In this day of poor workmanship, I must share that I have found the most professional and competent company of the age. I hired The Painting Edge to paint my 2300 square foot home on the inside. The assignment included ceilings, trim and walls with plaster repair and primer. The estimate was carefully prepared and very through. I had three bids. I could have saved money with others, but I had a good recommendation on this company and the owner was clearly serious about providing an excellent experience. And he delivered and more. A week before our painting began, the owner came to our home to tell us what to expect. He told us the painters would start at 8, would have a morning and afternoon break and lunch. They would leave at 4. He asked what bathroom they could use and where they could clean their equipment. I liked knowing exactly what to expect. They left their areas clean and neat every single day. The day the painters arrived, (they were in the neighborhood before 8 as they were every day they were painting) and they walked in right on time. These young men were absolutely amazing. They were respectful toward me and my home. They were kind to my dog, who loved them. Our painters took pride in their work and were excellent. Prepping to paint was a huge part of the job, and the furniture was completely covered in plastic, wood floors were covered in paper, carpet was covered with tarps and both were taped in place. We moved the knick knacks and lamps, but our painters cheerfully moved what we couldn't. And when the job was finished, they cleaned up and moved things back to where they belonged. It was AMAZING! Cabinets were covered with plastic and openings were made for access to appliances. Any area being seriously plastered was encased in a plastic square. Vacuums were run during sanding. There was light dust, but nothing like past experiences. Cracks were filled, nails were pounded in and plastered and even unneeded openings, like for phone jacks, were filled in. The plaster job was perfect in every case. Before painting, in addition to plastering, walls and trim were sanded. Two to three young men painted in our home for sixteen days. They listened to good music, with my permission. I enjoyed the music, too. At times they sang with the music (I was on a different floor, but I could vaguely hear them singing.) These were happy workers. They made the work easier by enjoying themselves. They spoke respectfully to each other. They worked when they were in the house. No cell phone chatting, just work. (After the first room was painted, I realized I had made a horrible mistake on the color. It was a matter of changing color or changing carpet. I was upset beyond belief. I had to call the owner in the evening. I hate to bother people after hours, but I was physically sick. He was so kind and so helpful. I was on a flight the next morning at 10:30 and would be away for a week. He offered me alternatives and even suggest paint colors. I decided to be at the Sherman Williams store the next morning when they opened at 7. Todd had them expecting me. I selected two different shades and was out of the store by 7:14. A painter met me at the house and painted the colors on the wall in a huge area and set fans to quickly dry them. I was able to select a color that has been just right. I was off to the airport by 8. Of course, I had to eat some of the custom color paint that was already in place. The owner was very reasonable about repainting the room. He wanted me to be happy. I am touched all over again at his kindness. My stomach was very appreciative, too.) Finally, at the end of each day, the crew spent the last part of the day making the home as neat, clean and livable as possible. This painting experience was better than I could ever imagine. I respected our painters and their work ethic more than I can say. These were young men. They were reliable. They didn't cut corners. They not only painted my home, but they restored my faith in the next generation. I wish I could find companies and teams like this for everything I need to have done in my home. I've been a Painting Edge customer since 2003 for both interior and exterior painting. The Painting Edge team have just completed the exterior painting of the wood siding on my house and the backyard pergola. I wanted to share my experience with others who are researching companies for their painting needs. Every customer job is different. There are various nuances at each customer's project that must be addressed. Having a team with so many individual skills under one roof eliminates any extra hassle for the customer. The company has a number of interior and exterior teams to handle any type of painting job, along with carpenters to handle any wood repair and/or replacement. The project leaders coordinate everything and make certain no detail is missed. 3) Respect for the customer and the customer's property. The Painting Edge team members take pride in their work and in being as careful with the customer's property as they would their own. I have a great deal of landscaping and lighting that the men had to work around. The job site was kept so clean and organized that unless people passing by actually saw them on ladders, they didn't even know they were here. All the team members make sure that there is minimal disruption while the job is being done. 4) Dedicated and hardworking team members. The Painting Edge hires only the best people. Todd is careful in who he hires because he stands behind the quality his company offers. He oversees the project leaders who take the time to well train the new members so that everyone subscribes to the same quality standards that have kept them one of the best painting