I had my gel manicure and pedicure done, the gel after a week chipped so I came back to show them ......not only I was treated like a criminal the lady manager kept ignoring me and taking the customers who walk in or calling in before she addresses my issue.....she kept saying after all this is done! After waiting over 30 minutes she told me she can't find me in her system, she will talk to the owner and for me to come back!!!!! I usually go to cest Lamour nail salon on golden valley. I needed an appointment, and this location had availability Friday at 6pm. When I got there I was not greeted, and then waited a good 25 minutes for a powder dip. Ivy did my nails in about 20 minutes and by Saturday evening one nail was completely lifted. Additionally, ivy cut my finger pretty bad and I was bleeding. I came back today and explained my situation and Ivy fixed my nail but wanted to charge me 5 dollars for the fix. Usually, powder dip lasts a good 3 weeks for me without problems. This manicure will last me 1 week if I'm lucky. Several other of my nails are already lifting. Ivy did a very poor job and this location has evening availability because they triple book customers. Also, ivy used a dirty towel on me with clippings of another customers nails. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I cam into town for the night and wanted to catch up with a good friend of mine. She made us appointments and we walked right in. Great start. She and I are chatting, when I realize the lady that is giving me a manicure, just cut off all of my nails on my left hand. I'm getting married in two weeks. She didn't ask, she just did it. She just nervous laughed and said that she was sorry. Sorry doesn't grow my nails back. The lady that was doing my pedicure, suggested I get fake nails. I want to fake nails, I would've asked for them. I didn't want that. I asked them if they had any type of nail polish that space that they could put on that strengthens and hops grown else. They looked at me as though I was crazy had no clue what I was talking about. After I left, and call my fiancé, he told me that they completely set me up to get fake nails which makes total sense. I don't live in Santa Clarita anymore, and rarely come up here, but when I do this place and will absolutely never be on my list to go back to. It's been 4 days since I've done a gel mani and all of the gel has been peeling since day 2. As she was doing my nails I knew that they were going to peel because she was polishing on my skin. Then to top it all of the nail tech "j" filed my nails once she was done with drying the gel... I mean why would u file the corners of my nails once your done polishing.. I was so irritated the gel was stuck on my skin. So today I go in and ask how we can solve this issue and honestly nothing was done besides a we'll call you back. They want to do too much but cannot seem to have a realistic time frame when it comes to fitting you in. Their system is also quite unfair. I went in this morning before they opened. Was first one in. I understand I didnt have an appt. but neither did the friends who accompanied the ones with appointments. The receptionist was accommodating them right in front of me, even though again, I arrived first. Once I stood up and asked how much longer it would be, the receptionist then changed the story from her original 7 minutes to now 45 minutes. Unforgivable. I even received the automatic check in text that had me checked in at 10 am but now it would be by 11. Really? I do like their pedicure treatments but I am taking my business elsewhere. Absolutely the WORST nail salon I've ever been too! I got a pedicure which was $47 and my nail lady Joanne cut open my big toe so deep it instantly starting dripping out blood. She then continued to keep digging into my toe nail!! I had to scream at her to stop immediately because my toe was throbbing in pain and dripping blood down my foot. She then put some "green/blue glue" on my toe to stop the bleeding. She did not apologize and/or comp my pedicure. It has been 24 hours later and I can't put any pressure on my left foot and it is so swollen I have to wear sandals. The people here do an amazing job but don't bother making a reservation, they don't always honor your reservation and actually "reserve" a spot for you. Whenever I have used anyone else it has still been a pleasant visit but I have just used Peter for over 6 years and he already knows the shape I want and the colors I prefer. I went to their new location on Golden Valley. It was super nice, everything was upgraded and the place was super clean. The service was great and everyone was super nice. The receptionist kept walking around asking everyone how they were doing and if they needed anything. I got a gel pedicure and gel manicure, they came out excellent and I left happy. I got the gel manicure because I figured they would last longer and not chip as easy. However, not even a week later they were already chipping and lifting. While the service was excellent it is not worth the price for it to last not even a week. read more

When I first found C'est L'amour Nails after moving to the area I thought I would never have to look for another nail salon again. My first few experiences were great but began to go downhill. Randy, who did my acrylics, ignored my request to have a longer section of a white tip (due to my short natural nails) leaving me with a thin white band for a tip and a pink section which you could see through. I paid $40+ for a full set which looked like I let them grow out for months and kept clipping back the white. I went back a second time after this, fully explaining my dismay at the last appointment, yet Randy again ignored my requests and did what he felt looked best. That was the last straw. Also Tiffany, who did my waxing, did a great job but would CONSTANTLY gossip about other techs and management/ownership, whispering loudly in my ear. I'm sorry, but the last thing I want to hear about during "me" time is office politics...I get plenty of that at my own work. After my last appointment I spoke with the manager Ivan about my issues, and while he apologized told me I should come back again and they'll take care of it. I appreciate the offer, but I felt I should have least been offered some discount while I was THERE. Salon-wise it is fantastic...tastefully decorated with comfy pedicure chairs, and the constant stream of the cooking channel is awesome. However I'll gladly give that up for a place that actually listens to what I like and who doesn't gossip my ear off. read more

