 hours later my pipe exploded and there is no actual emergency plumbing service. Everything is via an automated BOT. Very crappy service on their end. read more

Very knowledgeable, very good at sales, does not stand behind there work or product....sold me on filter system that supposedly filters a million gallons of water for over 4k dollars, 10,000 gallons later I'm back to square one, they charged me for the service call and recommended another 4k filter cause the first one is done....but definitely offered a substantial discount to take the old one that " is definitely not worth fixing".... Sorry over 4k this business is just another scam be careful read more

I truly feel scammed. I'm a fairly young bus professional but yet I feel I got completely played. they initially came out and quoted me 5k for a water heater and utility sink install. They completed water heater install (one week after consultation) but couldn't finish sink that day. Said they'd come back next day. I paid the 5k and sat on my back porch with the guy who told me this would include tomorrow's work. next day no one came. company tried pushing us the following week. when I pushed back and said I already paid for services, they sent another tech the following day. Guy said he knew what he was doing, I didn't sit and watch. When he was done he called me in and there was a pump installed. I was surprised, didn't know they were doing that. the he asked me for another 2K. I called the company and said you cannot surprise people with bills after work has been done I DID NOT APPROVE THIS, I WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THIS, NO ONE COMMUNICATED THIS TO ME. They said if I want a refund they have to remove the pump. BASICALLY FORCING YOU INTO PAYINV MORE read more

Great company! Has amazing equipment. No fuss and very efficient. I never have to worry about having hard water. Even if I lose power from a storm, I still have soft water because it's a non- electric system!! read more

Michael Ray was on time, professional, and patient. He took his time explaining the entire process from the water tests, the scores, and his recommendations. He explained the Kinetico system and how it would benefit our home. I would highly recommend him. read more

This company does not stand by the product they say will take the iron out of your home. We started with them in 1999, we did the inside of our home and reverse osmosis. then in 2016 we invested 10k more to take the iron out of our outside water. in 2020 the tanks failed and the in 2021 the company said since these were suppose to last 10 years and we only use them for the summer from middle may thru September so technically the wear on them is about 24 months total over 5 years, The company said they would rebed them for us, we got 4 huge tanks for our water outside that they said would take out the iron we have. After they failed and the new ones got installed in 2021 they did not work, we still had iron. but before I go on the important part is I have a written email that states what we are getting replaced is better then what we had and will last at least 7-10 years. I also was told I could get at least 5k extra if I sold my home since I had invested in their entire system. So since the now new and better tanks have not worked they came out in 22, then in 2023 called and said we still have rust,( we also had to spend time every year getting rit o rust and spraying all around our home and pool, we end up using over 6 jugs at 20.00 each. At the end of 2023 they were out in September after we shut off our water for the summer and Jordan the service guy said if this does not work I dont know what will because they calibrated as much as he could go. I said well we wont know till 2024 when we turn the water on. Come 2024 when I sent pics showing we still have rust, and one tank is leaking they now want a 100.00 service fee to come out. I said I dont feel I have to pay a service fee for a product that never worked correctly from day one that I was told is better than what I had and will last 7-10 years. I tried calling Kinectico corporate and the guy told me our tanks are CGC and have to deal with them. I then did a survey for them explaining this and a man named Thomas called right away to discuss my bad review. He said he would go to bat for me and completely agreed that this is not good service. Well he ended up getting them to come out for no service fee or charge but Jordan said I remember you guys and there is nothing more to do, He did replace the leak he said was at the valve and found another one. I then called Thomas back from CGC who had told me he would talk with Brandon the manager and Jordan to see what they can do for us AND CALL ME BACK AFTER HE SPOKE TO THEM. well, I must have called Thomas 5-6 times and no one called me back, I would leave a message for him, or speak to someone and was told he was busy? I finally called and spoke to Liz who said hold on and then came back to tell me Thomas was busy...hmmm? I said why wont he talk to me, and she was rude in the rest of the conversation to give me any information except we had to talk to Brandon. Well, so much for him to be the middle man to help us, since Brandon was not willing to do anything else. My husband then called Jordan and said we were upset and wanted a meeting with Brandon and Jordan at our home or at their office. Jordan called my husband back and said he was very sorry, and that we are good people but Brandon will not meet with us. So he is not standing by his product that...IS BETTER THAN WHAT WE HAD AND WILL LAST 7-10 YEARS BUT NEVER WORKED FROM DAY 1. I have no problem to pay a service fee if the product had worked for over a year on the warranty and then went bad, but when your product you put in did not perform from day 1, I would think the company is responsible to keep coming out until it is fixed and working as it should. I'm hearing that CGC and Kinectico is not what they use to be. This is very sad to be treated this way since being loyal to them from 1999 when we moved in till now and spending over 16k in their products. We also have had to replace our bladder 2 times and need a new one again, and at the time of the new tanks being put in we spent 6k for a new pump we needed in 2021. I dont think if I was told that every 5-6 years I would need to replace my equipment would I have bought into this at all for the money and it not doing what they claim, and now the way we are being treated after all the years of being a customer. read more

Had them install a water softener as well as a water filter system in 2008. Both systems have been working great since then. The couple of times I've had an issue (usually because of my own stupid mistakes) they have been very responsive and helpful. I've called and stopped in at the store several times. They are always very courteous and helpful. read more

Great product and service. Had plumber to our home and replace outdoor spigots. Convenient, fast scheduling.

