After more than a decade dealing with Cox and feeling as though I had to keep buying a new modem every other year (which is ridiculous to go through two expensive modems -Netgear and Motorola- in two years,) my household decided it was time to make the move to Quantum fiber. With Cox, we could never even be sure if the problem was on their end or ours. But why should I have to keep playing guessing games and replacing modems and routers? Then reset after reset which would last an hour before having to reset the modem again. If you work this is unacceptable. If you stream or game, this is unacceptable. If you conference or do calls through private messengers over wifi, this is unacceptable. And in terms of hearing, "Oh you need to get a new modem" every other year; After a while you almost begin to wonder, "Is Cox deliberately breaking my equipment in hopes I will rent or buy theirs so they can make a sale?" Who knows. But those thoughts did cross my mind. What I do know is the level of frustration of paying for a service they simply cannot provide especially now that there is more competition in the area since fiber became available. I'm not saying that this is what was going on but interestingly enough, when we called to cancel Cox and tell them we went with Quantum, they suddenly offered to give us a new modem free and half off the service. Now this was interesting considering before they said we had the 'best price' and that all was fine on their end when we would say our internet kept going up and down but then would tell us we needed a new modem without offering it until we actually cancelled their service (which by then it was too late and too bad- so sad). Why did they never offer to rectify this concern before? Another thing about Cox is their data caps and then the cost of service for the speed. $120 all in for Gigablast and unlimited data (the unlimited caused it to be higher otherwise they capped at 1 TB a month) and that's only nearly a gb down speed, NOT upstream! So trying to upload a big file? Go get lunch or dinner and it 'might' be done by then especially if it's a multi-gigabyte file. And I use the word 'might' so long as your modem doesn't reset or the speed doesn't come to a crawl. Good luck content creators! So after Quantum installed fiber in my neighborhood, I heard mixed reviews. Some saying you will never look back and others saying don't do it. Seems many have had mixed experiences and I did a fair amount of looking at reviews online and on YouTube reviews. Well, we decided to roll the dice and at least try it. We kept having outtages and resets with Cox and kept getting tired of feeling as though we were getting gaslit and the runaround for what we paid, so really, what did we have to lose? We booked the appointment on a Friday in early September, and the tech was out bright and early on Monday morning. The whole install took about two or three hours from pulling out the copper line that goes to the house and then installing the fiber. This didn't take long as the hub was in our front yard. Then of course setting everything up indoors. Tech was courteous, knowledgable and friendly. Did everything neatly. Speed we chose was 1 Gbps service which is plenty (they have five tiers -500 Mbps, 1 Gig, 3 Gig, 5 Gig and if you're insane, 8 Gb) and it is symmetrical (at least most of the time) but even times the upload may decrease it's still 10x faster than Cox is capable of (Cox can only do 100 Mbps up). So service requested and delivers for our needs over expectations. Been almost two months and so far so good. No outages and best is we didn't have to buy the equipment so if anything should go wrong it's on them to replace it and did I mention the price is $40 lower than Cox? They say it is a price-lock so time will tell if that's really true or not. The only thing I so far would dock a star on is their router. Because it is wifi 7 it is technically backwards compatible with older devices and that yeah, they work, but it seemed I pulled higher speeds with my old TP Link router. Not sure why that is but then on newer devices and direct connections you do get the advertised speed most of the time. It's more than enough even if all of us are using it at the same time. So credit given where it's due so far in terms of service. Definitely worth it, just hope I don't ever have to deal with Centurylink customer service as I've heard that is their one flaw should there be a problem. But I have heard rumors that AT&T is going to be acquiring Centurylink so we shall see how it all goes long term. I can always add to my review or change it if need be. In all, if you are tired of Cox and don't want congested 5g wireless; Quantum fiber (installed by CL) is your best bet. I would at least weigh the pros and cons and as of now in my experience, would recommend. Fiber is your best bet hands down if it's available in your neighborhood. read more

