This is bye far the best Pawn shop in the Central Valley CA, I have been dealing with them for years and they have always been professional, courteous and happy to help, I have checked out several pawn shops in the valley. None of them come close when it comes to helping you out when you need some money, whether it's to pawn an item or whether it's to sell an item. This is hands down the best pawn shop, I wouldn't waste my time with all the other ones in Fresno, Atwater, Modesto, and so forth. because I've already done that and none of them help me the way Central Valley pawn shop in Merced, California has helped. I greatly appreciate their business and the service they provide for the community. They also have a great selection of tools, musical equipment, stereo equipment, jewelry, and a whole lot of other things. It's pretty fun place to just browse and look around. You might find something you've been looking for. read more

Do not go here, the guy makes you feel like your begging and will flat out refuse a loan depending on how you look. ( non white). He says expillicity that the item you are trying to get a loan on is "hard to sell" not even giving you the benefit of retrieval of said property. Terrible guy this is. The girls are really cool and basically have to ask his permission for loans wich indicates he has no trust whatsoever in his employees. Please go to Atwater, The Pawn Shop. I've been a customer there for 3 years, they are honest and upfront about their business, they actually value their customers. read more

Excellent Customer Service the husband and wife are the ones I'm I used to dealing with. They're so nice and so patient so understanding., the first time I ever went there , they made me feel so comfortable as though I've been coming there for years, compared to other pawnshops outside the one in Atwater they are the best in my opinion read more

I went to sell a sterling silver set, they take parts of the set to the back room out of sight to weigh, when she is done, I ask how much it weighed and what their offer would be per gram/ounce, she would not tell me the numbers, then offers me a lowball price, which I again questioned, then after giving me a price 40% below scrap...says oh I missed those pieces, and refused to up the price to reflect the missing items that she added in, then when I again questioned the pricing they got all "snippy" and told me to take it or leave it. Unless you are in a bind, find another place to take your items, these people are not honest or transparent in their dealings with the public. read more

seem like they change out some diamond because now my stuff looks dull and not the same

This is a very small central valley pawn shop, but upon entering I am very impressed with how clean and well maintained their showroom floor is. Their shelves are all organized in a way that allows you to view everything they have to offer at one time, without being over cluttered. I enjoy being able to shift from one area to the the next without having to deal with unlike items being placed next to each other, here you won't see electronics placed with tools or anything of the sort. The staff members are helpful with answering questions and are always willing to give fair prices on all items. read more

I have to say that this pawn shop sucks their Customer service and friendliness suck they don't greet you as well do you mean when you come into their business their prices are ridiculous and they are rude people I wouldn't spend a dime in that damn pawn shop go to Atwater much better way better it's worth the drive read more

Customer service is great. Very friendly and helpful. I am a returning customer and will remain so indefinitely.

Cool folks...Pawn shops always are there when ya need them

Horrible customer service from the lady in what looks to be late 30s/Early 40s. The elder lady not the best, but not the worst either. The younger lady was just completely rude as if she didn't want to be there,(If I thought I was better than everybody else coming in I wouldn't want to work in a pawn shop either) very rude, and condescending. I was a long time buyer from them; and occasionally pawned and sold a few things, but never really had to deal with her. I do wish I had sooner so I would've known how this place really treats its customers. From the looks of their google and yelp reviews it's good to see I'm not the only one. Don't go here, go to Atwater very friendly staff and treat customers with respect, and understand hardships and aren't judgmental ******* (You know what) read more

Rude customer service, called and spoke to whoever. Told them what I had to offer, very rude. Debating even driving from Turlock.

I've been dealing with these people since I moved to Merced three years ago. I get nothing but respect when I go in. They are firm with the hours and you have to respect that. Doesn't matter if it's a phone call or in person they always treat me well. I will continue to do business with them in future..... good people to work with...... read more

scandalous, watch yourself when taken in gold she takes it to the back without you looking and gives you whatever price she wants she thinks she has the only scale in the world.Wade the piece of gold on my calibrated scale to grams she comes back saying 1.6 with a rude attitude very unprofessional wasn't worth fighting over then she try to cover her tracks saying I only pay $18 a gram that would make it 36 she gave me 30 she's screwed me in more ways than one but God has plans for her didn't want to be confrontational , even though she was ripping me off. Make her way in front of you because she's very scandalous. I rate the Merced pawn shop a half a star. you don't have to get over on everybody it's business but have some class read more

Do not bring your laptop to this location!!! I took a loan on my laptop for 4 months and when I went to pick it up, my laptop was completely dead(It's been 4 months, so it's completely normal). I live in Los Banos. As soon as I got home, I plugged in my charger and turned my laptop on. I was trying to put my password in and was not able to because my screen kept on blinking. I kept getting irritated since my laptop did NOT had this issues; otherwise I would not have been able to get a loan. I used my phone to do a google search to see what would be some problems associated with this issue. It stated that your laptop might have beed DROPPED or STACKED on top of other devices. I think that my laptop was stacked on top of other devices and now I have cannot even use my device. I called and let the lady with the short hair and glasses, but she was sooooo rude and stated that she couldn't do nothing about it. I paid $96 for the loan in November, 2017. Still bothers me to this day and I do NOT recommend anyone to take this devices at Central Valley Pawn. read more
