They came a did deck. I didn't know it was supposed to peel? Peeled right away.They didnt come close to the color we picked. No where near the shade guide Then when painting the garage door the color doen't match anything. They never came back to check and they never came back to place the heavy deck furniture back. Thay threw some paint wash and left. No follow up. No care or pride in workmanship. I have used them in the past. Its been about nine years back, but they were good then so we thought we would hire them again. Bad idea! The whole thing needs to be redone and I have no confidence and trusting them to do it right. Certa Pro Painting is officially the 2nd worst company I have EVER worked with. The crew they sent out decided it was ok to pee in my shower since the 2 toilets were already wrapped in plastic. I AM NOT EVEN KIDDING. Alfredo and his crew (all family) came out to start painting my entire upstairs from top to bottom. They failed to make repairs on my windowsills after I specifically asked for them to be fixed. They just painted over the chips and cracks. You can still clearly see the cracks, not one drop of caulking was used on the windows or anywhere, which was really needed in sections. Paint drips on my baseboards, walls and carpet. They used masking tape to tape off door handles before painting, which did not keep the paint from running behind the handle. 5 door handles/hinges have paint runs. (they refused to paint the top of the door and frame) After 2 days masking is very difficult to remove. Nail pops and countless other errors were missed even after multiple inspections. Zero prep sanding. Zero prepped at all was done including removing shelfing in closest which is now about 25% painted. Drop cloths and plastic were tapped to the lower half of the baseboards, with MASKING tape which came off within a few hours. The baseboards and carpet then had no protection from paint drips and splatter. Bathroom faucets were painted; curtain hardware was painted due to nothing being tapped off. Nothing was ever tapped off. If they did see they made a mistake and painted something like the hardware, they wiped it with their finger, no wet rag or anything was used. They even painted cabinets that were actually covered with plastic, how? There are countless other errors: The workers never used tape when painting most mounted items; they just tried to free-hand to cut around doors, fans and smoke detectors. They were not that good. The first crew even told me they would not remove my bathroom mirrors to paint behind them. I had to remove them myself. Now I am left cleaning up all the paint over runs, because they failed proper prep. Honestly, I think they were a crew who expected just to come in, paint, and collect money. They had zero interest in doing it correctly. I ended up firing this crew after 8 hours for all the errors and peeing in my shower. I had the supervisor of the crew come out, inspect the damage before we cleaned the pee and it smelled bad. It took a full day before they finally found a replacement crew, who came out for less than 30 min and then left. His wife was involved in a car wreck but was told she was ok, but he had to go help her, which was fine, we understood. But instead of coming back in a couple of hours, he said he would not be back that day and was not sure if he would come back the next day. We took off 4 days of vacation for this project that was scheduled 1 month in advance. So, I had to find another painting company to come out and basically start over. The first company I quoted, came back with an even better price to do the project for almost $500 less. BONUS. But the new company will have their work cut out for them fixing all the mistakes Certa Pro Painting caused. They failed the contract multiple times. They could not provide the service promised. The GM agreed to cancel the contract because of all the problems we experienced. The GM said we could call it a wash. I feel this would not have mattered because if they even attempted to collect, I would counter sue for creating a biohazard situation by peeing in my shower and failing to complete the contract. The GM even asked me to be respectful when leaving a negative review (he knew it would happen). They had a 3rd crew come out at the end of the 3rd day complete clean up. So basically, if you want a painting sub-contractor to come out and pee in your shower and do a half a** job, call Cert Pro (they are all sub-contractors). But I would highly suggest finding another company. Lastly, the GM was supposed to send me a follow-up email stating they would cancel the contract and call it a wash; I have yet to see that email. read more

I have tried repeatedly to unsubscribe to their spam emails. Colton Priser, VP of commercial sales, has no business ethics and continues to spam after repeated attempts to be left alone. If a company does shady things like this before a sale I'd hate to see what they do after. No wonder the poor rating. My next step will be contacting Certapro themselves and show them what the Indianapolis franchise is doing. read more