In attempting to cancel my Century Link internet service, I was told they do not prorate bills. I had wanted to extend my service 4 days beyond the paid period. They also advised me, as my paid period ends on a Sunday, they "couldn't" stop service on weekends, really? To push a button? So, they were going to cancel my paid service on the preceding Friday, supposedly not earlier than 5:00 pm. Cheating me on 2 days of already paid service. We'll see. I was bushwacked into using them, as Century link bought out Quantum Fiber, under no circumstances would I ever have chosen Century Link. They have the WORST customer service, and policies. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. Our internet has been down for 5 full days. Not only is that terrible, the customer service side is just as terrible, if not more so. I keep signing up to receive updates and have not received one single update within these 5 days. Not that they're working on it, need parts, what's going on.....NOTHING! We'll be switching to AT&T. Mainly because Cox is terrible too read more

This is the worst internet provider I've ever had the displeasure to be a customer of. The service drops several times a day and customer service is no help what so ever!! absolutely worthless. an existing customer moving to a new address, I was told I had to wait 3 weeks for the transfer of service. i took a day off from work and waited ALL DAY and at 4pm, they cancelled. They didn't move me to the next day... they rescheduled me for the next available - which was ANOTHER THREE WEEKS. when you call, what you are told depends on who answers; nobody says the same thing. asked for a supervisor, waited two hours for a call back - NOTHING. you cannot talk to anyone who actually knows what they are doing. i have decided to cancel everything and go with T Mobile. My husband and I rely on internet since I work from home and he owns his business. Last Friday internet was going in and out. Centurylink has great Customer Service. They got a tech to come on Monday and again on Tuesday since first tech got it back on temporarily. Both Techs were very nice and respectful, but Tim C. (2nd Tech) explained the issue very well and fixed it. He was able to fix the issue. We've been Centurylink Customers for over 5 years now and we've always loved their great Customer Service. read more

Worst service! I've called several times to cancel my service because they are no longer available in my area. They say they cancel it, but sure enough, they are STILL charging us and claiming we owe them money. I'm not sure how they are still in business with their horrible service. I think it's time to report them to the BBB! And if I could give zero stars I would! read more

Horrible internet service. Paying for 80 mh and equipment only giving me 60. Not capable to push 80. Called and sales lady said I could upgrade to 100 to get better service! Huh? Worst service I have ever received. They were suppose to port my landline when I connected their internet. I had the internet installed by Quantum and they said this had to be working before I could port my landline. I had internet installed 8-22-25 and it was completed very professionally. I then had to request the landline be ported. I filled out all the information and submitted the request. I god a confirmation date of 9-2-25. Nothing was done so I called to find out why. Never got a good explanation just a " no worries, it is in process". I waited a few days and finally got the black box I needed for the port. I called again and they scheduled it out a week. That is what they require for the change. Went through all the same as I did before. Again, scheduled out a week. Nothing again. Went through the same call to find out what happened. There was a problem in their system and it showed it was already ported. I assured them it was not. Scheduled out another week, This is the 4th scheduled time. Nothing happened so I called to today and said if they did not get it ported today they should disconnect it all. The agent said OK, do you want it disconnected now or at the end of your billing period next month. I said now and she said fine. Thanks for calling and have a nice day and hung up. I wish there was a minus star rating. I would go 5 below except for the person I talked to on 8-17-25. She was the best but she can't fix a broke company. read more

My business cancelled CenturyLink after 15 years back in February. We had our numbers ported over to new company and paid every penny that was owed. So here we are in September and now being sent to collections. We have had multiple conversations every month since March with customer service, Lumen, small business and anyone that would listen. We have been told each time that the problem has been fixed. The hours of being left on hold, talking to reps we could barely understand and being disconnected multiple times, I am lost at what to do. Can someone please help. The worst experience I have ever had with any company. We have lots of documentation on this journey that has been forced upon us. read more

CenturyLink is by far the worst company i have ever dealt with. I was stood up by them three time for internet installation. They gave me a window from 8am to 5pm saying that they would come out between those times. So I waited for them but no tech ever showed up. The worst thing is that they don't even have the courtesy to let you know if they are coming or not. It takes 50 to 60min to talk to a representative and even though you get a rep they would say some stupid excuse like the technician had to much work that day that he couldn't get to my house., or that they had booked to much tickets for that day. Very lame excuses for such a big company. I would never ever recommend CenturyLink even to my worst enemies. That's how bad they . They deserve a negative star if only yelp would let me. read more