Very disappointed with this place. Second time here, 1st visit was great and it is why I decided to go again. I never get gel on my toes but I decided to do it this time because I was going on vacation. Twice I was asked if I was sure about the gel on my toes do to the fact that it's pricy! I said yes please. I spent 80$ plus tips totals of 90$ basically 100$ !!!!!! For this, so that 4 days later the gel starts to lift. It was just my second day on my trip when this happened. Just like all the other reviewers this place clearly has a scheduling problem. The lady in the front constantly double books and tries to squeeze out the maximum clients per day as possible. I always book in advance with James, this is the fourth time I have to wait over 30 minutes to be seated. James is great but because of the lady in the front he is loosing a lot of customers. After the first time she did this to me I let her know I always leave work for my appointment and for her to make sure she doesn't double book. Second time it happened again, third time again, and the last straw was today. Appointment was at 2:00, got there exactly at 2:00, I notice James just started full set acrylic on a customer, he has prepping her nails at that point, so I'd say over 40 minutes wait. I turn to the lady in the front and ask her what time my appointment was, she looks at the clock and says 2:30, I show her my text confirmation and she has the nerve to tell me, no it's at 2:30 because she clearly knows what she did. I told her that it's not okey for her to keep doing this to customers. I understand 5-10 minute wait but double booking customers will not enhance your business, yet you loose customers. Terrible. I am not one to write bad reviews, but I would like to warn people to not get powder gels here. I was in from out of town, and needed a manicure. I called and was told this place did powder gels. Instead of soaking them off, she yanked them off of my real nails, which was not only painful but took off the top layer of my nail. She then used a power tool to file them, making me bleed several times. Not to mention the actual nails were awful. She did not even file after all the layers, and she baked a gel polish on top. 4 of them literally fell off within 3 days. If you want gel polish DO NOT COME HERE. read more

Okay straight up Ivan is a total jerk, rude, self absorbed and a little crazy. i found that the reason why some of the technicians are so bad is because Ivan does not encourage them to learn English! Check it out they cannot talk to and they have been there for years. Eventhough I had a good experience with the employees I left because of Ivan the Terrible! I asked him to help me find a polish and he told me to look for it myself! What a charmer! So I split and shutter everytime I have to pass that salon. I had a gel removal and manicure by Lisa. She was a lovely gal but as you can see by my pictures (uploaded), she has a very rough hand. All but two cuticle beds were left with cuts from her aggressive cuticle clean. I had to ask her three times to be more gentle but it didn't quite sink in. For $20 it got the job done but it definitely wasn't enjoyable. read more

Highly disappointed, never going back. I had then apply a fresh French gel manicure and I went here based on fabulous Yelp reviews.... My pedicure as the regular spa kind. My manicure was chipped and gross after 6 days as it would've been with regular nail polish. Half of the other nails were lifting polish. To make manners worse, I was getting engaged and my ring finger hand had a chipped nail! :-( I went to a random spot and had them redone and they've been flawless thus far. They get 2 stars because the pedi is still decent and they did offer to touch up the gel for free, sadly they just suck at it. read more

I've been going to C'est Lamour for over 4 years... straight... thats a lot of money over the years when you include pedicures as well. The last visit - I brought my 8 year old... I called first... confirmed that the price for a childs mani/pedi but when we were done... it was far more. When I asked him (I know the manager by name) why.. he said because she got zebra strips painted on. First - by my asking, he knew what I was expecting to pay... if it were to go MORE... you'd think SOMEONE would have thought to have the sense to ASK the 8 year olds mother... nope. I challenged him on this - he stood is ground and said I SHOULD have known ... which is amusing... because for four years, all I ever get it the pink/white fill and expensive pedicure... I've never had stripes... and... I wont there again. I told him I was going to find another place that was upfront with me... he shrugged. Oh well... I was excited to get my nails done here since I had heard really good things about it. I had an appointment for a manicure and was not seen until a half hour later. Rushed would be a huge understatement. This manicure was supposed to be a half hour but it lasted less than ten minutes, she only gave me one coat of nail polish, and didn't soak my nails or massage at all. I called yesterday to make an appointment specifically with James and I was told to come in at 1:30 pm. As soon as I walk in there was no one at the front desk to help me and I noticed James assisting and barely starting a full set on another client. I was waiting until around 1:40 pm when the older woman receptionist asks me what I need help with. I told her I am waiting to be seated with James for my appointment and she starts mumbling things to James and he tells her "it will take 30 more minutes and to sit and wait." When I told the woman that treating one of his most devoted and regular customers in this way was rude, she responded, "That's too bad, there is nothing I can do, he is behind and he doesn't want to do service on you now since you seem upset and now you made him upset." As she flipped the blame on me, I then continued to politely convey my concerns and let them know that this is not the first time they have treated me unfairly; rather, it is the second instance. I let them know that they need to respect their customer's time and call them beforehand if they are running behind. The receptionist then started talking back to me and wouldn't even let me speak. The second time, I decided not to let it go and left the store. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO COME IF YOU WANT SPEEDY PROFESSIONAL SERVICE. Very aggressive and disrespectful behavior. read more

