One of the email specials for this week was Reflexology with Sophie with a choice of minutes: 30 minutes /s19.99 (reg $35); 45 minutes /$25 (reg $50); 1 hour/ $39.99 (reg $65); 75 minutes/ $49.99 (reg $80); and 90 minutes /$69.99 (reg $100). I went with the 45 minutes which was a real deal! The room seemed a little smaller than others that I have been in at Blooming Lotus, but was pleasant nonetheless. Sophie is very likeable and makes you feel very comfortable. She put one hot compress on my abdomen and another under my neck and a blanket over me. I felt pretty cozy. Sophie then kind of massaged and stretched both feet a little before putting a hot towel over one and getting to some serious reflexology on the other! Although I was very relaxed, there were times when Sophie hit some points that caused some serious discomfort and I knew I was experiencing reflexology and not just a foot massage. I am really feeling good after that reflexology treatment and plan to make it part of my well-being program. Thanks Everyone at Blooming Lotus for taking good care of me!

0 out of 5 stars. I took a chance on this place after having a great experience at Happy Feet. I…read morethought I'd try another local business. This was the most unprofessional massage experience I've ever had. The older woman was all about money, up-charging everything. Okay fine. I'm so happy I left my underwear on for the full body massage because she exposed me multiple times and even left the room to get hot stones and cupping cups with the door open. I got BLISTERS from the cupping. I've had cupping for 20 years and never experienced this. I had this on Monday and today Friday I have scabbing. She tried to use Google Translate to tell me that it's normal and it's because I'm "damp". She then sat on my butt and massaged my back essentially humping me. There's no way this woman has a legitimate license for massage. When I turned over she exposed my breasts twice. She left the door open when my session was finished instead of closing it so I could get dressed comfortably. It was $75 for the 60 min massage (an up-charge for "hard" pressure which she did not follow through with) and $45 for cupping that left me disfigured. So $120. I have her $200 cash and she said thank you and took all the money!! I said you need to give me change! She did and I still tipped but I will never ever go back. Wow, I'm shocked this place is open.

Of course there is a language barrier because English is not their first language. Once you pay the entrance fee, you can do a lot of things for free except for the massages and exfoliating bath and food. You can sit in on a movie (movie are 80' and up). Lounge around in the saunas or just relax and talk in the lounge chairs. They provide T-shirt and shorts which is included in the entrance fee. I enjoyed the fresh juice most of all in the food court. It was like an Asian experience without being in Korea, Japan or China. This is not a place you can experience as a large group as the saunas are first come first serve. I highly recommend this establishment !!Fast friendly service. Recommend you start early so you can get to experience most the saunas and services.

I am sitting here happily opening my jaw fully and without pain for the first time in 3 weeks. After one sports-type massage session plus tonight's session of craniosacral and manual therapy to my head, neck and jaw. Holy cats. I wish I had found this practice sooner and I will definitely be back. Here's my review: The calm and welcoming reception and treatment spaces are located in Rick's tidy lower level business space (totally separate from his home) in a safe and lovely neighborhood in SW Oak Park. Free street parking. Easy online appointment booking. Evening and Saturday hours, too. A great value. Highly recommend! I found Massage Therapy of Oak Park through a gift certificate that Rick had donated to a local children's charity fundraiser. I was the lucky highest bidder! What a great prize! Thank you Rick.

Finding a truly exceptional massage therapist is rarer than it should be. Curlie at Zenful Touch is…read morethe real thing. He's a massage therapist and a nurse -- a rare combination that means his understanding of the body goes well beyond technique. Add a natural gift for healing and a veteran's deep attunement to people's needs, and his range speaks for itself: clinical, therapeutic, or pure relaxation -- he can meet you exactly where you are. The space is cozy, clean, and welcoming. Easy parking too. He does a real assessment before starting -- asks the right questions and actually uses the answers. From there it's seamless. Having experienced plenty of massage therapy over the years, the precision and level of relief here is in a different league. He finds the exact spots, dials in the pressure, and works through everything you came in with without missing a beat. I stood up differently when it was over. Slept better that night. Signed up for a monthly membership on my first visit and haven't looked back. The membership includes back treatment, foot exfoliation, and hot stone -- all built in as a perk. If you haven't found a therapist who actually gets it, this is the one.

Shappell was very thorough during the massage. ***however, upon reflection and discussion w a massage therapist friend on mine, I have concerns re consent in the following instances. 1. She told me that she would leave the room for me to undress but did not. 2. She told me to undress to my comfort level, which for me was top and bottom underwear. She then promoted me to remove my bra. 3. She used cupping without asking me before hand or instructing me as to why. Cupping obviously leaves marks on my back which I did not anticipate having following my appointment. This hasn't been a part of deep tissue massages I've had in the past at other places and this was the first time I'd ever have it done. 4. She took pictures of my back after the cupping which I did not consent to her taking. I would not have known she did this had she not shown me afterwards. I hope she has since deleted them. Shappell seems lovely and clearly is a gifted massage therapist. However, I feel very uncomfortable with these aspects and hope they are addressed for future clients.
