We have now used ONiT twice, and have had an extremely good experience both times. The first project was to take our dark brown stained kitchen cabinets to white... the second a much smaller scale exterior job.... and I think it is important to say that they treated each with the same level of importance and professionalism, and that we were extremely pleased with the outcome of each project. They are also very good communicators, from the office personnel I dealt with, to the individuals in the field who are carrying out the actual painting job. I would highly recommend ONiT. read more

ONit was fantastic! They were recommended to me by my sister and brother-in-law (who had them refinish cabinets several years ago) and some friends who have used them for personal projects and for their rental property. Within a few days of reaching out to ONiT, they had sent someone out to do a free quote and they emailed over the full quote later that night. It took us a few weeks to book just because we were busy and traveling and they were maybe a little overly communicative in trying to get us on the schedule but I appreciated them reaching out via email and text as I'm one of those people that HATES talking on the phone. They were very patient as we went back and forth a couple of times about what we were doing in one area. We ended up having them paint one color throughout most of our main floor, the stairway/stairwell, and the upstairs hallway. The only complaint I have is that the start date of our project moved twice which was kind of stressful but it all worked out. The day of our project, the project manager came out and looked around the house and then got the crew set up. One person went to buy the paint while the other folks started prepping the house. I was shocked but they finished in one day. They were very careful and moved the furniture, took down the blinds, and put everything back together when they left. The project manager came back the following week to double check the work and sent the crew back out to fix a couple of paint runs for us. They were wonderful and I would highly recommend them! read more

Everything was great from the start. They were on time for the initial and final walk-thru. The painting team did a great job and they were quick. They put in full, long days. And the quality of their work is top notch. The entire exterior of our home was painted in 4 days and that included a down day due to weather. Highly recommend! Would give a zero if I could...I had a project completed several weeks ago. Never the less, I should've taken it as a sign when I called for a quote and couldn't reach anyone for days and when I finally did I reached someone named Emily who obviously wasn't the person who usually sets up quotes (I hope) who gave a time for later in that week. Skipping ahead- the "estimator" as they call it gave very accurate and multiple options as far as prices but had no idea about a time frame of when we could get started. So I let him know I would think it over and get back to him. When I called the office again to get a time frame (which again took several days) I again got this Emily person on the phone and when asking when we could get started I was presented with a HUGE time frame of different weeks of "it may happen this week-or this one..unless" and when I asked why I couldn't just be scheduled for a solid start (my project was indoors might I add) she used buzz words like "dynamic" and "flexible" --I'm guessing to avoid admitting she actually had no idea what was going on. I had heard good things about this company so I decided to move forward. When the project finally began (after I had been pushed repeatedly for reasons still unclear) I had no issues with the actual painting crew other than I had time to speak with the crew (very hard- good workers but spoke almost no English and did not understand me -which was a big problem as you could imagine when requesting to not paint or set tools certain places) who also let me know they were subcontractors- to which I was not surprised at all that a small, dysfunctional company as their own would not invest in their employees. (I would also like to add when I shared that I was unsure about color they suggested me to Sherwin Williams.. this did not feel like a personal experience at all) Overall the painting itself had nice results but the service was bad enough that I will never be choosing again or recommending to anyone. read more

Great job painting the 25+ foot cathedral ceiling in my home. They were here on time as promised and got it done. I couldn't be happier.

