Mr. Hoffman is an exceptional educator for the consumer to understand what they really need to know before buying a new vacuum. I've purchased bags and a couple of belts from this shop for 29 years, until my Eureka finally was "done". Learning how many makes/models now use circuit boards (unable to be repaired when they no longer function), I chose an upright Hoover Wind Tunnel, 12 amps with all onboard tools needed for my cleaning purposes. Similar in size and power to my previous Eureka, this model is a bit lighter and will be another workhorse to last for hardwood and carpeted floors (with dog hair!) for the next 29 years.
Sure, you can go to a nationwide store, look at the display far above eye level, and maybe even feel the vacuum movement ... if you can get it down to the floor, find a plug and test it. Every store I sourced was the same "buy it and try it, if you don't like it you can bring it back". Great return policy, yet I don't want to waste my time with yet another trip, and to be in need of another purchase.
Exceedingly reputable, pleasant, professional and thorough - Mr. Hoffman demonstrated what it means to shop local. He had me test the vacuums. Once I made my selection, he assembled the vacuum, carried it to my car and even offered to trade the unopened Eureka vacuum cleaner bag packages (and spare belt) for an extra set that fits the new Hoover.
So glad I didn't buy one of the more toy-like feeling vacuums that are prolific in today's market. For far more money, other brands didn't have the same construction quality. One canister bagless brand even had conflicting marketing content - Hepa filters are not needed as they don't filter and we have Hepa filters to keep your house cleaner.
Just took the first "spin" on the carpet and saw the power of this Hoover Wind Tunnel take on what has patiently waited on the carpet since my Eureka died over a week ago. It's a keeper! read more
