Do not bother. Transition is in process with AT&T who has purchased Lumen. Just spent 4 days trying to resolve recent billing - through no fault of ours. Their autopay bugged out. Tried to charge me for late charges through no fault of ours, finally credited that then attempted to bill for two months. Finally resolved. Service has fallen. Customer service is Phoned in from outside the US. You do it their way or take the highway. Can't wait for AT&T to take over and then I can re-evaluate services to see if I'll stay or change. I have had Century link for years and never really had any issues, Now I 'm 5 days into no internet and I can't seem to speak to a actual person to find out what is causing the outage, Just a repeat of we are working to fix it and new dates for it to be up and running .They continue to change the dates and times .Now after 4 days I don't believe it will be fixed. I think they just don't give a darn. Since there might only be 10 people in this service area they are in no hurry to fix it . I cancelled my service 2 months ago and received a return label to send my equipment back, which I did. I even have the tracking number. They still billed me for 2 months after I cancelled so I called them to get the money back. they said they had no record of my cancellation and they could not send any money back. I then spoke to a supervisor and she told me the same thing. I asked for a compromise of one month and she wouldn't even do that!! Horrible service and completely non negotiable!!! I spent hours attempting to sign up for there internet service. Finally scheduled a technician out to do hookup. He failed, couldn't find a working phone line. I called customer service and was on the phone for an hour and a half. after talking with numerous people the "solutions rep" told me to call back on Monday. He said my account was pending so there was nothing he could do to help me. We have decided to stay with our current provider. I would not recommend Century Link as a provider. They have poor customer service practices: long hold times, no call back options, employees have no power to make changes, supervisors don't call back. If you are looking for internet service I would suggest Cox. The phone number is 855-774-4441. Or, there are many other providers. Just do a search. Stay away from Century Link. Absolutely awful. I just moved into my new apartment. The only wifi offered here is Century Link. Had an appointment today, and waited from 8am. Wait window was until 5. That is just ridiculous that they can't give a shorter window. Most people have lives and jobs. I suddenly got a text that technician was coming between 8am-7pm today. I called my sales rep who works with my apartment complex and was told that the technician canceled because I wasn't home. I WAS HOME ALL DAY!!! The sales rep was just apologetic and offered to reschedule. Told me there was no way for him to resolve this and find out what happened. He just kept apologizing. What is the point of his job exactly? Just to have me sign up but zero help? I called customer service and was transferred 5 times. By the 5th time, the man could not understand what I needed and I hung up. I had to call the sales rep back and ask to make another appointment for Thursday this week. Let's see if they even come. No Stars.... This company is the worst. My Aunt and Uncle who are in their 80s and have medical conditions (AND APS has them listed as a medical house) have been without a phone for over a month (I also asked for a months credit due to no phone service). I called Century Link over a month ago to get a repair person out and they stated they would be out the next day between 8-5p. And of course they did not show up. I called again today after my uncle told me their phone still does not work and the agent had the nerve to tell me that there is no tickets, BUT they do have record of my phone calls to them. I asked the agent does he think I called just to say hi to century link, NO I called each time about a repair ticket. And I asked to speak with a supervisor and he refused to let me speak to someone high than him. My aunt who is on dialysis and O2 full time now has to wait to call 911 until Tuesday because of this company. I know I am being facetious. IF either of them have a medical emergency during the 4 day waiting period I will be filing wrongful death suite against CenturyLink and a complaint with the FCC about this company. They should be ashamed of how they treat their customers (over ~40 years) and acting like they have no record of products being reported as an issue. AND on a side note: A technician that did show up prior to this repair issue on the same repair problem from before --- Stated "there are to many houses for the box to handle so we just switch them around". This current phone problem started when the neighbor across the street lost her landline and the technician came out to the box and coincidentally her phone works and now my Uncles does not on the same day. Rarely write reviews, but the CenturyLink technician (Randy) we had yesterday was off-the-chart helpful. Our modem was bad and he replaced it--along with the old power cord. Then he helped me synch my iPhone to the new Wi-Fi. Then he helped me set up my iPod mini to the new Wi-Fi--which took some time. I hadn't brought the instructions with me --but he got the instructions from Siri on his phone--and did the complete set up of the Mini for me. Much appreciated! Imagine a man coming into your porch area, kneeling down, dismantling the service boxes & then leaves. Mind you, I had not ordered service nor did I know the man was from Century Link. Had to chase him down the street to ask who he was, what was he doing and was he coming back. He said he was coming back as he was doing a connect for my neighbor. Now, how would I know this as I only