We reached out to CertaPro to stain our fence. From start to finish the process was easy and the job was done above expectation. My sales rep was very knowledgeable and walked me through all of my options, even offering recommendations. I asked for additional pictures and he went out of his way to show me different paint colors on the type of wood we had. Best part...he wasn't a pushy sales guy. He gave me what I needed to know and then gave me the space to make the decision on my time. Once I signed the contract, it took no time to be put on the schedule. The team that came out to stain our fence were very professional and I felt like they took care of my fence as if it were their own. They would come and get me to show me their progress and you could just tell that they take great pride in their work! We were ready to sign with CertaPro until suddenly the sales representative emailed us telling us it would be an additional $3,000 for them to use a primer to cover the exterior blue trim. We had been talking with them for months about our project and our colors, so this extra fee came as a surprise. We called our sales rep, and he was very rude. He told us we could opt to not use primer but would be our cost to 'fix it' and it would not be covered under their warranty. Additionally, he told us we were welcome to go get other quotes elsewhere - so that's what we did, and now we are going elsewhere. read more

**Update** The Project Lead, Tanner, reached out to me. Within 24 hours, the room was repainted and looks as good as the other walls painting in the project. I love the paint job that now matches the other rooms that were painted. Tanner was polite, professional and got the job done. Sun par at best. Frankly I don't have time to do the supervisors job at Certa Pro! Third time was ncharm this company painted my condo complex and it's already peeling . They painted n the rain the painted over rotten wood, they left a mess it's been a couple weeks still finding empty pint cans n shrubs. Not a very impressive job. And when they did an inspection they walked around the building I'm on second floor w a deck and no one ever came up to check the work during the whole process. read more

Our Tudor Style home was in need of a fresh up outside. Our house had been painted around 8 or 9 years ago. I went and got 3 estimates and certapro came in as the best. After getting scheduled our house got power washed. Actually looked much better after that. Day to paint a van pulls up in the drive not labeled as Certapro, guys get out and no one is in the white certapro shirt. The foreman did put on an orange shirt over his blue shirt. I talked to the foreman so everyone was on the same page. And they got started. Windows were taped off walls scraped down, cracks filled in and some small wood repairs were done. They worked pretty much a full 11 hours the first day. I was a bit unhappy they stored their paint, ladders, paint sprayers and tools in the back yard. We have two small dogs and I was afraid they might get into something. So we kept an eye in them over night and into the morning. Another thing that set off my OCD...they didn't pull off all the tape and get rid of all the paper and trash when they left the first night. Or put my flower pots back in place. Next day they arrive at 830am and get to work. We had things we had to do so we left for about 6 hours. When we got home they were cleaning up and waiting on the foreman. We walked around the house and Signed off on the work. I do wish they seemed more professional wearing the uniform you see in in the ads and commercials. I wish they had worked neater, buy they did clean everything up in the end and the looked great. I would recommend them. read more

Extremely knowledgeable, upfront with cost and scope of work, and made every effort to make us feel comfortable with the process. The crew that took on our large job was outstanding. They were quick, did an outstanding job of cleaning up the work site each night, and very thorough. We always new the timeline, what to expect next, and discussed the project each day with the team lead so they could be sure we were happy with the progress. In the end the new paint on the exterior of our house turned out better then we could have imagined. CertaPro painted my entire downstairs in one afternoon. These guys showed up on time, were fast and professional, and I was just amazed at how quickly they got the job done. For three mid-sized rooms (a kitchen, front room and living room), it cost me a little more than $800. My only disappointment was looking around afterward, more closely, after they left -- paint on my door, a couple lightswitches, etc. Just make sure when you do your walk-through that you take time to really check. You can get really overwhelmed (in a good way!) by how awesome a new coat of paint looks and as a result overlook some little things they would have fixed for you before they left. Now we have to do that cleanup, which is no fun considering what you pay for their service. read more