I keep coming back to this place...because they do a consistantly good job on my gel manicures...but i will never go back after my experience today. First of all the guy that runs the shop (receptionist, whatever) is SO rude! He is short with every person that walks into the shop, and has zero hospitality. Secondly, the woman doing my manicure cut my finger, pulled the wrong color... And when I told her, she couldn't even understand what I was saying...she just smiled and continued to do 4 more coats...which made it a 2 hour manicure...seriously? No wonder they are always so busy! Their technicians are so slow! Lastly half way through my manicure...the recieptionist sprayed Axe body spray all over the salon...which totally made the whole place (and me) smell of cheap men's cologne. gross. I had to wait 25 minutes even though I had an appointment. I was also overcharged for a normal spa pedicure. I like the layout of the salon and would try them again. I've been coming here on and off for a few years now, and despite being more expensive than most other salons in the SCV, they did a good job. I was pretty disappointed, however, with their customer service most of the time, and after today I won't be back. My mother and I made an appointment for 12:45pm, (originally 12:15 but they said to come at 12:45pm to be safe) so we shopped at sprouts and hung out until 12:45. We came into the salon to a lackluster welcome and were totally ignored after we told them about our appt. she just told us to pick out our colors and vanished. every single nail technician was in the middle of a service, and it was clear no one cared we had made an appointment, they just took walk ins as usual. After 15-20min of waiting and no employee in sight, we left and went to Persimmon in the mall, which took us right away and had great service. Wish to god I could give zero stars. I never ever ramble on and on complaining. But I'm going to this time, cause my experience here was beyond horrible. First off with med school and working full time I never ever have time to pamper myself. My boyfriend gave me a $60 dollar gift card for valentines day. So today I decided to come. Let's start with the 22 dollar pedicure that took her 7 mins to do. No massage no scrubbing the feet NOTHING. she just cut my toe nails then painted on the polish. To me that's not worth 22 dollars but okay? She was just so focused on her boss telling her to hurry for the next customer. Not cool and not professional. Now on to my nails. I asked him for a full set solid color with gel on top he said they don't do that? What looked to be the owner walked up and said I needed to decide what I wanted fast or she was going to tell him to move on to a different customer. Rude is an understatement. So I said ok I'll settle with a French manicure. The shapes are all different. They don't care about the work they do, they're too worried about getting you in and out for the money. Last but definitely not least. I walked up to hand her the tickets with my prices on them. And my 60 dollar certificate. Nails were $37 toes were $22. You can do the math but that's 59. She tells me ok your at 60 even. I just laughed cause that's totally unprofessional and wrong to lie about the total. I still tipped. But I will never be coming back. Nail places can be hit or miss on any given day. I've been here several times and had great experiences but the last two times not so much. Last time (3 weeks ago) I didn't get the lotion massage with my pedicure. Fine I let it go. This time my appoint was at 4:15 I was rushed to sit and my feet sat in water for 20 minutes before anyone came. The water wasn't even hot! Then I had gel polish from the last time (other places take it off with acetone) but the lady for our a sander and started sanding my nail polish off. She went s little deep on my big toe and even when I said ouch twice she didn't stop. The lotion massage I got but it lasted two minutes. The polish isn't even covering half of my little toenail! This was the last time I will step foot in here. Again it's hit or miss- either you'll be a happy customer or you won't. read more

My SIL treated me to a mani and pedi for my bday. I ended up getting a gel set. I've gotten gels before at another salon that lasted only about four days. The gels I got at Cest Lamour has lasted two weeks so far and have not even begun to lift. I'm really hard on my hands. I do my own yard work. I'm amazed my nails still look this good. I went in for a walk-in appointment and was seated right away. I asked for a basic pedi and was prepared for a little sales pitch but I wasn't prepared for how pushy and aggressive this woman was. She took every opportunity to point out how badly I needed my callouses removed and a paraffin treatment and she grew more and more annoyed each time I turned her down. It was tense! I couldn't wait to get out and I won't be back (which probably won't be until next year!). I'm so disappointed because as a mom, I rarely get to treat myself. Ok so this was my second time getting a pedicure with my fiancé. I have to admit, I was pleased with the service. I got the Bella pedicure. The lady that tended to me was very nice and humble. That's what I liked about this place. The ppl were very friendly and most of all humbled. They really work hard to make sure you get the best experience in their establishment. At the end of my session, my feet were left feeling soft and revived. The best part was the massage for me. That did wonders for my legs and feet. Overall experience was great! I would recommend this place to my guy friends. I see nothing wrong getting your feet done. It's the same as getting a back massage. You're just taking care of your body as I see it. read more
