This is hands down THE worst company. We have had CenturyLink for 7+ years and it has been an absolute sh** show. Every single time we move, we tell them "WE NEED THE FASTEST INTERNET YOU HAVE" and every single time, they tell us that they will have the tech install the best they have. When we call a month later because it's terribly slow and constantly drops, they say "oh there's a faster option, just pay $149 to have another tech come out to install it" I honestly feel like there's a lawsuit waiting to be won, because this is the most scammy BS I've ever experienced. Last time we called to cancel, they convinced my husband to stay by offering a free upgrade and locked in pricing. That was recent, and our internet is still terrible and guess what?? But wait they have a store front on Main Street right kinda there is a building that has a homeless person's cart blocking the door and 2 of the FedEx notification saying we missed being able to deliver to you. Absolute crooks. Paid $188 to set up service . Waited 3 weeks and it worked for 2 days. They made me put in a work ticket and wanted more money. I canceled my service but they continued to charge me. I had to have my bank block them from all future transaction. please beware read more

If there was a -10 rating that is what I would choose. The worst company in Central Oregon!!! Recently my wifi was terrible...speed of 1.9Mbps where I am suppose to get at least 5Mbps. So I get online and chat with an agent. Agent said the problem was with my modem, which I bought just about a year ago and has 5G capability. So the Agent wanted to charge me with a new modem. I said NO, I don't want a new modem, more than once I said I didn't want a new modem. But 2 days later the UPS put one at my door. I immediately got on the Centurylink website to chat again with an agent. Told the agent what happened and the agent said I wouldn't be charged for the new modem. Said since I didn't order it, the modem was free. Very skeptical I said "sooooo, then I can hook it up and I wont be charged?" Yes was the answer. The agent then said, but for you to get faster internet speed you have to upgrade and that would cost me. I saw where this was going so I said, "no I'm not interested in that...I just want the 5Mbps that I pay for and am not getting." I ask for a return label (I had not even opened the box because I knew what it was) so the agent sent me a link which I clicked on to download the return label. On that link it said, if you do not return this modem in 30 days you will be charged $200. Can you freakn believe this crap?????? So I got on the Centurylink website yet again to talk to an agent. I specifically asked to be connected to a US agent. So when the agent came on, I went off!! Told the agent what happened and that I was pissed. The agent was shocked this happened and said I would not be charged and if I was to give them a call they would take the charge off. Hell I'll just call my bank and have them cancel the charge...because I know how the next chat will go with Centurylink. WHAT A FREAKN SCAM!!!!!! So, the package has the return label attached and it will be sent back on Tuesday. But this company is TERRIBLE. I am looking to change my internet company...what a terrible company!!!!!! This internet service sucks!!!! If you don't HAVE to get it, don't! Pay the extra for Bend Broad Band!!

Yeah, it's really really really really really really bad. Supposed to get ~ 20mbs, typically it's around 2-5mbs throughout the day and evening, then it drops to 0.5mbs... I've called CenturyLink many times, they give me the usual nonsense, 'well maybe it's the router, we'll send out someone in 3 weeks, please be available between the hours of 8-5' ... And they still can't fix it. I got the router from them, they recently put in a new line in my neighborhood, so no it's not that.. It's just CenturyLink... They were terrible back in Medford too... And Boise. Blahhh. Edit: 10/31/18 - The internet continues to suck. I have to use my cell coverage to even write this review. Century Link only exists out here because there isn't anything else. They are an absolute sham. A good analogy would be going to the gas station, paying for 60$ of gas, but only getting 5$ put in the tank. They will be replaced soon, no doubt. Edit: 11/23/28 - Century Link continues to fall on it's face. Watch a holiday movie on Netflix? Forget about it, that would require the internet to work on the weekends too. Their excuse is 'too much internet traffic' , coming from a company that can't even provide 10mbs on a good day. Ehh, what can you do except complain, so hopefully other people will read this and not choose Century Link. We need to demand better internet service around here. Edit: 12/3/18 - yep still bad. Download speed 0.98mbs, upload 1.8mbs. Spoke to tech support today, had me reset my router, then he 'optimized' my connection from his side, which in turn disconnected my internet, then he hung up on me. So I call tech support back, spend an hour on the phone with a new technician who can't figure out what button the last person pressed, and now they can't figure out how to get the internet turned back on. The answer is to send another technician out to my house, so I have to miss another work day... Oh and they want to charge me 85$ for the tech visit. Welcome to Century Link. Century Link is a sham. First of all, CenturyLink ran credit on us when we scheduled installation for service. We never gave them permission to run credit. Secondly, we asked the installer what the speed was of their Internet service and he didn't know. Finally, CenturyLink said we could keep our existing equipment to use for their service, but the tech said we'd have to buy their equipment. When I asked him the price, he didn't know. I tried calling their customer service dept. to ask, and I couldn't get a real person on the phone, so I canceled the service immediately. read more

I would give these idiots zero stars if I could. I've had their internet service for a year, living in a 5th wheel wheel while a new house gets built due to a fire. I've just spent 3 HOURS on the phone and internet just trying to get someone to run a line in the utility trench and been connected or disconnected to the wrong people and robots at least 30 times!!!!!! read more

I would rate this company with zero stars if The option allowed. This is the worst internet service and the customer service matches. They charge an exorbitant amount for internet service that works intermittently and constantly drops the signal. Price needs to be dropped to align with the level of service, they should not be trying to compete with large companies like Comcast since the service is not even comparable. Customer service is just as terrible. There are multiple numbers needed to contact different departments & the hours of availability to reach an agent are not standard. They rely too heavily on the automated services creating frustrating clients. If you're going to compete with the big dogs invest in upgrading your network to provide comparable internet and customer service. It's unfortunate companies are allowed to operate like this and theres nothing consumers can do about it. read more