We hired ONiT to paint the entire interior of our newly purchased 23 year old 3,000 square foot home (including all interior doors and baseboards). I've been going back and forth between leaving 1 or 2 stars. Settling on 2 stars - MOST of the work done looks great. Here's why they wouldn't get more than 2 stars from me and why I will not hire them again. 1. The painting estimator was to meet us at our new home to give us an estimate before we moved in. We got the sellers to agree to being out of the house for 1 hour so we could get the estimate done. ONiT was well aware of the situation, yet they sent their estimator to a location 45 minutes away prior to our estimate (during rush hour). He ended up being 45 minutes late. That left us with 15 minutes to rush through the house. I told him upfront what I expected. I wanted every wall painted, every interior door, all the baseboards, the ceiling in the entryway and main room (dining, living room, kitchen) and the french doors painted going out to the backyard. When I got the estimate it had multiple mistakes on it. I went back and forth with him for 5 days trying to get the document correct. He was very nice, but I was frustrated. If he had been on time then we could have gotten that estimate taken care of the right way from the beginning. For a $6,700 project, we weren't off to a great start. 2. We got assigned a project manager named Ruben. He reached out to me to schedule the project. I asked how I am to communicate the colors I want & he gave me an e-mail to send the colors to. I sent it that day. I was VERY detailed and put the color and sheen that I expected for every area of the house. Over a week passed and I hadn't gotten a response. At that point, I had changed my mind on the color for my home office. I changed it from a blue to the cream color in the adjacent rooms. I followed up to my original e-mail noting that I hadn't heard back and asked them to please make a change to the color for my office. They responded and confirmed they would change the color for my home office. When it came time to paint my office, the painters had the ORIGINAL e-mail only with the blue color on there. I explained the situation to him and he said that was all they gave him. Complete incompetence. I told him to go ahead and paint it blue. Luckily I ended up liking the blue. But really, I sent an email about the change & it was confirmed so I don't know what happened there. 3. The week before the project was supposed to start Ruben called and asked if they could start the following Tuesday instead of Monday. He said at that time that he wanted a specific team on this project. I said I would be fine with that as long as they finish by that Saturday as was previously promised. He ensured that the project would be done by Saturday. The project was NOT done by Saturday. On Friday the painters told me they would return on Monday to finish. I texted Ruben to ask about this because he had said they would work on Saturday and he never replied to me. They never got back to me over the course of 3 days. Super professional. 4. Day 1 they show up WITHOUT MASKS ON. They walked into our home and none of them had a mask even around their necks let alone on their faces. I was pretty pissed off about this. We are in a pandemic! You would think the company would require their painters to wear masks or at least have the decency to ask the customer if they are okay with the painters not wearing masks. I texted Ruben that evening and said they needed to return the next day with masks. He agreed. The painters wore masks when we were in the room with them for the remainder of the project. If we left the room they took the masks off. Wasn't super happy about that but decided to let it go. Coincidentally, 5 days after the project started my boyfriend and I both got sick. We had been super careful prior to this. We got tested for Covid and it came back negative, but we were both sick with a cold for a few days. 5. When the painters were painting the basement they asked if we were replacing the carpet down there. We said we were. So apparently that meant they could get paint all over the carpet. We weren't thrilled about that either. Sure we are replacing it but it wasn't going to be for a few weeks. Paint job looks good w/some minor issues. Some doors were not done well (looks sloppy). In some rooms they didn't bother patching the wall. In the living room there's a spot by the baseboards where they were sealed with silicone by the previous owners. The painters told us the paint won't stick right there & just left it. Painters were hard working, the house looks 1,000 times better, the ceiling in the entryway was left off the quote but they corrected that without charging extra. TLDR; Paint job looks good but I wouldn't hire them again due to so many headaches and the fact that they were not professional enough to require their workers to wear masks when entering our home during a pandemic. read more

When we moved I got multiple quotes for repainting a few rooms....months later I have now had them paint absolutely everything in my home from ceilings to trim and even my garage doors. Their prices were super competitive and I trusted them from my first meeting. It is just so rare to have contractors show up on time and they ALWAYS have with every project I have booked them for. I will never even look anywhere else and give their name away at least once a month. You will be so happy with your freshly painted home project that will keep finding more things to update. read more

Very unsatisfied with the results of their work. From beginning to end, so many problems with the job. From sending inexperienced workers who literally used masking tape instead of painters tape, to not filling knicks before they taped, and who also moved our appliances across our wood floors. Then we demanded a worker who would do the job "right". A job that was quoted to be 3 days, took 2 weeks. And what were we finally left with? A kitchen with a terrible finish on our cabinets, scratched floors, and a job we could have done ourselves (and better!). I could go on and on and show you picture after picture. We finally, after 2 weeks, asked them to leave. And what did they want? Full payment with a small discount!! We didn't feel they had earned any more than the price of the paint. However, they did paint our kitchen walls (as a "we're sorry") and they actually can paint walls. We gave them half of what they wanted as payment and we still feel cheated. We are now stuck with painted kitchen cabinets that look awful! Again, I'd be glad to share pictures of everything to prove my point. Save yourself time, money and heartache and go find a company that knows how to paint cabinets. This is not them. read more

Did not go well. Terminated before completion. Our exterior project included soffit, trim, porch ceilings, doors, frames, and stucco on a 100+ year old 1.5 story brick home and garage/carriage house. Our final decision to select Paintco came down to their military affiliation as my husband and I are dedicated to supporting our veterans. Unfortunately the job was terminated before its completion due to a disparity over the definition of "scrap all loose or peeling paint to ensure proper adhesion of primer/finish coat." If you have a job that requires 2/3 of the time to be spent on set-up and prep this might not be the company for you. Be sure to understand at the time of quote what paint will and will not be removed and how it affects the stated warranty. Also you might want to make sure the contract requires that drop cloths be used at all times. I have paint chips in landscape, on the roof surfaces, sidewalks, and deck that would have been minimized with this measure. read more