Efficiency is one thing you definitely want in a process like this and Jason and Trenton were very much on point with communication, guiding and walking through the process. Our house had bright colors in the living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, upstairs landing, and all the connecting halls, all of which I wanted repainted in a neutral color plus one accent wall. We asked to have some water damage on the ceilings repaired and then painted, too. The representative from CertaPro assured me that the paint they used would cover adequately in two coats. The contract included a price for painting the walls and ceilings ($2226); an estimated total for wall repair, ceiling repair, and 3rd coat of paint ($45 per man per hour, estimated total of $674); other services we decided against (baseboards and door frames); a free paint upgrade; and an Angie's List discount ($359). He said the work would take 3 or 4 days total and asked if there was a room we'd like completed first (yes, the kitchen). The painting crew came on the scheduled day and time. There were 3 or 4 guys, including the foreman (or supervisor or lead or whatever), I don't remember his name. I was here when they arrived to discuss the job and then I left for the day. The first day I arrived home around 4 PM to find so much more done than I expected; the crew had already finished for the day. The second day I talked to the foreman in the morning about little things here and there I wanted them to fix and he was very receptive. I asked him to patch a hole in a room that wasn't being painted and gave the go ahead for a third coat on the accent wall; I assumed I would be charged the per-hour rate for those things like the contract specified. The foreman told me the job was complete around 2 PM on the second day and we took a walk around to check out the work. I gave the OK but the paint hadn't dried yet. I was very surprised that the work took half the time expected. At the conclusion of the work, I expected to pay the discounted amount for the painting ($1866.60) plus a per-hour rate the extra services. The foreman told me I owed $2610.08. As best as I could tell from talking to him, there had been no tracking of the time for patching and extra painting, so I have no idea how that total was reached. He told me the office told him that was what I owed on the contract. I paid it, thinking it must be what the estimate was, but later realized the estimate was for $2540.60. I noticed some issues over the following few weeks and called CertaPro about them. An area that was patched while the rest of the walls were being painted and therefore painted later, separately, was obviously a different finish than the rest of the wall. Several spots on the ceilings in multiple areas were missed. And roller marks were obvious on the accent wall. CertaPro sent a representative out pretty quickly, who checked out my complaints and scheduled follow-up work with another crew. The two-man crew that came out to fix the issues was very good. They went beyond quick fixes to do a thorough job, even noticing other gaps that I missed and fixing those. I would've liked Marcos to have been the foreman for the original work. In addition to some inconsistencies in the paint job, the original crew left paint in places where it shouldn't be: brush strokes on the range hood and droplets on the counter tops & front patio. They damaged the connector for our sectional sofa when they moved it, which means the two pieces no longer lock together. I didn't bother telling CertaPro about these because I didn't think it would matter, although I did factor them in when I gave the ratings here. Overall I have mixed feelings about CertaPro. I chose them instead of an individual provider because I thought I'd have a more professional experience and, in some ways, I did. The crew(s) arrived when expected and worked quickly. The company was clear and copious in its communication. They stood behind the work and addressed any concerns immediately. The paint upgrade and Angie's List discount were nice perks. But I wanted it to be done well the first time, and I would've liked an invoice or something to explain why I paid what I did. The work wasn't cheap and I don't think I should have to follow up to have it done right. I'm not sure I would choose them next time I need painting done. read more

We were excited about Certa Pro completing our exterior paint project, I had a friend who loved the interior work they had done for her. My husband was grateful for the help from Ryan the sales rep. and felt like this was the right fit for us after receiving previous quotes. However, I am not impressed with what they considered a completed project. I know Certa Pro was pressed with time due to all the rain during the summer season but I feel like their work suffered from it. The crew that came out mentioned trying to complete the project in 2 or 3 days, which with the man power that was assigned to the project seemed extremely far fetched! The joints for the siding were caulked sloppy and then painted over, so you can see every joint on all sides of the house. Holes were nailed into my roof to allow for footing and then the crew never filled the holes on completion. We used the same paint color so some places of trim were not even repainted, I am sure that may have just been an overlook at the time but obviously noticeable to us. The white trim paint was spilled on our black roof and can be seen when driving up to the house, the crew never mentioned this had happened. My husband noticed the spilled paint when he was on the roof filling the nail holes made in the roof by the painters. There was also spilled and overspray paint on my chimney brick :( Also we were told that the crew would be working between 9-5 and if they needed to come earlier or stay later they would arrange it with us. The crew usually came at 10 and left around 7pm every night. This was never communicated or arranged with me or my husband. Again I get the time constraints/weather and have no issues with them staying late especially if it means they are taking their time to make my house look beautiful but no communication happened even though it is their stated practice. There are other areas needing touch ups and my front door needs a second coat, I am hoping that with be remedied in the next couple weeks when Certa Pro returns- fingers crossed. read more

