God forbid you don't have any incident in your home where an adjuster has to come assess damage. God help you if Certuse Adjustment is the company being used by your insurance company. They are unresponsive, unconcerned, and not helpful. My kitchen had damage from rain in March, and I called my insurance company to alert them. They gave me Certuse's number, and it took a week for an adjuster to come out to survey the damage. Fine...people are busy... Then he asked me to fax him papers containing condo certification of insurance, which I did. Two weeks went by and I heard nothing. I finally called in April and was told he never received the forms and could I fax them again? I did. Another week went by and I heard nothing, so I called. "Oh," the adjuster said, "You were missing the page I needed. Could you fax it again?" "Sure," I said, and did so. After yet another week (now it was May), I called and was told that my adjuster was out of the office and would call me back. I explained what had already occurred and that I would like another adjuster to be assigned to my case, and was told they couldn't do that but that my adjuster would call me that day. Two days later he called...and said he never received the fax and could I send it again? Suffice to say, we have been playing "tag" for months, and I want other people to avoid having to deal with this family-owned, shoddy company. DON'T use them. If I could have scored no stars at all, I would have. Maybe I'll rethink it when my kitchen ceiling doesn't have a gaping hole in it. read more

I am currently wrapping up my 7th property damage claim with Merrimack Mutual Insurance. In ALL cases Certuse Adjustment Inc of Mansfield Massachusetts has handled the claims. In all cases they have responded in a speedy and professional manner. Many of the claims have been complicated especially the last one which was a fire, and their knowledge and professionalism took a load off my shoulders. This process can be very stressful for a property owner and Certuse made this unfortunate situation go as smooth as it possibly could. unfortunate incident, my condo got flooded by people working upstairs. Nothing to do with me. 2 homeowners, 1 condo assn, 5 adjusters. Everyone very kind and professional. Except Certuse Adjustment. I purchased a lot of insurance b/c I have nice things, that's the logic right? I was grilled by Certuse--that's the only way to describe it--he would ask questions and not listen to the responses. After this upsetting conversation, I thought yeeks I need a lawyer. After much thought as to WHICH lawyer to use, not the question of using one, I decided to call my insurance company and complain. I'm their customer, right. I pay them and said if they wanted to keep my business they would reassign me. I shouldn't need to pay thousands to a lawyer for what is mine rightfully. They took my case in-house, instead of using Certuse. They were telling me about the amount of coverage I had, not asking me to produce bills under duress when I was not yet even back into my condo and dealing with repairs and mess, etc. FIRE Certuse if you've got an opportunity. They need to loose business to wise up that they are dealing with human beings, not making a profit on the percentage they save insurance companies.