companies in the area. Lastly, I just want to mention that the entire team was so very personable and friendly, it was a pleasure to have them here. We wanted to have the entire interior of our home painted, and we were somewhat nervous about the process. We received three estimates and discussed the pros and cons of each company. In the end, we chose The Painting Edge, and we could not be happier with our decision! They were the most expensive estimate, but we received a "top of the line" paint job. I so often hear comments about how workers do not take pride in the job that they do. I found the complete opposite with this company. On day #1, Todd arrived with the team leader, Shane, and showed him what the job entailed. There were multiple plaster issues to resolve as well as the painting. Todd estimated that they would be in our home from 8-4 for 17 days. In the end, they were here 18 days. I also believe that Todd is an expert colorist. We were in doubt about what color to use, and Todd recommended five options. We went and got the five paint chips, and sure enough, one was just perfect! The entire team was timely, polite and incredibly reliable. I had no qualms at all about leaving for appointments while they were here. They were also incredibly respectful of our home. Todd told me this before the process began, but I wasn't sure what all that would mean. Every floor, cabinet and piece of furniture was carefully covered before any work began in each room. They repaired, sanded and cleaned as they went. Their precision painting is unparalleled. And at the end of each day, whatever supplies were used were neatly put away. As each room was finished, the drapes were hung and every piece of furniture was returned to its rightful place. The guys even suggested different light bulbs that are more energy-efficient. I am amazed by the difference that made! When it was announced that the final work day had arrived, I realized that my anxious feelings about the process were for naught. I really looked forward to seeing the guys every day, and I was in awe of the transformation that our home had taken. I just cannot sing enough praises for this company. We have a long history with The Painting Edge. Once they completed our first project fifteen years ago, we knew they would be our 'go to' painting company for all future projects. They have completed several indoor painting projects for us in the past few years including some that required drywall repair. Most recently, we had the entire exterior of our home repainted. We have an eleven year old dog who spends her days outside. The guys were quite kind to her and even refilled her water bucket with fresh water because of the heat during the day. They could not have been easier to work with and our finished product is something that is already getting compliments from our neighbors. A big thank you to Todd Cartmel and his team at the Painter's Edge! We purchased a second home in Westfield IN. We closed in early June and would not move in for about 8 weeks, going back to our home state in the meantime. Our new Indiana home needed wall repair and paint FOR THE ENTIRE HOME, big job. I called a few painting companies, we met with Todd and he was so knowledgeable and willing to work with our flooring company and our schedule that we hired him! We needed Todd to coordinate with our flooring company and get the job done while we were away. We had a July deadline to be back in our home. First, the home looks brand new and the Todd's crew were completed with the job before our deadline. We could not be more pleased with the results! Todd has excellent plaster/wall repair team members who fix all of the imperfections, nail holes, nail pops, etc. If you do not do this work first the painting will not look as good when finished. His team are masters at cleaning up the walls (and our home was FULL of nail pops, only 7 years old). Next Todd helped us with the paint color - we were looking to get away from Gray, we went with warm colors - beige and Tennessee Oak floors - Todd took our color ideas, purchased the paint and it is the perfect color for us - it looks fantastic! I would also like to mention trust - we had Todd's crew coming and going (we were not in Indiana!), working on the home, locking it up each end of day, keeping it clean. You have to trust your painting company to do the right thing and take good care of your property! Todd kept in constant contact with us and coordinated with our flooring company. Wow! Wow! Wow! I could end my review their, but that wouldn't do The Painting Edge justice. We decided to tackle remodeling our kitchen this year and we contracted out all the work instead of hiring an actual contractor. First of all, we took on more than we ever imagined, but when you deal with a company like The Painting Edge, it makes you feel you made the right choice. The owner and the employees are top notch, professional, respectful and very personable. The process was easy from the beginning. What they quoted, they performed above all expectations. Too many times you work with a company like this and something seems to always go awry. The work may not be as promised, the amount quoted may be insufficient, etc. Every single step of the process The Painting Edge did what they said they would do. We decided not to replace our kitchen cabinets so we ended up having the Painting Edge lacquer them. We had several quotes to paint the cabinets and when Todd evaluated our kitchen and explained their lacquering process, we were sold. They were not the least expensive, but remember, you get what you pay for. It was worth it! Now, I have to comment on the two man team that ended up being assigned to our job, they