I did some new wood work in our master bedroom and needed it to be painted. I'm skilled enough to do the wood work but not patient enough to do the painting. Therefore, I called the pro's in from certapro to finish the job. They were there on time in the morning and began working hard. My wife decided that she wanted a bit more of a custom job done in the bathroom and it took them until 7:15 PM before they were done. The men were very kind and courteous and did an outstanding job. My experience with this Certapro was awful. No show on the first day due to a typo??? An hour late the second day, then they left for 90 minutes to "get paint", then they left for two hours for "lunch". The workmanship was awful once they finally started. Didn't repair any nail holes before starting painting. Needless to say I called and told them not to come back the next day and had to hire a different painter. read more

We hired CertaPro to paint the interior of our house. Before starting anything a "color consultant" came out and provided recommendations for paint colors based upon how the sunlight enters into the house. AMAZING!!!! We ended up changing 5 of the 6 shades of paint. As far as the painting process goes, the painters were timely, covered all the furniture, and did an excellent job. We recently had CertaPro paint our kitchen, dining room, living room, bedrooms, and a bathroom (most of the house!). The team (Jose and Marcos) were professional, thorough, worked efficiently, and we are very happy with the results. They did a third coat on an accent wall without charging us extra, they patched and repaired multiple walls well, and they made sure we carefully inspected everything before they left and that we were happy with the results. They finished the job in the quoted 3 days and at the estimated cost (pricing seemed very reasonable to me). I had Certapro paint my family room/ kitchen area. They did not complete the job correctly. They left speakers on the wall , which were to be taken down ,, covered the area under my desk where my cords come out of the wall to connect to my computer, didn't paint apart of the wall above the desk , dumped paint in my sink and left painting tape still on my walls. After a month of calls to the manager we gave up. 2 years later we decided to give them another chance. We asked for an estimate for a large portion of our house. I also explained that we needed the prior work to be corrected. When I received the new estimate I was again being charged for the previous work. So not only did they not apologize for a job not well done, they said here let me screw you over by charging you again for work we never performed. When I contacted them I received a nasty email informing me that I would in fact be charged , but of course I had already informed them I would never work with that kind of business again read more

I requested an estimate. When Colton Priser arrived after he gave me the estimate, just under $4,000. It included painting as well as patching a few splits and specifically where my puppy had chewed the corner of the cabinet. He said they would patch and paint over with a thick concealing paint that would fill the cracks and blemishes. Not true. Aside from a little concealment the cracks are still present and they never patched the dog chew mark. I asked how long would there be a paint smell. He said, 'two days'. It has been two weeks and the entire house smells. The upstairs bedrooms are so bad I had to close the doors, open the windows, turn the ceiling fans on, AND put towels under the doors to keep the smell out so my family could sleep without breathing in paint fumes. I have as many windows open without freezing everyone out, the furnace is running constantly and the house still SMELLS TWO WEEKS LATER!!! Called the Certa Pro 800 number and told the rep I needed to speak with a manager he connected me with Paulina who asked how she could help me. I explained the entire story how the primer paint can was totally painted over so I couldn't see what kind of description was on it, and asked her if it was normal for it to stink two weeks later after I was told that it wouldn't stink after two days and she said she had no idea that I should talk to Colton Priser!!! I said well you're the manager why can't you help me and she said she wasn't the manager!! I asked her three times 'then if you're not the manager who are you?' And she didn't answer and tried to divert me to Calling Colton Priser. I asked, 'but wait I thought you were the manager, who are you then', again no answer. The third time, 'wait, I asked to speak to a manager, she finally said 'I'm not a manager' to which I replied, then who are you then, what do you do? She finally said, I'm the receptionist. All this time she presented herself as a manager and she was not. Horrible. She said to contact Colton directly and patched me through, He did not answer so I left a voicemail. I told him before I spoke with Paulina I was concerned, now I'm irritated because she misrepresented herself and wasted my time. AND MY HOUSE STILL STINKS with all the windows open and fans on!