saw his back. He did not offer credentials. He did return (Friday). Monday another man came, did not announce his presence. Later, another man came but did ring the doorbell. I asked him to pass onto his superiors for the courtesy of a doorbell ring. I would not have been so bothered but torn up box & left. Century Link has not provided service for our land line for a couple of weeks. Our internet service is not always dependable. We tried to schedule an appointment for a technician and we're told that we would have a technician to come to our home and evaluated the connections. We we're told someone would be at our home between 8:00 and 6:00. We received a notice while we we're waiting that our time table was changed to 2:30 until 6:30. No service tech ever came. We are number 53 on the customer service line as we wait. The worst company ever!! Not dependable. Arrogant customer service and no service. Paying for a service that we don't have. CenturyLink is a joke. We have been without service for 3 days. A tech came out on Thursday and basically did nothing. Scheduled another service call for Friday-waited all day and then got a message that our service call was rescheduled for the following Monday. I'm assuming that this is the location I'm being connected to as it is closest to my address, but Centurylink and anyone that has "helped" me is absolutely useless. After 3 moves and having the same issue 3 times, I've explained it ahead of time before transferring my services and requested to have a tech out on the day that my service needed to change. They refused to schedule a tech, and now my family working from home and a student that needs it for online learning access is screwed. First complaint is the horrible automated answering system! It goes on and on. Second, calls are answered overseas which means being unable to understand different accents! Very, very frustrating. So they were out earlier and we're supposed to fix a problem and fixed half of it. So I still have the problem because it didn't fix it. So then I call in today to follow up and I got cut off the first time got cut off the second time got cut off the third time I'm on their stupid chat crap that they have and that. Their customer service agents are nowhere near qualified to answer any of the questions. The first thing they tell you is oh you have to reset the router and lose all your settings. Every time we do that. Then they say you have too many users on your account. Which nobody's connected to it they're not there so nobody's using the internet. It's so ridiculous that has absolutely nothing to do with the problem. So then I talk to a supervisor and that's the only way I can ever get a resolution but now it's taking so long to get to the supervisors because they have hired so many unqualified technicians that it's this is getting ridiculous and all the times I'm getting cut off because I'm on a cell phone. We need to get back to customer service 24/7 and handle the customers instead of sitting on hold with this chat crap with people in all over the world in other countries in the Philippines that have no idea what they're doing. this review comes in two parts. The first part being a "One Star". I had received my bill from Century Link and the "Price for Life" had increased. I checked their web site to confirm pricing and the details. I discovered new "Price for LIfe" customers are getting the same service for $10 less per month, $45 per month for new customers. I called and questioned why there was an increase. They explained that the internet service price would remain the same for life, but the "Century Link @Ease" service would increase periodically. So my price would increase. So Price for Life is as they said in their commercials "They can't do that!" is correct. I asked to be transferred to retention, but the operator told me should could not do that without a reason. I asked her to get me a supervisor who could transfer me to retention. I was put on hold and she came back and transferred me to retention. This is the 4 star part I was transferred to Lisa #AC46983. I explained my case to Lisa and asked to have the @Ease service removed from my account and also my monthly charge reduced to the amount that new Price for Life customers were receiving. Lisa was understanding and attentive. She immediately made the changes. Lisa understands the value of customers and how to provide customer service. We have had a damaged Century Link box in the front of a property at Sands North in Scottsdale near Indian Bend Rd. for several years. It looks terrible, it's half fallen over. Various owners have requested repair but CL never follows through. 4 calls with service request have been put through to various departments, works requests made, and service is supposed to be completed tomorrow, 12/24/20. I'm currently still paying for because they are Covid scared and refused to come in the home to do the repairs on the phone line and internet that needs to be done inside the home. Horrible service. I have been having problems with slow internet so a tech came over and changed the cables. He left the cable going through my drive way and yard and said someone would come to bury them. This was over a month ago. THIS IS A LIABILITY, SOMEONE CAN TRIP AND FALL WITH THESE CABLES. I have called multiple times and finally another tech came over and was shocked that the cables were left in this condition for such a long time. She left without doing or telling me anything. I have no clue what's going on. I called multiple times and have been on hold for over an hour. I try the chat on line and it keeps getting disconnected. I put my telephone number and ask them to call me if we get disconnected but they never do. There's no way of talking to a customer service rep. Hopefully none of my neighbors fall from these cables.
