I have always liked this place, and I sometimes visit when I am in town…read more The ambiance is awesome. Last night, I ordered the Cuban sandwich. It was FANTASTIC!!! I loved it. Howeverrrrr..... I may slightly resemble Uncle Fester, but that does NOT give a server an excuse to not approach me at all. From the moment I sat down, I waited a while until I kindly asked for a menu. The barmaid gave it to me, without saying anything else. Then I had to notify her that I was ready to order, after waiting a few minutes. After I told her I wanted the Cuban sandwich, she said "okay" and walked away. She brought the plate to me, and set it in front of me without saying anything. Nor did she swing by, to ask how my food was. The guy with the dark haired bowl-cut was the ONLY one who asked how my food was, and he wasn't even my waiter! I was too kind to give her a tip anyway. Some people jussssst do not belong in customer service, if they lack communication skills or common sense. I didn't feel comfortable with staying there, after the cold reception from the barmaid, and left.

I've been here a thousand times (and I normally have no problems) but am basing this review on my…read moremost recent visit. My BF and I went on a Friday night. They weren't busy at all but we waited at the hostess stand for several minutes before they sat us. When we finally sat, they offered to turn on the heater for me and I took them up on it. After a few minutes of fiddling with it, they just gave up and never said anything else about it until I asked. The waitress said it wasn't working and that she would have to drag the one from way over there, which would be "too much". Ok, fine, I'll freeze but that's my fault for not dressing appropriately for Florida weather. Then we ordered some seltzers that were on special (we thought). We asked the waitress if they were $5 all day, she said she would go check because she wasn't sure; never received an answer. Next, the food. My BF has celiac so he asked what he can have on the menu. He was given two options, the Baja fish tacos (with corn tortillas) or the ahi tuna bowl. He opted for the Baja fish tacos. After about 10 minutes, the waitress came back and said they couldn't find the corn tortillas, so he was stuck ordering the tuna bowl. He made sure to tell her he had a gluten allergy. When we got the food, it looked like there was soy sauce in the bowl. We waited for the waitress to come back for over 15 minutes and she never did. When she finally did, we asked if there was soy sauce and there indeed was. She said she would have them remake it. At this point, my BF asked to speak to a manager. We had empty drinks, no food after sitting for 20-25 minutes and it was freezing because no heater (still my fault for not dressing right), but we were pretty miserable. The bartender came out and said she was manager on duty and we explained what happened. She offered to take the tuna bowl and first round of drinks off our bill. Overall, this was a miserable experience and I'm glad that I have other visits to base it off of because we wouldn't have come back if it were our first time there.

My friends and I visited Flor Fina to celebrate a birthday, and overall, we had a fun time. The…read moredecor, vibe, and service were great, and I really enjoyed the restaurant's design and ambiance. We started with drinks, including the Berry Me Ybor, The Forbidden Fruit, and The Greenhouse. Everyone enjoyed their drinks, although the Berry Me Ybor was extremely small for $16. Since we were a larger group, everyone ordered different dishes from various parts of the menu. I ordered the Patatas Bravas Chilaquiles and the Tuna Carpaccio Flatbread. The chilaquiles were a good portion, but some of the chips were soggy because the sauce was sitting at the bottom of the bowl. I also felt there should have been much more truffle aioli. The Tuna Carpaccio Flatbread was disappointing. It was very small and overly vinegary, which made it difficult to enjoy. I think the dish had potential, but the portion size and flavor just didn't work for me. Several of the ladies ordered the Haya Caesar Salad and the 2020 Ybor Chop Salad. Both salads were a good size, although several people felt the 2020 Ybor Chop Salad was too salty. The Grilled Half Chicken, Herb Steak Fries, and Pickled Mango & Burrata were also ordered and were enjoyed. One thing to note: Flor Fina gets pretty loud at night. During our visit, there was a wedding taking place with music, and the restaurant also had a live DJ inside. So, if you're looking for a quieter dining experience, this may not be the place. Overall, I'd skip the food and stop by for drinks instead. The cocktails, ambiance, and decor are enjoyable, but the dinner dishes didn't leave us wanting more or planning a return visit.

I got 16 wings for $30 - 25% = $22.50 and I had half "soon to be famous" and half garlic parmesan. I thought both were just okay at best. I also tried at $14 dirty martini. It was pretty standard. I guess I need to try something here other than wings. I don't know every time I come here I always wonder why I'm not at Hattricks instead. Unfortunately, they come with a side of tortilla chips and queso, and the chips were extremely stale. They were so hard that I could barely bite into them. For a meal that cost around $18, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect something as simple as tortilla chips to be fresh. It definitely took away from the overall experience. On the positive side, my order was ready on time, and the staff was friendly and welcoming when I picked it up. The ambiance is typically lively. I'm hoping this was just an off day because the tacos were genuinely good. If they paid a little more attention to quality control on the sides, I'd be much more likely to order again.