were nothing short of fantastic! It is rare you get someone that is careful, specific, and critical of their work as if it was their kitchen. The process was explained at the beginning and then again as each we progressed through the steps. Getting to know the guys a little was nice too! They are a fantastically unique team! This is the second time we have worked with The Painting Edge. Last year, we had a lot of our exterior painting/carpentry done and loved the results. This year, we had wanted some exterior painting done (front door), but mostly wanted work done on our interior. We wanted our kitchen cabinets coated, some drywall repair, and our master bathroom fully painted. Todd arrived to look at the projects to hear what we wanted. He was able to suggest some things that I hadn't realized might be possible. He was never pushy about doing anything extra and wrote up the estimate in such a way that we could pick what we wanted done. Honestly, I loved all the suggestions. Never would have thought about crown molding over our kitchen cabinets and absolutely love the look. I also hadn't known that they could do electrical work to change out the light I have never liked in our master bathroom to two lights. There were a lot of different projects that needed things to happen in a specific order to try to be the least disruptive as possible. Todd worked out the schedule and was great with communication of when everything would happen. Each time new workers would show up, Todd would be there to introduce them. A very nice touch. All the workers (Branden, Richard, El, Willie, etc.) were all very nice and respectful and incredible in their work. When I needed to change when people might arrive the next day, there was never any hesitation to accommodate my schedule. The end results were amazing and even better than I had hoped. We hired at least 7+ companies to take care of projects in our new home and The Painting Edge was by far the best company. We hired The Painting Edge to lacquer our cabinets and paint our entire interior (walls and ceilings) except for three rooms of our 4 bedroom/4 bath house. The owner Todd came to give an estimate for our project himself and was very detailed in both his approach and accuracy of his project proposal. We didn't have any financial surprises throughout the duration of the project and the estimate of the projects timeline was right on. Todd communicated with us in every step of the way and even came by himself to check in periodically when needed. His staff showed up consistently on time, was respectful and professional (we were living in the house for 90% of the project). They removed small items (hooks, coat racks, tv mounts) on the walls that we didn't want (from the previous owners) and patched up the dry wall. It looked as if nothing was ever there! The cabinets were dingy and paint was chipping -- now they look brand new! Throughout the cabinet project Todd ensured that it was a complete package. The cabinets needed some things adjusted, new hardware to be installed and shoe moulding added so he made sure the carpentry aspect of the cabinets was included in the service. Once the cabinets were lacquered it was a completed product. It was a relief to know that the cabinets would be entirely finished once Todd's crew was done. My family and I are extremely happy with the work that The Painting Edge performed in our home! The owner was very responsive and quoted us a fair estimate for the work that we needed done. With an older home such as ours, the job was not exactly straightforward. One of our bedrooms required a complete tear down of a plaster ceiling that was rapidly becoming a hazard to our family. After contacting multiple companies, Todd provided us with realistic options and we elected to have his company put up an entirely new drywall ceiling which included finishes such as spackle, priming, texturing and painting. I highly recommend The Painting Edge. We will be using them again for all future painting jobs! We have been burned in the past by using a "professional" painting company and were hesitant to hire again. However, The Painting Edge not only met our high expectations, but exceeded them! The Painting Edge has completed several jobs for me over the last few years. This work has included both indoor and outdoor paint/carpentry. Sone jobs by choice some not so much!!! We had a pipe burst in our office area not once but twice in a year. Todd not only beautifully completed all of the drywall and paint repair to the office, but also recommended a company for better insulation and helped coordinate the timeline to help prevent a third pipe burst! We most recently had our front porch redone with new railings, columns, and paint. Jesus and his crew were wonderful to work with and so helpful with extra little things that weren't even required by him for the job! My wife and I hired The Painting Edge to paint nearly our entire downstairs, the stairwell, the upstairs hall, and an upstairs bedroom. They did an excellent job! The painters were professional, always on time, and they worked with enthusiasm. The job was completed in the time range predicted, and every piece of furniture was covered or moved appropriately. Nothing was damaged. At times, I would need to go through the house to get something, and I noticed how many places the walls had been patched or leveled. It was really impressive. The outcome is great, and they fixed places I did not think it would be possible to fix (such as a dent on the corner of two walls). We had speakers removed from a wall and railings painted, and all of it was done to our liking. Todd's walk-through with us before the work began was helpful and shows he cares.