Worst customer service on the planet, too bad I cannot rate ZERO STARS!!! Last Monday my Internet went out! I called CenturyLink and after waiting for more than an hour, I got connected with s.o. overseas, I believe India! With my accent and his, it was very touch to understand each other! Anyway after another 30 minutes, he managed to check my modem online and he said, my modem is defect and I need to get a new one! I asked if he could provide some technical term to find the right one and he said, I need a C3000Z! So I went to three stores, no one carries this kind of modem, only modems for COX cable! So I had to drive even further away to the next BestBuy! There they told me, you can't get any modem for CenturyLink anywhere, because they only sell them at CenturyLink! After four hours I was back home, and called CenturyLink again, only to find out that it was now after hours! (What happened to 24/7 customer support¿¿??). Next day another 2 hours on the phone, was told a technician has to come out, and the earliest date was today (6 days without Internet!!!!!!)! The time was set between 8:15 and 4:15 but was told I can download the app to find out a closer time frame)!!!! Remember, I have no Internet, and on my phone the signal was too weak to do much online! Well loooooooooooooooooong story short! Got up very early this morning to be ready at 8am! At 7:30 they text me, technician will arrive after 12pm! OK, enouch time to clean the house! At 10am I'm done and sat down for breakfast! There comes the next text which says, the technician is on his way, will arrive in 30 min. WHAT? I was still in my pajamas! No phone number of the service man provided, and text is automated, no communication possible! So I hurry to take a quick shower, jump in my cloths, just to see that the technician is walking away already from my house (after 10 minutes!!!), but could manage to still get ahold of him! He fixed the problem, and it was NOT even the modem! Z E R O communication, only text, emails and on their app, everything automated NO life person, AWEFUL AWEFUL AWEFUL!!!!!! I will switch to another provider, but was told COX is not much better! read more

This place does not exist. Phone numbers go somewhere else. Will see you "by appointment only" but THEY never answer their own phone. There is no tech support. Calls out sourced to India, answers are passive aggressive and NEVER help; they have a few pat answers which don't apply, are disingenuous and provocative. This is getting ridiculous. I live in Queen Creek, Arizona and every day this week about 9 am the internet has gone out all day and is still out when I go to work for the grave shift. If I could rate them fewer stars I would! Back mid-August we attempted to sign up with Centurylink and the phone service tech was impossible to understand during the conversation. She placed us on hold several times and would come back each time with worse communication skills. Finally, my wife got completely discouraged with the call and disconnected. She went online a couple days later and communicated through a virtual technician canceling our order to connect and the account. We had decided to use Cox internet instead due to the speeds available. According to the online tech everything was cancelled. On the day of the original install the technician showed up knocking on our door. She announced "I'm here from Centurylink to install your internet". I told her we had cancelled the services last week and didn't need to have anything installed. She said, "oh! Nobody told me" I said, "sorry, but that would be an internal issue." She turned and walked away. We received a bill for services from Centurylink for $156.+ and my wife called and talked with the customer services person. He looked up our account and after a lengthy Q&A session said he would credit our bill back to our original service call bringing the balance to $00.00. Today we received an arrears billing statement with a credit of $45.00 and an invoice for $111.40! So, once again we called customer services and talked with a tech and again we were told the account has been credited back to a zero balance and confirmed closed...I guess we'll see if we receive another billing statement in the mail. read more

I'm sitting here writing this review with my WIFI off, the reason? Well, because I can't get Centurylink WIFI to work for more than 3-4 minutes in a row for about a day and a half now. I can't get ahold of them, they're totally unresponsive and appear as if they don't care if my service is horrible or not. I must be the biggest sucker in the world for paying for this "service." Centurylink - Internet Service Providers Near Me - Queen Creek, Arizona

How does Centurylink reward a loyal costumer who is moving and willing to pay $10 more a month for faster service? By charging me over $125 for installation. Even Cox and DirectTV has free installation when you move. Called about it and was just told that's the way it is. I can tell you I will be looking for another provider soon. Clearly no care for customer loyalty. Guess they would prefer to loose customers. It shows in their customer service. Really disappointing. read more

I went through all their troubleshooting steps and did everything that they told me to do and still nothing was resolved. I was just hung up on for the 4th Time by these people. This company should be shut down and not allowed to operate anymore as they are literally at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to this particular service. I've seen nothing done about improving these problems and it doesn't seem as if CenturyLink really cares anyway. My area is contractually obligated to use CenturyLink service which is a travesty because I would love to switch but I can't.
