As a former New Yorker, I have... trust issues when it comes to mechanics…read more I can happily say Pinehawk is a great shop. I've relied on them 7 years without complaint. Quality work, thorough, quick, honest: that's not how I'm used to describing mechanics. Pricing is competitive for the region. They price parts & estimate labor for you beforehand, so you can get a second opinion or check prices elsewhere. Not once have they charged me more for parts than what I could find online. They offer refurbished or salvaged parts (if they can find them available) and they'll also use parts you bring in yourself. If, like me, you can't always afford all your repairs, they'll tell you what needs fixing immediately, what can wait, and what's optional. They're always up-to-date with TSB's. One time, my dead battery had, unbeknownst to me, actually been recalled. They got a free replacement from the manufacturer - and didn't even charge for the installation. Side note: They have a massive lot! I've never been charged for picking my car up a few days late. Finally, customer service is much better since Jamie started working the front desk. I do miss Ed though, the old guy who ran the place, but I think his son took over, so I'm not too worried about it going downhill.

I moved to Turnersville four years ago from Pittsburgh, I had the same mechanic back there since I…read morewas 21. Pete performed a miracle on the 2015 Camry on two occasions extending its life well past 200K miles. I could not be more grateful for these gentlemen. I'm getting new rear bearings and brakes and rotors today.

Pete's rebuilt the E4OD transmission of my Ford pickup two years ago. At the time, it had about…read more160,000 miles and had been well cared-for, but was giving me trouble - not shifting properly, sporadic hard-upshifts, stalling the engine when Reverse was selected. This had been happening off & on for several years. Pete's initial diagnosis was "new pump and torque converter", but went on to recommend a full rebuild. I'm not sure what else that entailed (new solenoids, valve body, seals?) as it wasn't really explained, but I gave them permission to perform the extra work since the transmission would need to be removed in either case. The work was finished later than they anticipated - by several days, actually -but this wasn't a problem for me since I had alternate transportation. I've only driven about 1,500 miles since then, but the transmission has been nearly flawless. All of the forementioned problems were resolved by the full rebuild except for the sporadic hard up-shifts. Since I don't drive the truck very often, I called Pete's when it happened again. They didn't seem that concerned and suggested I bring it back for further diagnosis, without offering a reason what might be causing it. I've since learned that this symptom could be an issue with the PSOM in the dashboard, according to Ford owner websites on the internet. Restarting the engine clears the problem for the time being. Overall, I would give Pete's a 4.5 out of 5 stars. I've found them to be very approachable, have been in business a long time, and most importantly - they do very good work. All I would suggest is that you build-in some extra time in your schedule for them to finish.

I had a car that had been sitting for 2 years and had multiple issues going on. He accepted the job without hesitation. He took his time and made up a list of what was wrong. There were other things that I had questions about, and he said they looked good and did not try to write up a bill just to make money. He was able to fix the car and it is running great now and it is a very reliable car. I would highly recommend Anthony to anyone looking for a mechanic. He takes credit cards too.