This company has such a passion for their customers! We had a great experience from start to finish. They have a very knowledgeable team. They did not try to oversell and explained all our options. The K5 RO drinking water system has made a HUGE difference in the taste of our coffee and the foods we eat. The softened water has improved skin issues in our home and saves soap usage in our dish washing and laundry. I highly recommend using them for all your water needs! read more

The salesman that came out was very enthusiastic. We were pricing between Kinetico and the brand Costco refers. Pricing was in the same ballpark, so we decided to go local with Kinetico. Install took the WHOLE day, but to be fair it was a big job and the installers did a nice job. Salesman was out of town, so I would have thought he would check back in when he returned to see how the install went. I was wrong. No further contact and his voice mail is always full. For a year, the system worked well. At approximately the 14 month mark, I noticed the water pressure decrease and assumed it was just cleaning out the lines. After another 60 days, a toilet wasn't working right- we changed the mechanics inside the tank, but still the water wouldn't shut off. Within a week, all the toilets had that issue. Then the washing machine wouldn't fill with water and we had to replace our steam shower element and the refrigerator ice and water system wasn't working. We called a plumber and paid for him to say he thought it was a pressure issue - maybe with our well since the water softener was so new. We paid for a well person to make an emergency call, as we were having a large Christmas dinner the next day. Well guy said the well was fine, but it looks like our water softener has malfunctioned and sent resin beads throughout our home plumbing system - clogging all water using appliances. He helped us find the bypass valve as none of the paperwork we were given had information about this issue or what to do about it. Called Kinetico the next morning to see if they could save the day. No, they couldn't, but would send someone out in 5 days! Told the service person that I would tip the person cash to make a special trip that day as I didn't want a dinner party with toilets not working right. I left a message for the manager to call me and did so again on the following Monday and Tuesday - no call yet, but I just left another message. Technician came out, didn't have what was needed so it will be another 8 days without a water softener - that is just 17 months old. The kicker is we are billed $175 for this lovely experience! I left another message for the manager to contact me - may he will. I wish I had gone with the Costco water softener. read more

Used this company for a water softener and a rust removal tank. Spent $7000 for everything. Saturday there is a huge pool of water in my basement. I call them. They tell me someone will call me right back. No one did. Call back Sunday. They again tell me someone will call you back. Meanwhile the water is still leaking in my basement. Finally call back AGAIN Sunday cause no one called me back, their response.... "Oh, no one called you back because they are closed on the weekends!" Unbelievable! You spend $7000 and this is the best service that you get?!?! They call me today and tell me they will be out MAYBE Friday. Today is MONDAY. In the meantime, to put my softener of BYPASS. So now all of this crappy water is going to get in my hot water tank, drinking & bathing water etc. great company huh! I want my f'n money back. This company is garbage. You're better off going with a mom & pop location that can come out and fix your issues than this company that takes your hard earned money and promises service and warranties that don't mean anything. read more

We purchased a Kinetico water softener about 9 years ago. While it was pricey, we've been fairly happy with the performance. This is a good thing, because we learned that obtaining needed service from this company is an exercise in extreme frustration. Our softener began to behave strangely -- it would keep regenerating and not turn off. We had to wait 9 days for a service call (schlepping laundry to the laundromat in an attempt to save our washing machine from damage, handwashing all dishes) and then the service representative finally came out. After supposedly repairing the machine, it was still regenerating several hours after the service technician left, despite being told it would only do so for about 40 minutes. We then had to deal with an extremely rude person on the phone while trying to get a technician to come back out. There is no excuse for rudeness to customers, especially when the customer has already been waiting ten days to have an issue resolved. I won't be recommending this product or company to anyone, that's for certain. read more

DO NOT....... do business with this company. Have had problems with our water softener since we started renting the equipment in 2009. Placed many service calls and each time, we were told it was working well. Called to return equipment, company charge $90 for pick up of rented water softener and charge the remaining 4 months of 36 months supposed agreement. ( we were unaware of a time frame for rental on equipment). Very rude and unprofessional customer service personnal. A lesson learned. Please read the fine print and save yourself the headache. Hope this review was helpful. 0 STARS read more

I purchased a water system from Kinetico in 2012, it was a very good system and worked great, but due to the high iron content in my water, it just couldn't keep up. Kinetico (Clearwater Systems) totally stood behind their product, they replaced it with a filter which could tackle the problem effectively. They were wonderful, professional and made sure I was happy. I can't say enough nice things about this company and their people, especially Tim who was such an angel! I am a customer for life and highly recommend them and their units to all the public. It was such a pleasure working with people who stand firmly behind their company and work to meet the customers needs in water filtration. read more
