Have had static on my landline for months. Always get different answers from service technicians. The last one said the hard wire old lines were about 50 years old and the company would spend no money to repair them. His advice was to put up with the static, get a cell phone, or arrange for voip service. I cancelled my service within 3 weeks of his last useless visit and now find the company still wants to charge me for a full month more service even though I asked them to turn off the service immediately. Wore internet provider ever!! We have been out of internet since t lest midnight and won't be restored until tomorrow at 6:00pm!! I am sure they aren't working around the clock to fix it. If this was a planned service outage it would have been nice to know in advance! They have you over a barrel because you get a lower payment if you do direct bill pay, so can't deduct the days you don't get service! read more

We recently moved to Southwest Aurora and needed to setup internet service so we contacted CenturyLink. We thought this would be easy because CenturyLink was previously providing service. What a mistake on our part! CenturyLink told us we had to wait a whole week to have the service set up in our name, which was a major inconvenience because we both work from home. But they said we had to wait for the guy. And then CenturyLink service gave us a four hour window for the hook up, and we where home and waited for the guy. But the guy never showed. And then we got a message that the guy wasn't coming because he couldn't get into the house, What?? We where home waiting... and there was never a knock or a shadow at the door or anything. So we called and after 30 minutes of negotiating, CenturyLink said maybe the guy could come back. Never mind. We ended up going with T-Mobile and got the internet on in 1 hour. When the service goes down they don't care if you work at home. They set our service date a week out. We called 3 times and they don't give a shit. Just keep paying the high prices with xfinity. At least you know you won't lose your job using century link. read more
