Thank you so much for the wonderful experience we had at the Century Plaza. The rooms are lovely - spacious and well appointed. Most importantly, the staff is amazing - from the lobby/front desk, maintenance, and housekeeping to Beyond Coffee, we had no needs unmet. The location is perfect with easy access to public transportation, restaurants and shops. Everyone was so helpful and kind! My students absolutely loved the experience and remarked on all these elements and how much they want to return on our next visit to Vancouver. Thank you so much for having us - I know many people fear such a large group but we felt welcomed and appreciated in every aspect of the stay.

This is THE most money I have ever paid for the absolute WORST hotel room I've ever stayed in! The lobby is very nice and things went downhill from there. There were so many things wrong in my room that I actually took photos! They tout the blackout curtains but they don't close-at all! I safety-pinned the ones in the bedroom and still couldn't sleep. A/C was in another room (those drapes didn't close either) so had to have door open, door let in light all the way down hallway. VERY noisy (even with wax earplugs), useless balcony with peeling paint, room facing an alley and parking garage with 24/7 light, with emergency vehicles and trash trucks almost all night. TV was pixelating so shut it off, newer carpet but without any padding so you could feel the bad concrete patching underneath, switches that didn't do anything. I stayed here one night before boarding a cruise ship, was never more happy to check out. BEST part of this place is the restaurant. Lovely, quiet place with an amazing manager. I took a nap the minute I got into my cruise cabin. Worst stay EVER! Answered the survey, gave my phone and email, no contact. Shocker.

Scrolling down and I'm seeing a bunch of less than stellar reviews. Oof. Not to discount their experiences, but I didn't have any of the aforementioned issues with cleanliness at all. Yes, the hotel is on the older side. BUT the room was clean. And as someone mentioned, you are getting a FULL SUITE at a price that's cheaper than the surrounding hotels. Honestly, Century Plaza is a win in my books. Located right in the middle of Downtown Vancouver, I can happily say that my stay was pleasant and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. You're a 10-20 min walk away from EVERYTHING. All the restaurants I wanted to try were walking distance. If you're the type to exercise on vacation (I'm not, but you do you), Vancouver Waterfront is a quick morning jog away. The only issue is that you're right next to the hospital and sometimes you walk past people doing drugs, but hey, people are doing drugs in other areas of downtown too! The room wasn't a room, it was a full-on apartment. Actually, it had a better layout than some of the modern condos I see nowadays. You've got a nice sitting area, a perfectly functional kitchen with full sized fridge and stove. TVs in the living area and bedroom. You will not be able to find anything in the area that remotely gets you the same $/sqft value. Service was pretty great. Staff were friendly and we were allowed to check-in early and check-out late. Apparently, I somehow retained my Expedia Gold status through the pandemic even though I didn't go anywhere, so they even gave me a $25 voucher for their in-house restaurant: C-Prime. Got some oysters and a pretty neat smoky old-fashioned. This place isn't perfect but it's pretty dang good! The price, the location, the service. I stayed for a whole week here and would have happily stayed longer.

Laid down after a long day of travel then noticed small bed bugs crawling towards me. It was one and then more came out. Found more on the other double bed near the pillow cases. Immediately called front desk for another room. They provided one on the 14th floor, but that was all they did. No comp breakfast, dinner or even an apology.  It was crazy. They acted as if it was normal. The night manager said they would reach out with something for the inconvenience, but nothing ever came of it. The shower rod was bent downward so the shower curtain was in the shower.  The heater wouldnt turn down and was always at 75f so we had to keep the patio door slightly open. The bathroom sink was clogged and had a slow drain. The bathroom vanity light kept randomly turning off so wed be in the dark.  I told front desk about this but they never fixed the issue. Two of the 4 elevators were broke so we had to wait a long time to either get up to our floor or down to the lobby. There is no gym on site.  The bathroom bar soap is cheap so be sure to bring your own.  The ice machine on 5th floor was broken as well so you had to go down to the lobby to get the ice. We requested to have some brought up but the night shift was short of people.  Overall it was an interesting stay. The staff were friendly and the location was great, but the rooms and hospitality need work. Id stay at the Sandman Suites on Davie next time, which was my first option anyway. I wouldnt stay here again.  To the hotel: booking via 3rd party shouldnt mean you stick us in a room with a cheap mattress and bedbugs. It also doesnt mean theres nothing you can do to make it right for the guest for the inconvenience.

Dried blood all over the sheets. Also there are stains all over the carpet and the elevator is broken.

