Cerchio earned 4th place on Spot.ph's list of Top 10 best crispy pata in Metro Manila. This is what brought us here, a food block somewhere along Limbaga St. in Quezon City near the corner of Tomas Morato.
Our early Monday evening dinner consisted of its oven baked crispy pata, pako salad, pumpkin malunggay soup, and Filipino onion soup.
My meal kicked off with a localized version of French onion soup. At first glance, it looked a little greasy but I loved it after my second spoonful.
My friend had the pumpkin malunggay soup, and I had a few spoonfuls of it. It lacked salt, and needed to be strained more before serving as we had more than a few stalks of malunggay (or herbs, we weren't 100% sure) stuck in our teeth. A bit annoying.
The crispy pata was quite good. Thin crispy skin (not a lot of fat), tender meat, served with three sauces (oddly, I liked the honey coriander dip the best).
My foodie friends have highly recommended the kare-kare and sisig, so I am looking forward to coming back to try the other items on the menu. read more
