This theatre has come a long way! I remember when I first moved to Lawrence in 2013 and back then…read morethe seats did not recline and the concession stand was limited. Now they have better recliners than most AMC's and the snacks are fully stocked! Sorry I forgot to take a picture): I bought my tickets online and I was so glad I did because there is no "ticket person" in the front anymore. Not sure if that's a thing of the past or just because we were coming to see one of the last movies of the night? We were able to walk past the concession stand straight to the lobby attendant. We were directed to the theatre showing our movie and found our seats quickly. In all honesty, I'm not a "movie person". I will always prefer to buy it at home whenever possible because I am one of those "wait, what just happened...I need to rewind" type LOL. Now whenever I come here I bring a big blanket because it's always super cold, then I end up falling asleep because the chairs are too comfortable. NOT THIS TIME! Not sure if I was really excited to see Zootopia 2 or if it was just that good, but I was completely invested and probably only blinked a few times; as I did want to miss a thing. The seating area was clean, the screen was huge and only interrupted once for camcording without a flash which I really appreciate. The only issue I have which may not be able to be fixed is how bright the lights were during the previews and the previews lasting 25-30 mins?! Like I said I don't go to the movies often and I usually arrive as the previews are ending, but previews should only last 10-15 minutes maximum. There are only 4 locations left in Kansas and 2 of them are in Wichita and the other is Topeka. There isn't one in the Kansas City area as the closest location would be St. Joseph! Regal Cinemas are diamonds in the rough and bring back the nostalgia of going to the movies in the early 2000's. In a world filled with AMC and B&B, if I get to choose I am going with REGAL(:

I had never been to the Moxie before, but I decided to go today because I heard that they had a…read morefree showing of The Lego Movie and thought me and my son would have a great time. The employees were friendly as we entered the foyer and helped us select our seats; however, they then informed us that "because it's a free showing masks are required". I paused and considered this information. I walked away in frustration, but ended up going back to ask for clarification questions. I got confirmation that if I PAY for a ticket to watch a movie, I would have the freedom to not wear a mask, but when there's no MONEY involved, apparently the science changes and suddenly masks are required to save everyone's lives. I won't start a debate over the validity of masks on this review, that's not the point. The issue I have is that they "recommend" masks for paying customers and "require" masks for non-paying customers. I imagine they'd be hard pressed to explain the "science" behind that decision. Again... employees were pleasant; policies... not. I will never return.

Wow - The Moxie is truly the best cinema experience in Springfield if the movie selection suits…read moreyou. I hadn't been to the new location until I came here for a movie this past weekend with some friends of mine, and I had such a good time, I think I could have sat and watched another one if time had permitted. I sat in for The Grand Budapest Hotel after watching previews for several films that I ACTIVELY WANTED TO SEE, as opposed to enduring a somewhat nonsensical thread of cinematic barf. An amazing aspect of The Moxie is its dedication to real, true businesses - right down to its concessions options. Gourmet chocolate bar with orange peel? Yup. Izze soda? Got it. Wine? Wait. Hold the phone. There's WINE here? I can have WINE with my excellently hip indie film? Someone snatch me up a blanket made of alpaca wool and let's do this thing! And the prices are refreshingly NOT blasphemous, as opposed to chain cinema concession stands. The new Moxie is somehow just the old Moxie on a different street - as in, it retained its upbeat, modern, blocked red-and-black scheme in the best possible way - with a few new art installations thrown in. The new auditoriums are even better, though. They're bigger yet cozier and the red seats (which are super comfy on your buns, by the way) remind you where you are even after you're away from the lobby. You're at The Moxie, and you're enjoying yourself. The staff seems great, too. The college-ish girl running the register at the front popped into the theater before our show began and gave a short little talk about another movie coming up, which was not insignificant in the sense that it really showed that this theatre is loved. As Ebert and Roeper would say (because they review movies and stuff, get it? Ha ha ha...): two thumbs up!

AMC Town Center 20 is my go-to theater for watching movies. I really love that all the seats are…read morerecliners here and they are very comfortable. I also have no complaints about the cleanliness, showtimes, service and most importantly The Food. I usually get popcorn and chicken tenders every time I visit, and they are always fresh and prepared well. Overall, I have never had any big issues with this theater. That said, I definitely feel like the place could use little bit of renovations, as the decor looks a bit one toned and outdated. It doesn't take away from the experience I have there but a decor refresh would definitely add a lovely touch. One thing I would mention is the pricing of the popcorn/snacks - a standard size popcorn for $10 plus is just wild ($10.47 to be precise). If they could lower the prices a bit, it would be a win win situation for everyone. Needless to say, I always enjoy my movie time here and will always keep coming back. A proud A-List member (four movies a week for around $22 a month - now that's a stellar deal)!

Especially when you are buying food, the people checking you out always have some kind of attitude. One guy couldn't figure out how to use my giftcard and told me it had nothing on it when I had just got it with $15. Online it said 15 too. He didn't bother with getting a manager or asking for help from other workers. This past time, there was a huge line for food and only one person checking out. Three other employees were tanning about their lives in a circle, completely ignoring the line and not offering to help at all. The place is clean and the food is always good to me. Plus i've never had any problems with movies starting late or any problems with the actual seats.