This place is best described as a "3 dressed up as a 9" It tries to pass itself off as a higher end hotel but there is no way. There is absolutely no attention to detail, and has flaws throughout. There are major chips in the paint everywhere. As well as uneven paint and rust stains. The most scary part was the pool - the exposed pipes have tons of rust and black mold. Pretty nasty. Even the bathroom that is shared between the pool and spa what looked nice at first glance also had tears in the seating bench as well as worn and damaged floor boards Ect. I would hate to see the Spa ! Even more bizarre was the paper I had to sign - the Party Policy - highlights include -no noise or unregistered guests in room after 8 pm! -if you cause any disturbance with no warning you will get kicked out, no refund and fined 500$ Never have I had to sign anything like this in all the many hotels I have ever stayed at. Made me wonder what types of undesirables tend to stay here. Some rooms are renovated, and some do have a nice view. That's SOME - the majority are not..... The elevator doesn't require a key which is nice, but they are old and s-l-o-w as hell. They do have vending machines on P2. And an amenity room on the 5th floor that features a computer to use the internet, laundry facilities, ice machine, TV, seating area, coffee station and a photo booth ( currently out of service ! ) Open 24/7 The fitness Center is also 24/7, but the pool is not ( 8am -10 pm ) They also have Absolute Spa and A salon, as well as a comedy club The Comedy Mix. Also a few places to eat. The front desk staff leaves much to be desired. The odd one is ok- but I have encountered ones who are snotty and borderline rude. With all the options in Vancouver, I will definitely not stay here again.

We stayed at the Century Plaza Hotel and Spa for two nights, which was a nice stay. Nothing fancy or special, but is a fine choice for lodging in downtown Vancouver. I found Century Plaza Hotel and Spa through Expedia, as our default hotel that we stay at was under renovation. With a great price and location we decided to stay here and found that Century Plaza provided what we normally look for in a hotel: parking, downtown location and a more modern hotel room. Though parking was a little confusing at first, it's nice that they do have parking available for those trekking from a road trip. The parking garage is behind the building and for hotel guests you can park anywhere on levels P2 and above. The problem with that though is, access to the hotel without having to walk down the multiple ramps since there's no elevator in the garage, is only on P2. We learned this after finding a spot on P4 and saw there was no elevator to lug down our baggage. You literally have to walk down the ramps that the cars drive on to get down to P2 for hotel access. Not an ideal situation for those who are carrying a lot of luggage. Parking is $17/night and you must be out at noon the day you check out. The room was nice despite the obvious signs that the building is aging. Bathroom had free toiletries, which was a plus. But there were some kinks. It took awhile to get hot water running, so we had to turn on the shower and wait a bit to get hot water. And the sink was starting to rust. The bedroom area of the room was better. King size bed was comfortable with a duvet and fluffy pillows. I especially liked there were multiple lighting options, including a lamp on each side of the bed for reading. The room also came with a mini fridge, coffee maker and coffee, microwave, sofa/seating area and a flat screen TV. The only other gripe was that the hallway smelled really foul. Every time we walked out we could smell something that seemed like it was rotting and at one point someone had left two garbage bags outside their room. Gross! Location is good. It's about a mile walk towards Gastown, Chinatown and Yaletown, as the hotel is located towards the West End in the Entertainment District. For us, it was nice to walk around and find plenty of options for drinks and food, yet the Entertainment District wasn't really our scene. But if you don't mind walking you can find everything you need and more downtown. Overall, Century Plaza was a good, comfortable stay for two nights while in downtown Vancouver. It's not perfect, but the pros outweighed the negatives.

Beautiful panoramic view of downtown Vancouver from my 26th floor balcony.

I don't understand how can anyone complain about this wonderful hotel. I am so exhausted from having only 2 hrs sleep last night but I just have to set the record straight n get their rating higher. I walked in the room n was so "wowed" it's not a hotel room it's a huge suite like an apartment 700 sf!!! Huge sofa, love seat, 40 inch flat TV, the balcony is huge, I was grateful I had the 26th floor corner suite, 1 side had the ocean view, the other the most phenomenal view of Vancouver. The kitchenette is more like a real kitchen w so many pots and pans, stove, oven n a microwave!! A full size refrigerator, I never cook when I travel but it's good to have a microwave to heat up my coffee or left over. Had I known this hotel was like home I would have stayed 2 more nights. The location is uniquely convenient, walking distance to Granville marketplace, Chinese n Japanese fast food, bakery! KFC.? Next yo St Paul hospital n a drug store. What a treat, in Paris or pretty much anywhere in Europe, the hotel rooms are tiny only 150 sf!!! For $200 a night!! The bathroom is so nice, the lights were bright, im sick n tired of luxurious hotels that are so dimly lit, you can't see anything, folks, hotels are not nightclubs!!! At Century plaza, they even had a heating lamp, it's so warm and cozy. Vancouver is a nice city, soon this will be called VANCOUKONG, after 1/2 of HK will move here! More authentic Chinese food here! I understand some complain that the hotel is historic but it's very clean n with all the amenities mentioned above, to me it's a solid 5 stars n I'll be back!!! I don't mind another Alaskan cruise if it's 60% off n most depart from Vancouver. Oh did I forget they gave us a coupon for $30 off their Italian restaurant.

