Intro to Rock Climbing with Valley to Summit on September 18, 2022…read more This was my second trip to Chickies Rock with VTS and it was wonderful! There were only 5 of us, so plenty of time to climb. Our Guide, Bob, was so patient, engaged and informative. I learned a lot of great things that I had not known before about clothing, ropes and technique. Bob was so patient with me and was there with his " green pointer" to help me over the tough spots. You should know that I am 74 years old and tho I have climbed indoors for a few years, my stamina was not that of the youngsters who were there! Nonetheless, it was a great time! I highly recommend Valley to Summit, this being my 3 rd trip with them. They Rock!

He asked a few questions, then determined that it should be OK for me to go on the hike. Shortly before the hike we received an email from Dave saying that because of the warm weather the trip would not have as much ice as it normally does. He offered to reschedule or refund our money if we wanted, but also said we could go if we wanted. We wanted. When I got there Dave and the guides were fantastic. Very personable. They were helpful but without being intrusive. One of them carried one of my forearm canes in his backpack in case I needed it. (This was to have one hand free for the ice axe.) The hike was great. At the end of the hike I asked one of the guides if he thought I could do the repelling they offer... he conferred with the owner and the lead repeller guide, and they agreed that I would be allowed to do that in the Spring. I highly recommend Valley to Summit for a great time. I look forward to a full day ice hike in February.

Awesome park for kids of all ages from 1 to 101!…read more My wife takes the kids here every so often, and she took me recently. This place is huge! Baseball fields, basketball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts, football fields, hiking trails, and a kids jungle gym. The playground is pretty big with dozens of slides and swings and tons of fun things for kids to climb on and run over! The whole park is kept in great shape in general. You can tell the community really cares about their space here! All in all a very nice park with tons of activities! They also do movie nights in the park in the summer! If tour kids need to unwind, come here!

We went…read morehere yesterday, just looking for a new park to check out, and we were pleasantly surprised. This park pretty much has everything; playgrounds, open spaces, ball fields, basketball courts, a hiking trail (allegedly...we couldn't find it, but that was most likely our fault,) walking paths, etc, etc. Despite being so large, it's also rather connected, if that makes sense, and you're able to get to everything relatively quickly. The park is more "open" than "large." For example, you can get from one playground to another, without having to take a trek. There is a ton of space, but you're able to traverse the space to navigate the park. There's also plenty of parking. Also, they do drive in movies and stuff here, AND, it's dog friendly, so there aren't too many negatives. The only "downside" I could see is that it got pretty busy, and just being crowd-phobic by nature, it's less than ideal for me. We'll definitely be back early and often.

I liked the Parcourse FitCircuit, which is a circular path with stations where you can stop and do exercises at various intensities and difficulties. There are bars for doing pull-ups as well. There is even a bike fixing station with tools to fix your bike or pump air into the tires. The circuit is near a baseball field and a playground. There are trees around the area where you can probably walk around a bit to feel like you're in a forest. You won't get lost though because they're right next to homes. I would definitely come back here.

If you come to the park early enough, you may also spot some deer in the walking path area to the left. There is also a HUGE parking lot in the middle of the park...and for the car enthusiast, they offer the occasional car show and you can see some nice classic cars! Lindenwold Park is a good starting place to hike the Camden County Parks Trail Network. From the parking lot follow the paved path towards Gibbsboro. For the parents: The playground is broken up into several sections. There are some non-traditional pieces such as the train or the ferry boat. Terrific offerings if you are a kid and have a basic imagination. There are also three separate, more traditional areas with the standard tower like climbing areas, multiple slides and crawling areas but with lots of different colors including pink, baby blue and goldenrod. There are also two swing sets, side by side and a plastic see-saw. The playground is in an area that is 230 feet by 80 feet. The entire area is mulched.

Honestly, I don't know why this place got such few stars? The four stars that I've assigned as well…read moredeserved. I visited on a weekday and perhaps that made all the difference in the world. My experience form beginning to end was fantastic. I think one thing that seems to bother most people is the BBQ lunch. The BBQ lunch was apart of my package and when I arrived they were just loading the buns to be taken out on the river. I'm getting a little ahead of myself here but you'll understand in a minute. When I arrived, there were already several eager adventurous folks checking in, buying waterproof items for sale, collecting their water rafts and some even already on the water. I checked in with my Groupon and as directed, I left my keys - collected my Kayak and proceeded to the bus. Please note, the rule is, everyone must wear a mask until you're actually on the water; great rule as it gets crowded in the shop as well as on the bus. It keeps everyone safe. I chose the kayak experience which was awesome but the real fun is in a tube. After my journey down the river, I immediately purchase another Groupon just so that I could come back and have a tubing experience. So, back to the BBQ lunch. By the time I paddles my way down (a few signs for the waters edge for direction) to the BBQ shack on the water, they were still setting up. I guess I paddle too fast. I decided to keep moseying down the river as I had already packed a lunch just in case after reading the reviews about the BBQ shack not being up and running. Oh well, next time I'll enjoy a burger. Again, this is the perfect mid week escape. The ride outside of NY is quick and there's plenty of parking. Although it says Delaware tubing it's actually located in New Jersey; well at least the border between the two. I would recommend going early and taking as much time as you like in a tube with family and friends. I would also recommend bringing children as they will develop a lifelong love of being on the water. I'm a big fan now and I can't wait to return in a few weeks. P.S. I was told by my bus driver, they offer a fall foliage experience where they only allow kayaks on the river.
