I moved to Optima about 8 months ago and have loved every minute of it. After living at several…read moreother places (good ones as well), I've found Optima Signature is exactly what I really wanted. Here's why:
The People:
The staff is amazing. I've seen folks here work in a positive manner and graciously handling all the people scenarios that go along w/high rise living in a beautiful city. From the mundane, "I've lost my key" to the rare rude person having a bad day and blaming staff for roads being blocked for the DNC - Optima folks rock.
- Speaking of staff - the maintenance crew wows everyday. I've had to put in a couple of requests and they came that day - within a couple of hours even! Fantastic. And I see them taking excellent care of the building everyday - cleaning the pool, cleaning the dog area, repainting where a scuff has occurred, etc. You name the dilemma - they are going to try and get it fixed pronto. Shout out to Scott, Theo, Sergio and all the folks!
The apartments themselves - I really like the layouts. Other places had more square footage "on paper," but the the layouts didn't make it feel as spacious as my place here. Love the kitchen setup and expansive windows as well.
The amenities. Wow. This place has amenities for days.
The entrance: Love the expansive entrance. Walking up to the feeling never fails to make me smile. Walking out is equally wonderful as you enter a large, airy space - it doesn't feel "cramped" here.
The front desk: Love the 24/7 desk security - It helps make me feel safe and that folks are watching out for me. Can't say enough about the desk staff either - they work hard and I appreciate them. Shout out to Melvin, Sierra, Jenny and Nyeem!
The package room: Well run - and they have a freaking ton of stuff coming through there every day. I don't know how they keep up with it. And they will deliver it to your apartment as well! Stellar.
Fitness: Super well-equipped strength training and cardio setup, Basketball Court, Pools, Saunas, Spas, Golf simulator, putting green, Squash court, Bocce ball court; you get the idea!
Social areas - Several TV watching and hang out areas on three different floors; Library; Theater room; "Test Kitchen" (my name for it as it's beautiful and looks like the ones on the cooking shows!); game room with a pool table, table shuffleboard, ping-pong and more; outdoor areas on several floors that include grills, fire tables and lots of seating. And for those who really dive in and splurge a bit on the high rise life (floors 37 and up I think) - they have access to a beautiful rooftop that has indoor seating, TVs, and outdoor seating, grills, fire tables and the like. Super cool!
- Okay, I've gone on enough. And I know I put in a lot in about the amenities - they're great and I actually use them, so I'm fond of the setup. I have to say though, it's the people that make the place - and there are great people here. I've already mentioned the employees - and will reiterate that they really work hard to make the building awesome and are one of the main reasons I love it here. Also, the people that live here are super cool as well, which is also terrific. It feels like I have neighbors and I'm part of a community.
Anyway, if you've read this far, you're probably wondering if I have any negative things to say. Well, nope, not really. Doesn't mean everything is always rosy - one of the elevators goes down for a day every other month or so and that slows things down a bit. Hasn't been terrible though - just an occasional extra three minutes here and there. And the pools occasionally get closed for the day for cleaning or small repairs - a bummer in the summer - but it doesn't last long and I love that they are keeping everything so nice.
So, if you're asking whether you want to move in, I say - do it. Make the move. It's a great building to live in. Take the plunge. And. See ya at the pool.