    Nice soaps from spa.

This place is good location for walking downtown.close to Robson street, lots of bars, restaurants, shops, and drug stores. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Offer discounts to Capilano Suspension Bridge, restaurant and spa. I love that you can opt out of room service to help them be green and get $5.00 credit to the lovely cafe. Delish Chia Tea perfect for cold day. The lobby is updated but not the rooms. A little pricey for how outdated the rooms are. It's like walking into your grandmother's apartment. The walls need touch up, plumbing is sub par and water did not completely turn off. With that said it is clean wich is different then rundown. Large rooms with full kitchen. Coffee pot, kettle, stove, oven, fridge, and microwave. Utensils for 2 or 4 people. Bedding is clean but old. Could feel the springs in mattress. Parking is $17 a night but locked garage which is great due to crime and homeless in downtown. Next to hospital so you do hear sirens. With all that said I would stay again since I was out all day and need a clean place to stay. I would recommend just know what you are getting. Clean, friendly, older but hood location hotel.

Amazing customer service. A mother-daughter getaway and upon arrival, we were given an upgrade to an executive suite with a balcony with amazing views. I can't speak to parking as we got a ride there. The hotel is very clean. The room was quiet (I couldn't hear anyone beside us or above us) - a definite bonus in a hotel. They welcomed us warmly on arrival and made sure all our needs were attended to in an efficient manner. The location is convenient for exploring downtown. There are lots of stores within walking distance. The price of our stay was reasonable. It has a great spa attached to it and that added to how much I enjoyed our stay. I felt safe exploring the area in the early hours of the morning (before the sun rises). The elevator is a bit dated (felt a little bounce when it landed on our floor) but other than that, a great experience.

This hotel was super insufficient when it came to room service and household goods. We ordered breakfast and they didn't give us enough utensils. We requested some be sent to us with extra bath towels. That never happened. We ended up eating with our hands and had to request towels again. After speaking with a manager, their excuse was "the restaurant is not apart of the hotel and household goods were sent for the amount of people who checked into the room." We paid for 3 people in our room, we should have received 3 sets of everything regardless of the standard amount. Lame!

Great value! Booked our week-long stay through Hotwire for a great price (~$70/night) and couldn't have asked for a better location! We had an awesome view from 2805, complete with a small kitchenette, a living room area, and an extremely comfortable bed. On-site gym has everything you need to get your sweat on, and ask about discount tickets to the comedy club. The downstairs coffee shop was convenient, there's also a steakhouse and spa, as well as an indoor pool and steam room. But the best thing was the location. Century Plaza is across the street from the bust station, down the street from the Robson shopping district, and surrounded by tons of eating and drinking options. Most of the lower-scoring reviews reference the nighttime noise and sirens from the hospital next door, but that sound carries through all of downtown. EXTRA NOTES: You can forego housekeeping services and get a $5 credit to use for on-site dining or spa services! There's an ATM off the lobby if you need it. There are plush robes in the closet, didn't notice these til our last day. You can usually find a cab right outside, super convenient.

A one-bedroom signature suite at L'Hermitage was significantly less than a regular room at the Pan Pacific and the Rosewood so I booked 3 nights ($625CAD/night). I got off the Silver Moon at 9:45am, handed my luggage off to a representative from Luggage Forward, and walked from the cruise terminal up to the hotel. My room wasn't ready, so I dropped off my carry-on and backpack and went shopping and to have lunch. I was still on my way to CF Pacific Centre when the front desk called, informing me my room was ready. I told them I'd return after lunch. Wow, I loved my room (707)! As you entered through a short hallway, you found yourself looking at a full kitchen to your right, bathroom to your left and then the bedroom, past a closet housing a stack washer/dryer. The living room was bright and airy because there were walls of glass. Past the kitchen was a den with a desk and sofa. Off the living room was a small lanai overlooking the pool. The kitchen featured a gas range, full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. It was like a timeshare unit, not a hotel room, as there was tableware, glassware, etc. The only nitpick was the bathroom; it didn't quite measure up to the rest of the unit. It was small, with a full-sized glass-enclosed tub, a Toto (but without the washlet) toilet, and a small vanity and shelf unit opposite the vanity. It was totally functional, but I wished the tub had a shower wand, not just the rain head. If I could, I'd want this room moved to Hawaii to become my residence. The front desk staff were personable and friendly. The exercise facilities were fine. The L'Orangerie restaurant is located on the 5th floor ... more on that in a separate review.
